There’s more depth to ERD’s aesthetic than Slimene-era YSL. Might be too “pretentious” for you or your budget, but Henry’s artistry is undisputed and impossible to replicate
John Stockton If you could entertain me, can you explain the artistry behind his SS20’s “Porn Stars Who Are No Longer With Us” hoodie? I genuinely want to know what he was trying to achieve there, so I could maybe better understand.
tbh that's what i like about the brand. i mean its called depressed rich kids they're supposed to look like pretentious low lifes on an ivory tower. design wise it's not that interesting but the brand absolutely nails the doped out dropout vibe it's intented to present. The whole concept was meant to reject everyone but pretentious rich kids to the appeal of the brand and they've managed to do pretty good so far so i guess it's going as planned. although the tailoring is horrible thou i actually like some of the styling ideas ERD presents using staple punk garments mixed with luxury garments you might expect from something like hermes/seraphin/arnys. EDIT: btw i definitely do not agree with people claiming there is a "deeper sensitive layer" hidden in the work. The designer is a total dick who argues with the punk bands who's logo's he uses on his $6000 clothes but that's the whole point! it's clothing for rich lowlife assholes!
Tunnel vision SLP fans will point at anything rockstar inspired and claim it was copied from Hedi.... that and the self contradiction in trying to call this brand pretentious while using SLP as a comparison. 😑
Henri and Aqua always kill it with the music, Johnny Thunders interview in the background too
