      Thank you so much for watching! 😘🙏♥️
      Yes, this Conver TdM is so wonderful & shuffles like a dream too!
      But since you mentioned your favourites this year in TdM, for me they would the newest Noblet by Artisan Tarot & my friend Mendy’s Tarot Gelato! 🥰

      @@musingsbymascha the plastic Gelato TDM by your friend Mendy is what I’m going to get next I hope. I’m in need of a plastic TDM and I saw she made a version and I strongly feel like that is going to be another workhorse deck for when I’m by water and traveling. Here in Austin we have a lake, so it would be a perfect deck for outdoors and camping! Thank you for introducing us to her beautiful creations. Xoxo

    I am not a collector nor a tarot historian, so I approach a deck like this from a very different viewpoint than a collector or an historian would. This is the first Kickstarter that I have ever backed. I was holding out for modern/linen card stock. I know that I won’t use a deck that is any larger than tarot size, so the size of the deck is important to me (which is why I don’t have a Dodal yet). I don’t want a deck that is too thick or card-boardy, nor do I want sharp edges. I want clean, sharp lines on a white background. I want a traditional deck with a traditional color palette, but a bit softer and a little less garish than is currently available (i.e. forest green vs. kelly green). This is probably all blasphemy to all the Marseilles geeks out there! I also want a simple, traditional back. I want it to be comfortable to shuffle. This deck ticked all the boxes for me. I had planned on getting the CBD deck along with his book in order to study Marseilles more intentionally, but I couldn’t bring myself to purchase the deck. KF did some color and line comparisons with the CBD and this deck, and this one won me over. Unfortunately, I will have to wait towards the end of the year to receive it. Thank-you for a great review. 💕

      Hi Barbara,
      Thank you so much for watching and your in-depth comment! 💕 And how special that this deck is your first kickstarter campaign! What a fantastic choice! I'm so thrilled to hear that this restoration of N.Conver deck by Artisan Tarot has ticked all your boxes!
      For me too, the size of the cards and cardstock are very important, and I myself prefer the cards to be of a standard tarot size or even smaller, as I have tiny hands. The colours in this deck are so very beautiful!
      Please keep me posted and let me know your thoughts once your copy of this deck arrives. 💕
      P.S. Dodal comes in a few different sizes restored by a few different people...I have 6 different versions of it! Ooops! LOL!

    I initially was not crazy about another Conver coming out. I was just like “why!?” But after seeing it I backed it. It actually is unique. And I think that’s a hard thing to accomplish when you are reproducing a deck that has been done so many times. I wish they were square cut! Thank you my sister 😘

    I'm torn about this one, to be honest. If the cardstock is like Pagan Otherworlds, that's a huge thing. It seems to have better coloration than the Millennium Edition, so it would be a plus not to have to stare at that garish yellow, but in comparison to CBD TdM I'm not sure if this is a fundamentally important step forward. We already have about a dozen other editions of Conver still in print. It's a bit superfluous especially because it's just a re-drawing. I could see myself supporting it if they would create a mini edition - I would use a more portable version for sure. Another reason why it's worth supporting is because it might serve as encouragement for other creators to work on more TdM decks. But there are so many beautiful decks that they could restore and I would support it in a hearbeat! But yet another Conver... I don't know.

      Hi Matt! Thank you so much for watching and for your sincere comment!
      Truth be told, I never really have been drawn to the Millennium Edition (well, I guess because I love my Pablo's Marsella so much that I never had the need, plus sacred geometry and precision are not of my interest personally) and I do not own a copy of it. But I do have and treasure my indie CBD (which I received from Yoav Ben Dov himself) along with the Poncet Conver and of course Yves Reynaud's reproduction.
      I think the linework in this newest version of Nicolas Conver is the most refined I have seen & colour choices are outstanding to my aesthetic.
      I also think having printed it on this linen air-cushioned (contemporary and popular, if you will) cardstock has been a very clever step by Artisan Tarot who want to expose the beauty of TdM to the wider range of tarot readers.
      I myself truly hope that the Artisan Tarot will be restoring more historic Marseille tarot decks in the future! Just like you, I will be there to support them in a heartbeat!

