That goo on the suction cup will cause a mess in a number of years. there is a youtube video on it and mine causes a mess. now I have to clean it up and see if it will hold without all that goo on it. but it did hold for a long time and does not fall down like suction without the goo. after figuring out how to clean it off I will see if I want to buy another one. I did really like the strength this one has

I've had similar phone holders with that kind of locking/unlocking mechanism and they always seem to stop functioning after a few months.

Samsung note 9 is one of the best phone out there too.
True. I'm still using mine since Nov 2018. My only complaint is it overheats when it overheats in direct sunlight when the temperature is above 80F.

@@nayelipadilla7489 Which part isn't sticking properly? The adhesive is strong so it should have no problems sticking to the dash. The suction cup requires you to clamp down on the mechanism in order to stick properly to the metal plate.

Caution, a recommendation on this video ruined the plastic on my car's dashboard and caused a terrible discoloration. The video suggests using rubbing alcohol to clean up the area before mounting the device on the dashboard. I did that on my Toyota Prius and left with a discoloration on my dashboard which does not go away. It is an eyesore. According to my research this may not be fixable because plastic was damaged. I am writing this review to ask that part of the video removed so other viewers are protected. I wish I never watched this video before the installation, but unfortunately it's too late for me. The damage is done.
It is safe and easy to use isopropyl alcohol that is 70% or higher to wipe down hard surfaces in your vehicle. That includes steering wheel, dash, armrests, console, seat adjusters, shifter, cup-holders, doors, handles, and more. Thank you for your response. Apparently I have a 91% isopropyl alcohol and I used that one. And it ruined the appearance of my dashboard. That area is hazy now. So I am speaking from experience. I wish I did more research and that's my mistake. But I believe the video can inadvertently mislead others too. I know you have all the good intentions with this video, but dealing with car surfaces is tricky - and I learned it the hard way.

Hey. What if i want to put phone in Horizontal mode and record but i dont want anything in front view just fron glass and view. Is this possible? I saw that you are moving this telecope up and down + phone holder to horizotal. What if i want record only . Do i need to put "telescope arm" a bit up and then holde to horitoztal mode. I am Toyota hybrid driver.
You can adjust to any orientation allowed by the constraints of the placement on the dashboard and windshield. The parts of the mount will not intrude with the camera view.

It happens with all the mounts. It also depends on the quality of the car interior build if it dampens the vibration when driving. The best you can do is make sure all of the knobs are tightened and not loose.

I think these phone car mounting things is a serious racket, if you put one on the dash or your windshield it’s right in the middle of your view that’s a lot of stuff in the center of your dash , if you put it in your vents it’s gonna break your vents and your phone is going be getting heat on it from the vent even if you close it, and suction cups don’t work well, and always fail🤷🏽♂️But I guess it’s what we got to deal with

Does the plate that attaches to the dash come off or is it permanent?
It comes off but you may need to use a screwdriver to pry it because of the strong adhesive.

If you got a new car I don’t wanna put rubbing alcohol on the dash to eat a permanent circle in the dashboard so you don’t wanna do too big of a wiping area

@@Jay_Rule that’s still silly that’s just gonna break your mirror off ,the point is these things with phone are too clunky and heavy to be putting on mirrors and Vents ,and they’re in the way of view ,so we’re just screwed really , like I said this stuffs been float around forever and all this stuff is cheap junk the same products all of them ,and they aren’t great products at all like some people try to make them out to be, and they don’t work that good , I’ve had many of them like everybody else

@@Jay_Rule I do hear what you’re saying but it just gets on my nerves they make such a junk it doesn’t have to be that way, and these products usually damage your vehicle in some way, I got a new car and it has a car navigation system ,I don’t have to look at the phone no more for that, but it is nice to have something to hold it for you but I got tired of them things breaking and breaking stuff in my car and everything else, we all keep hoping some day they’ll have that good one one day, but they make same old plastic designs no matter what the name is on them
