This Overland is simply AWESOME.
I just took delivery on my 2015 model today and the ACC is a lot of fun to play with watching it coasting behind the car in front of me without touching the brakes and it resumed all buy itself without touching the gas pedal. That is pretty cool!
I was depressed emptying out my 2003 Overland…But I got over it real quick driving this new one off the lot. It's the shiznit.

I quite like this new Grand Cherokee. I got the chance to ride in one (granted I didn't get to drive it) and I fell in love with it. Very quiet and well put together interior and the Pentastar V6 has a surprising amount of thrust, but I suspect the 8-speed helps keep the revs where they need to be.

I cried at the end. I’m a die hard chrysler fan and have been since I was 5. What he said at the very end broke me, how just a few years ago it was supposed to be no Chrysler at all and now that they were given another chance, look at the products they've introduced. It’s simply ground breaking, from the Sebring to the 200 from the 2010 grand Cherokee to the 2018 from the caliber to the dart from the patriot to the renegade , from the old compass to the new compass from the town and country to the Pacifica its all great great great work. Well don’t FCA I’m proud.

In my country (Dominican Republic) the price for de GC overland 2014 is 71000 dollars .
I have seen a half dozen reviews by a half dozen different people and none of them have demonstrated one important feature of the Overland or the Summit. That feature is the POWER FOLDING OUTSIDE MIRRORS. A good feature to use in tight spaces like a small garage etc.
Because that is old tech from almost two decades ago

There is one Jeep Grand Cherokee in 2013 with a 3.6 engine, it has a mileage of almost 800,000 thousand kilometers or 497,096,954 thousand miles !! Not a problem except a broken gearbox !!
The background image on the uConnect screen can be changed, there are about a dozen different options so if you don't like the dried skin look you can pick something else :) thanks for the review!

Bought a brand new 2014 Jeep Grand Overland Diesel August 30, 2014 that has been in the shop for four times for a total of 15 days.
Shifting problems that the dealership SAID they fixed (still not working properly), Navigation stopped working, air suspension overheats, Radio problems, master window switch broken, glove box rod bent so the glove box didn't lock or close properly, I have it set up when the Jeep is turned off the the steering wheel moves up then when you start the Jeep again it goes back down that only works half the time.
I love how the Jeeps look, but I didn't purchase one because of exactly the reasons you are describing, huge reliability issues.
I love the look of the car, I have been thinking about to buy it for over a year, but every time I check the reviews on different sites it looks like they are having the same issues like yours that stops me to do it. Good luck.

I always laugh when anyone comments on a vehicles AUTOshift control lever/knob... saying it's "too fiddly" for example here in this video. I've never had a problem ever driving vehicles and I've likely driven nearly 100 different model vehicles over the years... besides, manual transmissions are "fiddly"...
Auto transmissions require you to know how to use them.... no different than an clutch and stick shift... or a TV remote....

I own an Overland 4x2 One I find it rather noisy at Highway speeds needs some mor sound deadening material and should have opted for Michelin Tires. Watch the Dealer add ons and Capital Cost - that majic $ 5000 increase to my Lease was no where near Jeeps Advertised prices..
There is swidish review of this car, they call it the worst most insecure car they have reviewed in 20 years... Look for it if you think to buy this car
There is also Swedish review that calls it excellent, so what?. It is all competition, of course they are going to bash another brand. There are good and bad reviews of any car out there. I prefer to read owners reviews to help with my final decision.
That review was for 2012. The Swedish "Moose test" review for 2014 said the JGC handled the test perfectly.

If you want to drive a 4 runner because it's a better off road vehicle with more interior space... just say that.
Because I don't think that $5000 more for a Grand Cherokee Overland compared to a Top 4runner is anywhere NEAR enough to complain about. Especially since other than off road performance and cargo space, the GC literally does everything else better... for only $5000 more.

Instead of focusing on providing more and relevant info, this man tries to be way too poetic.
How the drive and handling (two different things) compares hasn't been covered. Vague statements like "this car drives nearly (!) as nice as it's cabin". Such a statement is simply useless. Nor has boot space been addressed or space on the backseats. Long range tests (are the seats really good?), shock absorption and suspension, seat adjustments, user-friendlessness of info-system, weight, and you name it. Lot of info missing.
And then there's that weird statement of its acceleration (is a little bit tepid?). Just a little bit huh? What does that mean? Again a statement which leaves you guessing. But as the tachometer needle is pointing upward the pace goes up? What?
Just provide the facts man. If I need poetry I'll read a book not written by Autoguide personnel..
