Your masterful bass line are a perfect complement to Judith’s wonderful songs. Thanks.
Judith Owen and Leland Sklar; two high quality musicians. They are a delight and a privilege to listen to. Bravo.
I love when the bass part is simple and tasteful, because the bass is already the dominant instrument. Haha and I’m a singer guitar player. The bass is like the bottom 1/3 of the sound to me. Great show!!!! Thx!
Leland, your base line on No More Goodbyes would make a beautiful stand alone song.
You have such a kind heart. I was driving down my street coming home and saw a young family with two large dogs and even the dogs had on costumes and it did feel melancholic and I wondered if people had planned ahead for a safe, socially distant Halloween. Thank you for the songs- both were soulful. Still laugh at the producer switch because it is so great.
Sometimes it's cool to hear you play alone/soloing, without accompanying a tune. Thanks, Leland.
I like this a lot. Your contribution to this song is soothing & admirable -Thanks for the Sunday selection!
Beautiful songs.
Two beautiful songs with bass lines beautifully played. Another opportunity to escape into the world of a talented songwriter’s making.
Stay safe and stay well!
Thank you Lee, you faithfully accompany us through time with your fantastic music. meanwhile we have reached the 2nd lockdown (light).
Stay healthy !
A squeak like that, might require WD-50!😜😂🤣
There were some rather inventive social distancing means of trick or treating in Colorado. People using chutes, Portioned out ziploc bags on tables, or racks with clips with signs saying "take one".
I'm sure I've mentioned this before; but my bookstore has had Judith's version of "Smoke on the Water" on our instore playlist. She is just so much fun, and completely brilliant!
Brett, which bookstore do you own? I live in Denver - just curious.
@@davidmarais1048 LOL... I don't own it, I only work there.
@@brettmarlar4154 Name of store? We love bookstores!
@@davidmarais1048 Barnes & Noble Denver West.
Love Judith Owen’s songs and you always give them full justice with your talent and amazing Warwick signature !
Thank you very much, dear Leland, for giving peace and music in these scary times we’re in🙏👍😊
I LOVE the “Producer Switch”. 🔥🔥😂😂
Excellent writing and flawless execution Lee! Thank you...a real blessing!
Wow, two beautiful tracks👍 . I’m noticing that the tracks feel better with your bass being slightly louder in the mix. Nice one😀😀😀
I prefer them that way. ☺
Beautyful songs with a beautyful bassline on a beautyful bass, played by a beautyful human being.
Leland what a beautiful subject, thank you ... 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 ...... 👉 ...... .🎅 ..... ☝ .... VOTE
Beautiful songs! We were disappointed with the lack of trick or treaters, understanding why, but we had hoped to get more than we did. We were being responsible and respectful, but also knew how hard it can be on the kids when maybe 1 in 10 houses even considered handing out treats. Anyway, thank you very much for those very pretty songs and playing. Always appreciated.
Helene here. You are ALWAYS threatening to get some WD-40 for your chairs! 😁😘. By now, it’s become part of the charm that makes up your homey and warm vibe...a warm hug to you.
Like Fibber promising to straighten the closet?
2 flats day! Beautiful songs.
I never would have known of Judith without your channel. An artist.
A fabulous moment with Judith Owen...
After the Warwick signature with highly desirable illuminated "producer switch", let say the "squeaky chair" is also a kind of valued instrument in your videos. I don't know if WD 40 could solve that problem, as it generally originates from used friction parts used to "brake" the back movement (no oil there), or from a pneumatic gear that has lost it's gaskets smoothness. Time for a thorough cleaning and eventual replacement of parts. New rollers are also a great idea as most can easily be replaced by larger, non floor staining, ball joints mounted units. A hot rod on 5 wheels!
I am so glad that Judith is recording as much as possible because I'm getting so hooked! 😅
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed hearing your sweet bass lines over the decades, not initially knowing it was you, and will enjoy them into the future.
You are a good human been and a fantastic musician..from Ouest of Montreal Quebec
Light up fret markers are cool, especially when the lights are down and need to play things, lol
Just Lovely!
Just beautiful 😭
I love this album so much ❤️ Mystery reminds me of some pretty short piano practice pieces such as asBurgmüller 🎶 Your bass line is GOD✨✨✨
Ooh, I like the cascade of triplets in the second song....
Thanks Leland! Just watched Jude's livestream from today! She is awesome :D
Beautiful Lee - both Judith songs. Thank you very much.
I know how you feel about the Warwick. I have a mid 90s Thumb bass that's an amazing instrument.
Such a joy listening to your talent Mr Sklaar. Wow.
Cosmic coincidence that you chose these songs for today, All Saints Day? I heard this right after signing off from a very moving service at my church where we honored the many in our extended community who have left this world in the past year. And after a most somber Halloween - although I was able to participate in a very-safely-arranged drive thru trick or treat in downtown Pasadena yesterday, so that was a highlight to bring a little joy and a semblance of normalcy to the kids who participated. Heavy weekend. I’m gonna go for a walk and just enjoy being outside. Thanks for this Lee.
Well that's your Christmas present sorted!! Box of WD40 on the way LOL..... only joking....
Best wishes to Judith, she's a fantastic performer, many more people should know...
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing it with us! :)
Thanks for turning me on to Judith Owens. I had never heard of her until today. Looked her up here on UA-cam and found a video of you, Judith, Pedro and Gabriella playing a concert on Sala Galileo TV. Loved it. She has a new fan.
