Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 січ 2024
- This week at Starbase SpaceX begins scrapping some of the original orbital tank farm, several Starships get shuffled around, and the last of the tents at the build site is brought down to make room for further expansion of the Starfactory building, while over at Cape Canaveral ULA performs its first Vulcan launch, Blue Origin rolls out its New Glenn first stage booster, and SpaceX continues launch and recovery operations, despite having one droneship down for repairs.

This is the channel to watch to get my weekly SpaceX updates fix.
once again thank you for explaining what is happening ...all the best from the... derbyshire dales... UK
You are very welcome
I love my weekly updates . Thanks Lab , you do an amazing job bringing all the information about Starship and Starbase . Keeping up with the day to day ongoings is becoming exeedingly harder to do. But you make it possible. Cheers Brother !😎🤘
Wow, that's one of the most packed updates I've ever seen.
Around 67 individual reports of activity at Starbase.
Who'd have thought it needs so much work to get to Mars! 😉
Awesome, thanks Lab and Team. Looking forward to the first two months of this year - fingers crossed for ift3
Us too!
Maybe stop using the AI narrator, though. Its repetition is mind-numbing.
Thanks Lab, and to Everyone contributing to the continued success of the LabPadre channel!👍
StarBase has turned into quite the plentiful Tank Watchers Paradise!😁
Mike in San Diego.🌞🎸🚀🖖
Love these concise, information pack, chronological updates. Thanks!
Thank you for another easy to follow weekly update, @LabPadre & team!
5:20 You can’t really appreciate the enormous size of the LR11000 until you see parts of its boom loaded onto a flatbed. 😮
Excellent update Lab! Thank you for all you do to keep us Nerdle informed weekly. I feel a new wrinkle in my brain
13:36 That's a mighty fine picture of Doug looking very suave.
Well done editing job! Helps me catch up on a few things I've missed.
I am surprised that Elon doesn't auction off or allow off duty engeneers repurpose and autograph these Stainless tanks for worker housing near the site as monuments to their amazing feats of emgenuity that SpaceX has done!!! What a cool place to stay for an engeneer working or visiting the origional Gateway to MARS!!!
Elon is many things, but sentimental is not one of them. 🤣🤣
A whirlwind week in spaceflight!
Indeed!
I love your narration. This is like How It's Made.
As usual a great update, concise and informative with no BS. Thanks Lab!
Please keep these coming!!
Thanks LabPadre team. It's amazing how much is going on at SpaceX.
Excellent thanks. Definitely the best!
Thanks Lab team
Your summations are top-notch - thank you!
And there you have it. Crazy busy construction goin on all over Starbase that is not even included in these updates. Roads, parking areas, housing, etc.. This place is changing at a eerie remarkable pace..
I was amused by how you said Peregrine. It made me think how it would sound to say "engine" the same way. EnJINE?
Nate! Thank you for an action packed episode! We truly appreciate all your hard work!
Thank you Lab Padre Team!!!!
Wish the shipyard cam would concentrate on the star factory now. Can always pan back if anything happens
Thanks, Lab great update as always
Cool look inside at nosecones being made!
World class narration. Love the chronological sequence.
Best SpaceX updates to date!🎖🎖
So much work being done hard to keep up.
Question. Why doesn't Elon build his own road from manufacturing area to launch area instead of closing the public road all the time?
No land to purchase for that. Government owns some blocking lands, and government is notoriously inefficient at figuring out how to do stuff. However, there are some routes near the channel that goes to Port of Brownsville and near to the Rio Grande River that could be restored, more likely the one by the channel, for use by people visiting the beach, thus not requiring the use of the current historic Boca Chica Blvd / Highway 4 route.
y'know yr doing well for yrself when someone says to you "Why don't you just build yr own rd?" 😅
I was literally saying this to the screen before I started to scroll down and read comments. 2 heads are better than one and I do agree. If it is possible to construct an employee only access road and also to navigate the days they would otherwise close the common road, they wouldn't have to constantly schedule closures since all of the movement of heavy equipment/machinery is done on a private road built for that purpose. This is not a wasted thought it has weight to it. This is valuable opinion to consider for SpaceX. A road for employees(with ID access gate/security) and get their equipment/machinery off the main road. Things could progress much more quickly that way. I know it is very wet there so maybe they did think about it and simply don't have the idea how to yet. Who knows. It's still a worthwhile venture to look into.
Every time they say "aft flaps" I hear the voice of Gilbert Gottfried in that insurance advertisement.
Ditto 😂
Ship 26 becoming an HLS or tanker prototype maybe?
Where's the details of Starbase 2.0?
👍 🤗 Cool
Excellenté El Presidente ! 🤗
I wonder how much fun it is to be a construction worker for SpaceX?
Man the flaps on the starship are as big a a 747 wing almost!
Very busy week
It will always be Cape Kennedy to me
A serious question needs to be answered.. when X scraps its metal, does it get recycled into more parts for production? or does it get sold?
Outstanding update thanks Lab and team .. !!
❤❤
What was the reason they never used the fuel farm tanks?
Regulators at the Texas Railroad Commission got wind of them and came marching in with their army of paper pushers to stop them.
Good thing too considering the damage they took. @@bradallen1832
SpaceX can build giant, single wall fuel and oxygen tanks to fly into and out of orbit ay hypersonic speeds, but apparently they have no idea how the useless local goobermint regulators want them to build static fuel and oxygen tanks with mutiple walls. No wonder government space programs are essentially unafordable, like everything else the gov't attempts to do. @@bradallen1832
Last.
To bad the ULA mission is a failer. Now the rover and 300 body ashes will go splat into the moon
The mission was Astrobotic's mission, and ULA's part of that mission seemed to go perfectly.
The Peregrine is being brought back to Earth to reenter the atmosphere and burn up.
👍👍👍🇮🇳
