Veteran Fiddler Darol Anger rambles on about a relatively (compared to the violin itself) new development in bowed string instruments: the 5 String Fiddle. He offers tips, trips, tricks, examples and instruction on his Fiddle School website. Besides the 600+ regular lessons, there are now almost 4000 video response pairs in a searchable (by subject or tune name) database.
