How to Bezel 8mm Chatons & Bead a Necklace with Seed Beads and Bicones

- This is a wonderful and easy-to-make beaded necklace! It can be made by any level beader - I was quite a beginning beader myself when I designed this beaded necklace. :)
It is made with 15/0 Miyuki seed beads, 3mm and 4mm bicones, 8mm chatons and an 11x5,5mm crystal drop bead. You will also need a size 13 or 12 beading needle and size 0,10mm or 0,12 Fireline thread.
The number of crystals you'll need:
(9) 8mm Chatons; (60) 3mm and (36) 4mm bicones; (234) 3mm bicones; (1)11x5,5mm drop bead.

I really liked the tutorial. It wasn't too hard it just had a lot of steps. But they repeated often so that made it easier. The style that you teach is straight forward and not for beginners or those who get confused easy. Thank you for teaching me again a nice way to make a bezel. It was elegant and classy. You are right about my style of teaching, I sometimes worry it is too straight forward.. but at a certain point I had to make a choice between teaching beading and teaching/showing a pattern and I prefer the second one because even if more challenging it helps people learn a lot more. :-)

Me too .. I didn't really know what to do with such small stones before, now I'm not afraid to substitute these 8mm Chatons for 8mm round gemstones .. I just leave out the middle rows to capture the deep backs of the Chatons so I just come up with a very similar pattern for a flatter backed gemstone .. The secret is in the way you sew your first row of 15/0's around your first bicones .. THAT is incredibly clever and I would NEVER have thought of doing that by myself! You're such a great teacher!!

OMG .. I can't WAIT to get started! So far, so good, but I'm glad I had the 8mm sew-on Swarovski Chatons in the Stirling silver 'casement' .. otherwise I could try a design without seed beads between the very first ring of 3mm bicones, or try 2mm bicones on that first ring so my Chatons don't slip around ... I've tightened them as much as I possibly can!! Apart from that little problem it's SO pretty! I'm having a bit of trouble getting the needle through the same thread path, with the 15/0's .. but they're so dainty. I'm using the finest beading needles available and finer thread too .. it's a bit frustrating, but it's sooooo gorgeous that I'm going to finish all 9 components! I'm using all clear AB bicones with all dark bronze Miyuki 15/0's ... sooooo pretty. Thank you so much, Sidonia .. you're the best teacher : )