I feel like we're in the eerie calm before the storm that's going to hit the US on Tuesday/Wednesday. Feeling really, really uneasy about it all, but, thankfully, your posts keep me a little less anxious every time.
Beautiful as always from Judith Owen and co. Thanks and a sign of appreciation 🖕🖕🖕
Thank you for not going bad, Lee.
Wasn't expecting this👍😎
Thanks man
👍😎❤🖖
Love brother
Great Playing Leland!!!!! Yeah she feels the songs......Great writing!! Again so cool you get to do that for a living Lee!!!
hahahahahaha.....Producers switch#6 all the way!!!! That is Awwwwesome......Great bass love the wood color.
Love the lights.
You be safe Leland....Pass out those masks to your boys/girls in the studio they will take it from you....the know you just care!!!!!
Especially that drummer kunkle??? hahaha DO I have that name right???
Lee! It would be cool if you could make some demos of your awesome basses man! They are really unique
Wonderful song, wonderful harmonies following each other!
two beautiful songs
holding no grudge with containers of fudge. Judith is wonderful. schmancy bass. clubhouse needs a bass theme song!!
When we get our first gold album, I'm definitely upgrading my warwick to the custom shop version!
I am here since day 1 of the Channel... Now we are 140.000 and still getting more everyday.. love you Lee for your passion, your attitude, your thoughts, your music.. you are a part of my das since the beginning of the pandemic.. and in a few weeks there is the finger book under my christmas tree! Sending you love from germany! Stay safe, I will see you tomorrow... bye bye 🖕
Love Judith and these 2 songs. The Signature Warwick (and the player, of course) sounded particularly fantastic on these songs. I know you were using the 5 string Dingwall(s) on the most recent UA-cams you did with her and Pedro (maybe you needed the low B-string), but after Frankenstein, I’m liking the sound of the Warwick a lot. Just sayin’...
Where I live, kids walking around the neighborhood had already transitioned to kids dressing up and "trunk or treating" in church parking lots. The churches were ready last night. I suspect the kids in CA are doing similar things; church or private small parties.
I get the nostalgia factor, though. I've been feeling the same way since the "little" girls next door got too big to go around. They're both out of school, now. 😕 Time marches on.
She is such a talent. Great writer, great voice and great player, so glad you turned me on to her...Love your bass, and bass playing. Thank you , sir.
Bellissima canzone...👏🎸
Two amazing ballads. I'll be buying this CD for sure.
We put out a basket of candy with a sign to "Take 3 and Smile at the Doorbell Camera." We got one visit, a couple wearing masks and their very small child dressed as a dump truck. Many of us are hoping for an indication that next year will be better.
Hello Leland ! Ciao from Milano Italy ! Thank you ! Take care
Great Bass Tone🎶
Thx!
Oh, dear! Sorry, Mr Sklar, but "No more goodbyes" was a hard listen... even the third time. As parents (R.I.P) it cuts a bit too deep for me, still.
There's a soubriquet often used regarding Miss Bette Midler that is just as apt for Miss Judith Owen... divine! On All Saints day too. 🙏 (unintended pun)
Be well! ✌
P.s. 2 November was my Dad's birthday.
Thank You Lee 👍🏻
Ah, the Warwick! Hate to pick a favorite, but if I have to, that's it!
"I think it's true what they say about the squeaky wheel...always getting the grease" 😀
James Taylor would agree
@@sceiron1 well done! 😃
I think the songs would sound even better with the switch in the red position!
Is the chair squeaky? Really? A touch of the veggie smoothy revenge by any chance?
Judith Owen dances to a beat of a different drum. Great tunes though.
The tone of the first song captures the melancholia floating around right now.
PS: I am good to go on the XXL "beard" Tee. Thank you for your efforts in this regard.
A Sklarite tribesman in London.
Sublime tracks. Good thing you didn't rock the chair.
Anyone else getting some Christmas carol vibe in Mystery's bass line?
@@hanspeterlillese2225 No specific methinks, just the vibe.
Leland, take from a former bicycle mechanic, use Tri-flow. WD-40 is difficult to precisely apply. Stay healthy!!
Sunday afternoons are meant for “Taking Care of Business” ... just not overtime just “over time”.
is this the song she wrote for her father? I could be wrong...I remember it at HOB in Cleveland.
Yes it is...
Oh good I'm not senile yet...
I'm voting for Santa! How bad could that turn out? 😁
depends, how bad have you been? 😁 😉
@@sceiron1 that's very true! lol
nice
💕
I use baby oil for squeeks. ☺✌
There's a thought. My father always used 3-in-1. I just squeak....
Lithium grease works better than WD40. Anyway, despite the bruising time that afflicts us, I tried to make Halloween as light as it can be. I sent a video message to friends, holding a piece of clear plastic in front of my face. The joke: that piece of clear plastic is my Halloween mask.
Sir you came to Montreal in 2018 whit Phil Colins
The population of your music room has increased to 3. Be sure to get Santa to the polling place.
What amp are you using in that room?
Don't take that chair with you to any recordings. Love the melodic bass lines. Wondering how you record your bass for these videos.
I play the song from my lap top through a small Bose speaker and have a small bass amp next to me. Record it on my iPhone.
Thanks. Sort of a live recording.
Evening Leland
Hey!!!
3in1 oil works better !!
