Summer Speedflying at Axamer Lizum - Austria

- This place is kind of a hidden gem. From the first look it seems like there is only one, very uninteresting and flat line (the last one in this video) but if you hike around and explore you discover that there are many, very exciting lines around. I won't give exact info on the lines since flying there is kinda forbidden but you have to be VERY careful because there's a lot of cables around so make sure to always check the whole line before flying it.

I took of from Widdersberg and then kinda flew around the corner on the east side and then back to the slope and the typical landing, its kinda flat but still nice!

Hey man, thanks! This place is unfortunately not open in October, only during summer and in winter for skiing.

What a video!! I'm getting into paragliding so I can speedfly one day. How many years of paragliding do I need to have before getting into speed?
I'm glad you like it and happy to hear you want to speedfly! I think it's very individual, some people paraglide for years before starting speedflying, some not so much, depends how much you feel comfortable and confident, most important is not to rush anything or skip steps 👍
I still dont get it how you get elevation
By flaring but, i dont see you flare. i see you manouver but not flaring...

Well usually the lines we fly with speedwings are steep enough so you don't have to flare at any point apart from landing. But then of course, the flights are very short.

Cool video, but your technique is unlike everything I've been taught. Legs flailing, brake stabs, and no weight-shift whatsoever. Hope you've dialed some of that in by now.
Well I was never given a lesson on speedflying so you might be right :D But I do try to weight shift a lot, maybe hard to see in this video and I also feel it's easier on a steeper lines. If you watch my video from Pitztal you can see it better Proximity speedflying in Pitztal (Austria) - Full line
