Lack of specified space for the tribal farmers in the Haflong market forced them to sell their agricultural products on foot path.
As the villagers around Haflong and also from interior villages throng at Haflong on Saturday being the weekly market day, to sell their agricultural products for their livelihood but find no specified space to sell their products , as a result of which they are compelled to sell their products on the footpath despite facing utter difficulties.
Though it is encouraging that the villagers have been taking more interest in agriculture than that of jhuming but lack of marketing facilities sometime forced them otherwise. Villagers are of the opinion that a proper market facility for their products were to be provided at the earliest to encourage the villagers in agriculture while discouraging jhuming.
The demand of the villagers are very limited, they want temporary shelter in Haflong market to sell their products protecting themselves from rain and sun.

Please make MOTHER MARKET SHED for only tribal mothers. I think CEM can take initiative for the betterment of tribal mothers.
