Warren Webb it's the swedish version of a life time of war. the swedish version is such a master piece, dont really have the same meaning as the english version. this one is very deep and meaningfull.

Translation of the Swedish version for you:
I look around and see my home disappear
My time at home now feels all too short
Only young, barely a man when duty called me
If I get to see my home again I know not
Among fellow from my village so I pulled into battle
      And the world burned
      Because the war can
      Destroy a man
I give my life, for my (home)country
      But who miss me?
      So see me as the
      A husband, a friend
Father and son, who never comes home
      But who mourn me?
Went out in war for Sweden, was baptized in blood
Out there death is waiting, not heroism
In fields where the brethren fall, you will not hear song
      Challenge our fates, once again
      Far from home
Be baptized and die in battle
      And the world burned
      Because the war can
      Destroy a man
I give my life, for my (home)country
      But who miss me?
      So see me as the
      A husband, a friend
Father and son, who never comes home
      But who mourn me?
And when my time has run out
      Who cares then?
      They fight on
Can a soldier get a worthy end?
      Get to sleep
      Disappear
      And never wake
      Because the war can
      Destroy a man
I give my life, for my (home)country
      But who miss me?
      So see me as the
      A husband, a friend
Father and son, who never comes home
      But who mourn me?

Some parts sound VERY familiar to Swiss German, others not at all (which makes sense since the nordic languages and the swiss dialects are all variations of the germanic languages).
      This part for example:
      Och världen brann
      För kriget det kan
      Förgöra en man
Jag ger mitt liv för mitt fosterland
      Und d Wält brännt
      Wil chriäg, de chan
zerstöre en ma (actually you'd say "en ma zerstöre" but for the sake of 1:1 comparison)
Ig gib mis lebe für mis Vatterland (u -> ü is similar to o -> ö)

A bit like German to me.
Difficult language too if you don't speak it, but I think if your primary language already is a Germanic language, it shouldn't be too difficult to actually learn Swedish.

Here's my translation that also goes well with the melody. Let me know what you think.
I turn around to see my homestead fade away
I wish I could have stayed there, just another day
Not yet a man, though called to arms to do my part
Will I see my home again, I wish with all my heart
With kinsmen from my village I went out to war
    In a world of flames
‘Cause war surely can, devastate a man
I give my life, for my motherland
    But who’s missing me?
    So see me as them
    the husband and friend
the father and son, who’s never seen again
    But who mourns over me?
Went out to war for Sweden, baptized in blood
No gallantry awaits us, dying in the mud
In fields where friends has fallen, there’ll be no songs
Our fate once more we challenge, and marching on
    Far away from home
(To be baptized and die in war)
    In a world of flames
‘Cause war surely can, devastate a man
I give my life, for my motherland
    But who’s missing me?
    So see me as them
    the husband and friend
the father and son, who’s never seen again
    But who mourns over me?
And when my time is finally here
    Who’ll sing my song?
    They’re fighting on
I hope to die without much fear
I fall asleep, and fade away
    And never wake up
‘Cause war surely can, devastate a man
I give my life, for my motherland
    But who’s missing me?
    So see me as them
    the husband and friend
the father and son, who’s never seen again
    But who mourns over me?

    Has man gone insane
    A few will remain
    Who'll find a way
    To live one more day
    Through decades of war
    It spreads like disease
    There's no sign of peace
Religion and greed cause millions to bleed

    Translation according too google:
I look around and see my home disappear
My time at home now feels far too short
Just youth, hardly a man when the duty call me
If I get to see my home again I don't know
Among friends from my village, I went into battle
    And the world was burning
    For the war it can
    Destroy a man
I give my life for my motherland
    But who misses me?
So look at me like that
    A husband, a friend
Father and son who never come home
    But who is grieving me?
Went out in battle for Sweden, was baptized in blood
Out there, death is waiting, not heroism
In fields where cousins fall, no song is heard
    Challenges our destiny, once again
    Far from home
Be baptized and die in battle
    And the world was burning
And when my time has run out
    Who cares?
    They are fighting
Does a soldier have a worthy end?
    Get to sleep
    Disappear
    And never wake up
