X2 was one of the best movies of it's kind during the 2000s back when I still cared about superhero movies. I think part of the reason why it was called X2 - X-Men United in the US is because about a decade prior there was another movie released here called F/X2 along with later in the 90s a TV Series based on the 2 F/X movies just called F/X and they didn't want any confusion.
I really do like X2: X-MEN UNITED this is a great movie. What I like the most is how go into Wolverine’s past and try to give some closure into what happened to him all those years ago.
One thing I always found to be a funny coincidence was that this movie reunited two actors who had previously worked together on the James Bond film Goldeneye.
I always credit this film as the film that solidified the idea that you can have good comic book superhero movies other than Batman/Superman. The problem with Cyclops is that while Chris Claremont wrote the Scott/Jean/Logan love triangle as mainly being all Logan pining after Jean (and even had Logan fall in love with Mariko), a buncha Wolverine fanboys/girls wanted him with Jean. So, it keeps getting brought up over and over again. Jean and Scott were deeply in love, but many a fanboy writer and obviously some movie directors went with Wolverine getting the girl due to Logan's bigger popularity. So, James Marsden got screwed over.

I always felt as a kid reading the comics and watching the cartoon show as well as the movies that Scott and Jean were meant to be together because of the fact that they were not only the first two students at Professor Xavier's school but because they knew each other inside and out long before Logan joined the team and I also felt that after dealing with the loss of so many women that he loved throughout his long life that it was time for Marvel to give Wolverine his own PERMANENT love interest and leave Jean alone especially now that she was married to Cyclops.
11:26 I didn't think it was missing a theme, but that's because I was listening really hard for the tv show's theme lol To my ears, the first movie had a very underdeveloped version of that tune; and the second movie seemed to build on that tune. I expected the third movie would develop it further, if not fully into a cinematic version of that show's theme Ah, well. It's been fun watching them 💙
I wish X3 had Cyclops as the true leader and not just a presence. But this is definitely one of my favorite sequels. T2. The Dark Knight. Spider-Man 2. And this one.
Bryan Singer really is a multitasker juggling actors, set pieces, special effects department oh and his underground children sex trafficking ring. Man, what a dynamo!
Agreed this is best X-Men film yet still. Anna Paquin was too background character as Kitty Pryde was taking over Rogue's spot. Animated series X-Men:Evolution's version depicted how Paquin's was intended as but never got as Singer promised she'd get more action in X3 when he was still attached as director before leaving for Superman Returns. And Xaviors School was also used as Lex's home in Smallville tv series. Only backside would be noticed. Good review😊

Thankfully, CycIops was finally portrayed a more causative fighter in the movie , "'X MEN D∆RK PHOENIX"'. Not a great X-Men flick, but it was ok.
Cyclops has a stronger appearance in the "'CYCL0PS eXtended Cut"' of the 1st X-Men movie.
Da nada for this episode big fan and thank you very much minty keep with good movie reviews as they say evolution leaps forward
Love this but the best part for is when Colossus was like I can Help. Keep it up I love this chanel
X-2 is my favourite X-Men movie. Can’t believe it came out 21 years ago now, seems like 5 years ago I saw it in the theatre
Van Helsing is still a guilty pleasure of mine. I'd LOVE to see you do a video on it!
Love the video and yes a Van Helsing video would be great

I didn't think it was missing a theme, but that's because I was listening really hard for the tv show's theme lol
To my ears, the first movie had a very underdeveloped version of that tune; and the second movie seemed to build on that tune. I expected the third movie would develop it further, if not fully into a cinematic version of that show's theme
Ah, well. It's been fun watching them 💙
Van Hellsing would be a great one to review around Halloween time 😊
I finally went out and saw the actual Castle filmed for the school last year. It's pretty cool in person 👍

I wish X3 had Cyclops as the true leader and not just a presence. But this is definitely one of my favorite sequels. T2. The Dark Knight. Spider-Man 2. And this one.
PLEASE DO A VAN HELSING LIST. Have a great one, Minty! 😁
Major upgrade in media presentation. Nicely done.
X2 is not only the best X - men film, but one of the best comic book films of all time. Up there with The Dark Knight.
Bryan Singer really is a multitasker juggling actors, set pieces, special effects department oh and his underground children sex trafficking ring.
Man, what a dynamo!
X Men 2 for me.
And Wolverines claws 100% indicate 3 in the 3rd film
Agreed this is best X-Men film yet still. Anna Paquin was too background character as Kitty Pryde was taking over Rogue's spot. Animated series X-Men:Evolution's version depicted how Paquin's was intended as but never got as Singer promised she'd get more action in X3 when he was still attached as director before leaving for Superman Returns. And Xaviors School was also used as Lex's home in Smallville tv series. Only backside would be noticed. Good review😊
Yes to the Van Helsing episode pls! Love your work Minty
Tha power of shitty!!! Good shit Mint that got me laughing my ass off
Yes I would like to see you do Van Helsing
i will always remember when watching this near the end i needed to pee so bad and left quickly and then coming back and it took me out of the finale hahah so annoying but this is the best x-men film and a favourite cinema experience for me. 2003 was a great cinema year
Wolverine vs Lady Deathstrike was awesome 😊
The Acolyte reference was perfect! On multiple levels! LoL
Considering you made a video covering both the release and impact of Ghostbusters and Gremlins in honor of their 30th anniversary, are you going to do a Lost Version episode for either of them covering the early drafts?
Hell yea we want you to do that movie. And what is it cold on the island down under.... lol
