Don’t worry, you are normal😊 It is an unwritten rule for all Insomnias to finally think they have found their bias only to second guess yourself and realize that it is going to be a tough choice since each member is talented and lovable. It is virtually impossible to pick up bias with these girls because they’re all so amazing!
Insomnicsy is THE source of amazingly made videos for international InSomnia. Notably, she has a series of videos called "This Is ___", which has accumulated three seasons so far (2020, 2021, 2022), with each video 7 minutes long. This is mostly just personality stuff, very few music clips, so you get 21 minutes of each member being herself, for a total of 147 minutes "guide" to the girls (plus one extra episode for the group itself in 2020 season). All the other videos on her channel are also amazing, and even the Dreamies themselves watch it.
Insomnicsy's channel is basically mandatory watching for all new stans at this point, I still think she has the single best K-pop fan channel on the entire internet.
Main lead and sub. The sub vocalist is the support vocalist. They are regular singers with no special roles in the layout of the song. They will often have more unique voices and often found on prechoruses/verses. Some people call them filler but I disagree since a lot of the time their voices tend to be very iconic. They just dont USUALLY do the heavy lifting. Leads will often start songs or do a part of the main chorus, the main will usually do the heavy lifting like the hardest parts, high notes and be involved in the development of the song like the background vocals. In dc's case both Yoohyeon and Siyeon fit main position since both do the high notes and choruses but Siyeon gets the position since she does most of the heavy lifting and the hardest parts in the songs. She also does all the bg vocals for their promotional titles. Similarly with the rappers the lead will lead into thr heavier parts of the main rapper and the sub rapper tends to be more of a support rapper when needed. Main dancers get the dance break and lead dancers usually flank them so as to even out any imbalance in the skill between the main and non dancers. The mains will also often represent the group in the main industry. In the case of DC, Siyeon still does the bg for promotional songs as mentioned before but Yooh shares a lot of the main vocal responsibilities now like the high notes and sometimes does bg vocals on bsides. However all of them have done a high note at some point and participated in the chorus so nobody actually fits sub vocal technically. And they don't really have a big need for the whole gap between dance skills thing because all of them are above average dancers with different styles. Mains are also usually the most stable and strong, like Yooh despite being amazing has mentioned she tires out from all the high notes during reason while Siyeon can keep going, SuA can do a high note immediately before and after a super intense dance break etc.
This was the best description I've ever seen of their group dynamic when it comes to the music side of things! This is what I always want to say to new InSomnia but have a hard time articulating it this well! Thank you! ^_^
The secret to having a Dreamcatcher bias is that you don't. I was originally a Sua bias when I first started stanning them with Scream back in 2020, but I've more or less given up at this point. Somebody different wrecks me every time I watch them.

The quality of their music, their live singing, their originality, the freedom the company gives them, they got everything that should be the standard in a perfect world. Also, you should try to give a chance to rock/metal after listening to more Dreamcatcher, I'm sure you can find something you will like. Usually main vocalists are advanced at everything, but lead vocalists may only excel in a particular style, e.g. JiU has an angelic whispery voice, and Yoohyeon has a sweet lighter tone and strong belting, but Siyeon can literally sing anything.
In the K-Pop industry, a Main Dancer/Vocalist/Rapper is the leader of that position. The best dancer/vocalist/rapper. Contrast to that, a Lead Dancer is a member who's a distinguished dancer, who "leads" to the dance highlight, the "kill moment". Lead vocalists and rappers do the same. (: I think there is a big chance that, if you like Dreamcatcher, you can come to like Rock at least. For me it's the other way around, I hated 99,9% of pop music before Dreamcatcher, now they and Billlie are my favourites and I listen to some other groups (it sometimes helps that I don't understand the lyrics, though.) So I'd say I only "hate" 95% - 90% now. (I don't hate it, of course, I just think it's bland and boring for the most part.) Regarding biases, I settled on this seemingly contradicting standing: I am OTDCC (Dreamcatcher Company), because I love the members, but I get also time and time again wrecked by their performance director and choreographer Hwang Sooyeon & her dance team and their CEO-nim is the cutest boss ever and overall they seem to treat Dreamcatcher very well and they seem just like one big group of friends by now. At the same time, I have a serious celebrity crush on SuA, the only one I ever had. She is my favourite idol overall. As many before me, I recommend or inofficial fandom president (or head of marketing? I don't want to disregard Ryu Sera) Insomnicsy for a deep dive, especially her "This is..." series.
Oh, I've gone through hurdles when it comes to biases as well, I think. Some InSomnias might have had it worse, lol. My first "bias" was Dami, as she was the only one I recognized as a Dreamcatcher member during Mixnine, the show. That's when my sister introduced me to them, I think. Or was Chase Me and Good Night my first introduction... I can't 100% remember. I knew about them since 2017, and she showed me Minx as well. Thank you sis 💛 Then I changed to Siyeon because of her vocals. I didn't stan Dreamcatcher yet, but I watched all of their comebacks and thought Siyeon killed it. Then, when I did start stanning Dreamcatcher, I started watching their non-music content, Vlives, etc. I fell in love with JiU and SuA. I had Gahyeon as a bias-wrecker at the start of this bias era. So now, for many years, JiU and SuA have been my biases, and they are still going strong today. Gahyeon is no longer my bias-wrecker because no members can top JiBo (JiU and SuA's real names put together, minJI + BOra, JiBo 😊).

