  • Clips of Moelfre Lifeboat Day, 18th August 2012.
This year the weather was kinder and turned sunny through the display, but there was some sadness as it was the final display for Moelfre's Tyne Class Lifeboat 47-013 'Robert and Violet', which has been Moelfre's lifeboat for about 25 years.
Later in 2012, Moelfre Lifeboat Station is receiving its new Tamar Class boat and the boathouse itself is also to be replaced with a larger building to house the bigger boat.
This video starts with a clip of one of the performances from the Batala Samba Reggae band that entertained the crowds, before moving on to the display itself in the bay.
I took the videos using a Canon DSLR and those of the display were taken hand-held with a long zoom lens, about 300mm. Because of the long zoom, some of the clips are a bit shaky; maybe next time I'll try using a tripod.
My main interest is in photography. For photos of the event, take a look at my Facebook gallery on / btphoto.uk . My photos of Moelfre Lifeboat Days since 2006 are available at www.2eimages.co.uk/places/moelfre.
If you were there I hope you enjoyed the event, and thanks for watching this video.
