Speed flying is extreme sport using small canopies similar to a paragliders to fly off mountains, usually very close to the ground - and thats called proximity flying or proximity speedfly.
This is speedflying compilation mostly from videos on my UA-cam channel and are mostly captured with GoPro 8, Gopro 7 black and GoPro Max…

If you wanna dive into speedflying please first off reach out to your local paragliding school and see how you like flying with beginner paragliding wings. Then you can progress from there… remember speedflying can be very dangerous sport if its approached wrongly. Speedflying accident usually ends up with pretty much deadly outcome…
So always remember to take it easy and progress slowly with speedflying.

On Aljaz channel is movie "How fast is speedflying". Usually is as fast as You say, buy sometimes a lot faster ; )
Anywhere inbetween 40 and 100 kmt. Avg. 🚀 Depends on wingload and flying style. That's the beauty of speed flying! 😍 Great video 💪
It's simple: the wing goes 100 km/h. Most of the time you wanna fly with a crosswind.
100 - crosswind speed= the speed you are probably flying (but it depends also on you braking, type of the wing, trims etc.)
I am just having my early morning coffee, outside it is raining - what else to say? Your video lightens up my start in the day. I am 60 yrs right now and had paragliding lessons a few years ago (didn ´t continue because I live close to the sea and practice a lot of kitesurfing - mountains far away). In my next life I will definitely try this. Fly safe and enjoy it. Thanks for the video.

speedflying is on my plan. but I gradually get used to higher speeds and more sensitive steering techniques.

this when you watching feels simillar to a wingsuit, is this because it is a smaller wing than normal paragliding? can you actually go into the ground? or you can lift it up if you decide you need to go up with that speed?
Yeah these wings are smaller then paragliding wings.. with that you gain way more speed because of higher wing loading 🔥 You can control up and down with flaring (adding brake inputs) however you have to maintain speed all the time.. if you kill all the speed, wing can collapse and crash. More speed you have more flare/lid you can squeeze out. Might do detailed video about speedflying :))
also, do you have a spare parachute in case of some problems?

Are you using a flying folowcam or is it just a 360 cam on a stick? Im looking for a nice follow cam set-up for skydiving.
Hey really depends.. I use both..followcam from skybean and 360 on a stick :)) I think for skydiving selfie stick with 360 is way more suitable
I really don't know what to do...
I have a brand new 13m² Nightshade RS+ right here (but at 100kg it's basically an 11m²)! (My RS had a check coming up and selling it to Spain and getting the new one was the same price as the service)
But I'm a bit apprehensive, I really don't get to do speedflying that often, only from time to time in winter, really... Which is essentially the most dangerous/stupid way to Speedfly...
So basically I have to decide if I bite the bullet and sell the wing, or dedicate at least a little more of my time to speedflying... I'd be lying if I said the factory folded wing wasn't calling out to me a bit... :-D
Hahah hard decisions! :D Maybe you should just buy a bit bigger speedwing so you can really have it for every once in a while and still have enough margin 🤙 otherwise do it moree!!! If you love it, just do it more!!! 😍☀️
@@AddictionHappiness Good idea, that gave me one in turn! If I loose a bit of my "Corona Bump", that would be almost the same as buying a 15m2!
Also, on the xc wing I'm considering, I'm right between the sizes, so it would help that as well...

Beautiful video man! I have a question for you: Since you have both gliders, how would you compare the RS+ and the Fluid 2? Which one has better dive, better glide and which one is easier to take off?
Thanks David! Happy to seee you here 😍🤙 I will put it that way: Both are easy on take off - I personally trust both wings the same. There might be slightly better glide on Mirage..but out there in real world those differences are really really faded... However I would say Fluid gives way more RAW POWER feeling compared to Mirage. So on Fluid you get more agressive (but still 110% controllable) steering/feeling.. compared to Mirage that feels little smoothened out 🤙🤙

I have flown both gliders. The fluid is waaay more aggressive on the roll, pitch and yaw axis. The mirage rs fly alot steeper with open trimmers and are more suitable for speedriding than the fluid2. Imo the fluid is a bit faster and glides a tiny bit better. Both really excellent speedwings. It depends on your preference. The fluid is a fiesty one and I absolutely love it.

Hmm, you stear with C-risers. As a beginner I think this is a better disrtibuted input and doesn't slow your glider down as if you pull only the last row down with your brakes.

Always wondered why people pull the C lines instead of the normal steering lines. Does using the C lines make it more responsive? And do you pull them down or towards you? I read a guy read somewhere that it's best you hold the C lines high and do small movements rather than holding them low and pulling them too much?
Hey! For me personally I feel much more control over C at such a high speeds and fits my flying style and needs the best. Overall its more efficient for pitch and in general turn control...I'm gonna probably make video about it 🤙🤙
