- There is a new health threat tonight in Hawaii. Flowing lava from the Kilauea volcano has now reached the Pacific Ocean, creating a toxic stew. Mark Strassmann reports.

Well, technically it's an event... It's not typical as in every day, but every few decades the island has a growth spurt. If I'm not mistaken, it's usually growing, but right now it's kinda doing it faster than usual. Bad news for locals for now, but it shouldn't result in any horror stories other than mostly property loss. I think what makes this news is that so many people are being displaced all at once, and then there's the geothermal plant dramaz...

sea level? I don't think it's enough to have a dramatic effect on the oceans. hurricane is different because maybe that could make the glass and ash spread to other islands.
