My wife found a mistake that Paolo missed: at around 4:20 you place two yellow workers in the same region, which the rules say isn't allowed for initial setup.
I found this game to be fairly simple, like any new game, it takes time to adjust to a slightly different mechanic, and teaching this to a non-gamer would be difficult. Overall I felt the game flows well and after the first round you see it as a worker placement with a slight twist regarding the payment via the dice roll. I really enjoy this game, it has many paths to victory and it doesn't force you to have to focus on everything on the board.
I love your videos. They are my first resource for deciding to make a purchase decision. Second, they are great for reminding me how to play after I have had time to forget the rules. And third, they are a prime source of entertainment. Thank you. I just wanted to point out here, that at 18:29, Jen would have placed her meeples to the far right in the empty city spaces to break majority ties, correct?
Great Video as usual. One rather important thing: jenns wood that was acquired in the city would have to come from the fields, not from the "wood reserve".
21:13 Jen can only get the 5 wood from machico if she has access to it. i.e. has a worker in a field with wood, or a worker in the center of region 3 and 2.
i don't know if you saw, but i did a preview of panamax at essen. all i know about that game was in that preview, actually. it looks very cool though, and considering how good madeira is, i've got a good feeling about it too!
Main issue with the Piracy dice is you don't get to do the extra "post payment" bonus action, which can be very lucrative (especially if you place your field workers well). so if you use more piracy dice than your opponents, there's a good chance that they'll get a lot more done than you...
***** Açores you pronounce like Athores with the hard "th" of "thought" and pronouncing every single letter after that . Azores is like "A soars" but with a gentle "s" like the zed in "zone".

it was already noted... thanks :)
Sorry, I meant 18:29 in the Extended Play.
Ah sorry - already corrected in the extended video. I don't get the annotations on the mobile device.
Your first workers can only be placed in different regions.
It was already noted... Please turn on the Klingon subtitles to see where Richard goofs up… Thanks :)
Paulo Renato Sorry for that.
briefly. when Jen took 5 wood, she would not be able to claim all 5 because she didn't have access to it?
timestamp please
I know panamax isn't out yet, how would you compare it to that if possible?

Is there any real penalties for using the piracy dice? seems everything is positive, why wouldn't you use it?

Açores is the Azores islands.
hehe, i wouldn't quite know how to pronouce that either! :)

Klaus Nehren Actually, "Açores" namely the "ç" is an "s" sound. "As-sores". I I am fluent in Portuguese.
complicated doesn't begin to describe this game
