This is probably the best lyrical deconstruction of religious hypocrisy I have ever heard. You simply cannot claim to worship an all-peaceful icon while demanding more war. Congratulations sir
I agree that Jesus was all peaceful and anti greed so much so even Jesus whipped people to get them out of the church selling goods he would definitely be anti war but even Jesus knew that peace couldn't always stop greed
YES! We are all one 🌌🌠 John 13:34 KJV ❤A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another❤
All-loving doesn't always mean all-peaceful. It's loving to forgive all who come to him, but it's also loving to execute judgement on the oppressors and murderers of the innocent. Psalms 103:6
@@AidanStrickland You just cited psalms 103:6, which actually means something very different from what you just said. Psalms 103:6 reads as follows “The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed” no where in here does it justify killing anyone, it calls for righteousness to those who HAVE BEEN oppressed. It is a call from the lord to free those who have been oppressed. I’m not going to shame you for your belief, no matter how sick, because I’ve found that shaming someone just won’t change their mind, but I do know for a fact that this kind of misuse of the Bible is what leads to war and genocide to begin with. The best kind of change is made when we learn to drop our weapons and accept those who we disagree with, even those who don’t accept us, and you cannot subvert the words of the Bible to fit your own agenda driven by hate. You can’t find a cure if your solution is war. You can choose to condemn others and feel safe in your bubble, or co-exist with people and make a change through understanding and love, no war and murder, “When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men”Matthew 6:5

exactly. we need to do everything we can to share this music and ideology, make it "go viral" if you will. the world needs unity and empathy so badly right now
This is amazing.I'm sure Pete Seeger, Utah Phillips, Woody Guthrie and many more would give a standing ovation! This made my day, and I can't wait to show my grandmother and father. They will love it!
Keep in mind that Jesus said that there would be hypocrites that would cause harm in his name. Which is why he was against a religion being made in his name. What he actually preached was love, kindness, to feed and comfort the needy, to heal others. Pretty much everything the conservatives call "woke" I'm not a believer either, I just know what he actually preached in the books.
@@Arisaem I was reading in the 2nd chapter of Romans about how those who claim to follow Jesus and yet do bad things are the reason why so-called "Christianity" is so bad-mouthed nowadays. Everyone knows about John 3:16, but a lot of Christians forget about the next verse, which basically says that Jesus came into the world to save it, not condemn it. Not that there won't be judgment cuz of sin, but Jesus came to save us from that judgment if we just trust Him, and He can help us be the kind of person who wouldn't be anything like those talked about in this song.
Imagine presenting the real Jesus to counter the false Christ many are celebrating! Well done, and please continue writing and singing protest songs, exposing the lie concocted to justify a power grab. I fled church some years ago because of it. I love this song and the rhetorical question. Truly thought provoking for all who claim to be Christian. We could all do with a little more love and compassion in the world. He doesn't need bombs though. His word is more powerful than a sharp sword. I pray that your search for answers leads you to Him. Keep up the amazing work, great song!

Lovely song. I'm very impressed by the double string guitar playing.
this is real country. rebelling against systems, and speaking about real freedom. we lost the plot there for 10 or 15 years, but were back.
We lose 'it' whenever we compete instead of cooperate. Competition is inherently destructive. See Alfie Kohn's "No Contest".