      @@musingsbymascha I bought the Millennium Edition thinking I would like working with it, but somehow I am more drawn to Type I decks anyway, and even with Type II I prefer the messier ones. It's hard to explain why. :D As far as this one goes, I might support them really because I want TdM Kickstarters to be successful, hopefully, we'll get more of them. In case the folks from the Artisan Tarot are listening, they can remember two names for their potential future projects: Payen and Rolichon. They might not be bestsellers, but I know there are many of us who would back those in a heartbeat. :D

      @The Artistry of Tarot hi Mendy!😘♥️
      yes, the cardstock of this Conver to me is similar to Pagan Otherworlds but it is not exactly the same. The ‘linen’ texture is more pronounced in the deck featured here & it has that air-cushion feel reminiscent of the linen cardstock we are used to seeing in playing cards.
      I really do not know if this cardstock is exactly the same that the creators used for their trump release though.

      @@mattkiraly9869 oh yes! I’m all for the Payen! 😍I’d love to see it restored!🤩 I held off purchasing it for the longest time, mistakenly thinking it’d be Dodal alike! I purchased Yves’ reproduction of it last year & I adore it! It’s such a great historic Type I tarot! I think it truly does need more love!
      I also love the Riversaltes as it’s the beautiful re-envisioned version of it!

    Hi Mascha. I wonder what you thoughts are on the differences, pros and cons of reading with the Tarot de Marseille versus the RWS? I bet many of us would be so interested on your thought s about this. Thanks for your great heart felt videos. Anne

    • @musingsbymascha
      @musingsbymascha  3 роки тому

      Hi Anne!
      It’s a wonderful future video idea! 🥰
      The major difference is, of course, the illustrated scenic minors versus TdM pips. So for me, reading with Marseille tarot gives more freedom for interpretation. E.g. if we have a look at 3 of Swords in RWS, it’s not easy to interpret it as a positive or neutral card to a querent, when they see the card itself in front of them.
      If those same 3 of Swords is pulled out in a reading with Marseille, it’s meaning will be interpreted more based on the this particular card interaction with other cards.
      I’m curious to hear your thoughts on it, too!

    • @annerobinson2288
      @annerobinson2288 3 роки тому +1

      @@musingsbymascha Well, it's easier to see the general appeal of the RWS( with the illustrated minors) or the even the Thoth( with all those myriad symbols) , but when it comes to Marseille, it's difficult to say what the system is. My understanding is that the Majors are read in France more than the Minors. Not sure about in Switzerland or Italy but I assume the Europeans have historically only read with the Majors. So have we outside of that tradition forced the minors into our readings of the Marseille? As far as the books go, it seems there is no general agreement on the meanings of the cards. I'm referring to Sylvie Simon's book Tarot based on the T de M, or Ben Dov's book, or David's book or on and on. It just seems hard to get a consistent understanding of the card meanings. Some depend on numerology but there's no one system there either! Whereas Waite and Crowley took care of that by laying down the law on what the meanings were! LOL There's no "author" of the Marseille.
      That being said, I LOVE Marseille and feel more connected to it in an almost mystical way. Like maybe I was a reader using the Marseille in a past life. I do have French ancestry so who knows? I'm not a hard fast believer in past lives, but it's possible.
      My only frustration is settling on the general meanings of the cards. Really feeling confident that i know what I'm doing and feel secure with the cards. Ben Dov's method of linkage from one card to another is fine, but I don't think it's the way it was read traditionally. Yada yada yada,.........sorry to go on and on!
      Do you read professionally for others with the Marseille?
      i agree with what you said about the 3 of Swords. And darn it if that isn't imprinted in my brain!