I know others have probably already clarified "main" vs "lead", but it's a thing that confused me as a Westerner when I first got into K-pop just a few years ago. In the US, main and lead mean the same thing, especially in music: the term "lead vocalist" is common but if you said "main vocalist" everyone would know you meant "not the backup vocalist". But in K-pop, "main" means someone is literally at the top of that category in that group (whether vocalist, rapper, or dancer). There may be more than 1 "main" in a group. "Lead" as far as I can tell, means someone who is also just brilliant in the category, but just not quite the level of their group's "main". Often (IMO) a "lead" would be a "main" in another group. Like all 7 of our Dreamcatcher girls can hold their own, for instance. And then "sub vocalist" or "vocalist" ("sub rapper" or "rapper", etc) means that person is known for highlighting that skill, but not at the same level as some others. Basically, I find the distinctions often very random and sometimes harsh, but in the case of DC, when Sua goes all out as a dancer, it's just tough not to realize she is doing something different than even the other GREAT DC dancers like JiU, Dami, YooHyeon, etc. When Siyeon does something like her Speechless cover, which even Disney "liked", you realize she's just something else, taking nothing away from all 6 others being beautifully strong singers. Their title tracks are rock and metal infused, but the B side has same vocal and production level, but can be any genre.... Jazz, Reggie, Trap, EDM, name it, Dreamcatcher has it :D To name 4 B-Sides where YOU will lose it: Red Sun - Special Clip Back or White - Dingo Poision Love - Self made M/V Sahara - Self made M/V FYI My personal favorite B-Sides are Propose - Color Coded and Don't Light my Fire - Color coded, but I love their harder sound so handle with care :D

I know others have probably already clarified "main" vs "lead", but it's a thing that confused me as a Westerner when I first got into K-pop just a few years ago. In the US, main and lead mean the same thing, especially in music: the term "lead vocalist" is common but if you said "main vocalist" everyone would know you meant "not the backup vocalist".
But in K-pop, "main" means someone is literally at the top of that category in that group (whether vocalist, rapper, or dancer). There may be more than 1 "main" in a group. "Lead" as far as I can tell, means someone who is also just brilliant in the category, but just not quite the level of their group's "main". Often (IMO) a "lead" would be a "main" in another group. Like all 7 of our Dreamcatcher girls can hold their own, for instance. And then "sub vocalist" or "vocalist" ("sub rapper" or "rapper", etc) means that person is known for highlighting that skill, but not at the same level as some others.
Basically, I find the distinctions often very random and sometimes harsh, but in the case of DC, when Sua goes all out as a dancer, it's just tough not to realize she is doing something different than even the other GREAT DC dancers like JiU, Dami, YooHyeon, etc. When Siyeon does something like her Speechless cover, which even Disney "liked", you realize she's just something else, taking nothing away from all 6 others being beautifully strong singers.
