I'll just add my comment about the Weapons Checklist to this post since it isn't being added to the original posts. If you notice some of the firearms say, "inspired." The reason for this is twofold. 1) The guns' designs are registered trademarks and Hasbro doesn't want to pay a licensing fee to the trademarks holders and 2) It's to avoid litigation. It also explains why the M16s have Kalashnikov stocks and why DIAL-TONE's rifle has a "selfie stick," on it. Hasbro Legal has determined that these, (and other,) comestic changes are enough to keep Hasbro from hit with a cease & desist, (or a lawsuit,) from the gun manufacturers claiming copyright infringement. When studying the _Classified_ weapons design while not being direct 1:12 scale copies of the real world weapons _Snake Pants_ and _Good Guy 9_ were able to determine which real world weapon was the inspiration for the version that we're seeing in the _Classified Series._ Also, some of the guns are fictitious, (e.g. HELIX's and CRAZYLEGS's pistol and SHOOTER's sniper rifle.) Being that I'm hella anal, (in addition to seeing the opportunity to inject my head canon into the JOEverse at large,) 😅 I took it upon myself to name the made up firearms. Even though the names of the fictitious firearms are made up they're not just random names that I picked out of thin air. The names of the fictitious weapons are relevant to G.I. JOE and COBRA and they fit the characteristics of the character, (or the gun.) I'll leave up to you, (and others,) to figure out the rhyme and reason behind why I gave certain guns certain names. When you do you'll probably think to yourself, "Why didn't Hasbro do that?" 😅 The fictitious firearms for COBRA come from M.A.R.S. While the JOEs are supplied by Van Mark Industries. Van Mark Industries harkens back to the _"Million Dollar Medic"_ episode of the Sunbow series. LIFELINE saves Owen Van Mark and his daughter Bree from a COBRA attack. Later it's revealed that Owen Van Mark is a defense contractor. As I was naming the JOE team's weapons it dawned on me that Van Mark Industries would be suppling the JOE team their armaments the same way M.A.R.S. supplies COBRA Command. I'm surprised that Van Mark Industries wasn't further ingrained into the JOE mythos because Owen and Bree Van Mark would have made great rivals to DESTRO and M.A.R.S.
Two final points on the checklist. With the exception of the KA-BAR, the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife and the dagger the knives aren't named. The reason for that is _Good Guy 9_ and _Snake Pants_ are gun guys and they don't know anything about knives. Hopefully one day I'll come across a knife guy who'll id the knives or I'll take time out to identify them. Finally, I only update the master list twice a year, (on June 30 and New Year's Eve,) As figures are released during the year those weapons are identified and listed on a post in the weapons thread. For example, since G.I. JOE Day is the next event I'll add a post with the figures shown on that day under the title _G.I. JOE Day Weapons._ Thanks for the shot out. I'm sure that _Snake Pants_ and _Good Guy 9_ will appreciate it.
I was wondering about the knives side of things, so that makes total sense. Thanks again for putting together an amazing resource. I really enjoy what you did with the MARS and Van Mark Industries weaponry. Very clever.
@@SharkEyesToyView Oh. I'm glad to see that you "caught that move," and you saw what I did there. 👍😄 I've been meaning to shoot Lenny a message on Instagram telling him that before the _Classified Series_ raps one of the JOEs needs to come with a honey badger and a mongoose animal companion. Again, I just needed to give you a heads up because I know some 🍆head is going to be all up in your comments talking about "such and such isn't a real gun," or '"x," gun isn't made by "x," manufacturer because it has "x," "y," and "z," parts on it.
Love your reviews Adam. I know there are a lot of issues with this figure, but it still rates as one of my top 10 from 2024 just due to the color scheme and aesthetics. I'm ok with the weapons re-use, but wish they would make them better. Far too many are difficult to hold or get into a real life looking pose. Keep up your great reviews and awesome photos. Say hi to your dog for me!
Hey Jay, thanks for the kind words, mate. The figure itself isn't bad, in fact I like it, but yeah the weapons suck. After I ceased filming, I looked down at the stock of the AR and it was bent in the arms of the figure. That just shouldn't happen, but of course that's what happens when they are of gummy nature. And yep, sometimes the actual builds of the figures lead to the mishandling you speak of. Thanks again for tuning in, Jay. One of my dogs is currently punching out Zzzz as I watch a YT video about corruption in Chicago haha
What a cool looking figure! The Iron Grenadiers always reminded me of a Nazi death squad because of their helmet shape and overall sinister look. It would have been cool see him come with a HK XM8 rifle.
I still don’t have this figure actually other than ordering from pulse I’m likely going to have to wait on the other retailers to restock this at normal price or order from pulse this is the only one I’m missing from that wave Great review of the ol Grenadier
Nice one! I think I liked him a bit more than you did, but there are still things to be desired with it. I agree on the reuse, and if they're going to go that route, why NOT give him the Uzi? Their choices are maddening sometimes.
I definitely like the figure, but it's also difficult for me to get excited about something that was delayed and has been out now in the States for 2 and a bit months.
@SharkEyesToyView now you know how we feel 😆 seriously though, I've never seen this dude in a store and likely never will. But it sucks you haven't been able to get him before now.
I'm not sure I understand Hasbro's fixation on removeable accessories that DON'T NEED to BE removeable. IG helmets, Viper goggles, Dreadnoks/Wild Bill's removeable glasses. They're a pain the ass and not doing us any favors, and wouldn't it actually be cheaper just to mold them on, where appropriate? gluh. Anyway, I do really like this fig. 👍🏻
The old adage 'if ain't broke, don't fix it' is very much applicable to this line. If a Viper had an unmasked face sculpt where the goggles could actually be put on his eyes, sure give us removable goggles. Don't just do things for the sake of doing them unless they can be done flawlessly. I agree tho, the figure at least looks nice.
Excellent figure can’t wait

I absolutely love this figure. One of my favorites of the year. Hopefully we get a retro version that is version 1 of the og o ring figure.

Yeah he's a nice figure and the HK XM8 would suit him. Thanks for checking out the review, Jonny.

@@SharkEyesToyView oh I know you do! I'm glad to see you guys get some stuff first for a change. Especially since it's someone I like 😂
