I may have missed it, but do your parents intend to do a B&B with the house, or make it their residence?
How far are you from the western coast?
My family is from the western part and Skye and we are looking to expat in Ireland tho if jobs are available on Tiree or Skye, we may go there
      Loved the video and music!

Tracy Denny thank you Tracy. No decisions about what they’ll do with it yet but they may decide to B&B it. A long way to go for that though 😆 it’s right on the west coast

Absolutely gorgeous video! I've been to Scotland twice, and it's the only place I would consider living outside of my home state of Oregon. Maybe it's because they remind me of each other. When I crossed the border from England to Scotland, suddenly the land became wilder and more beautiful, and I was sure that's where all the fairies migrated to after the English cut, labeled and pasted their whole countryside. Thank you for reminding me of the beauty of Scotland.

The beauty of this video brought tears to my eyes. I lived in Germany for 3 years (hubby is retired military) and traveled a lot, but regret not visiting Scotland. After receiving my DNA results from ancestry I found out I’m almost 40% Scottish I’ve become sort of obsessed w/Scotland (ok I’m also Outlander obsessed). I’m a transplanted Texan living in Maryland and it’s my dream to visit the highlands (or run away to the highlands 🙃). I always look forward to your videos. You’re a lucky guy to live in such a gorgeous place!!!

We have a lot of Oak trees here in America in the south and pine. The pine we cut, but not the Oaks. You saw some huge old Oak trees when you visited New Orleans and Texas. We have tree farms that are planted to be cut and used. If you see a big old Oak tree that is 400 or older don’t think about cutting it, even if it is on your property unless it is diseased or dead! Their are people that spend thousands on saving an old Oak tree. They are so much of the South’s history. Did you get a chance to go to any of the antebellum homes on the Mississippi river while you were in New Orleans? That is where you see the biggest Oak trees, beautiful!

I have some jewelry made out of Scottish heather branches. The color in the wood of the branches is amazing. They put a bunch of branches together then put a resin on them to make a block then cut and shaped it, just stunning. My little piece of Scotland.....very cherished. The trees in our forests look about the same especially in Kentucky. And the Carolinas, Pennsylvania....just gorgeous. But then when they awake in the spring....breath taking. Walk carefully Shaun!!! It happens, I stumble all the time in my yard, not looking where I’m going.....glad your ok!!! Ggeeezzzz! Please stay safe out there, need to see you here!! Always a joy. ❤️❤️❤️

I always love when you show the highlands. It seems so similar to the areas around me at the Blue Ridge and Allegheny mountains in Virginia in the US. I have seen forest areas all around the world (mainly on vids) but very few places look so similar. The area you traveled in North (or was it South) Carolina was also not that different.
When finding old walls in a house that old, I would be worried about arsenic wallpaper if it shows up as a vivid green. It was used a fair amount in the Victorian period and made so many people very ill. My own house is about 100 years old, but the worst we have to worry about is lead paint.

I live in a small city in eastern North Carolina. New Bern to be exact. Named after Bern, Switzerland 🇨🇭. Bern is the Swiss word for bear. We have bears here in the forests and woods around New Bern...both real ones and around 50 or so fiberglass ones painted in different themes displayed at various points around town. The city did that to celebrate our 300th anniversary in 2010.

The oaks I saw looked less than 75 to 100 years old. Area looks like it has been harvested around 1900. Its naturally in filling but still not an uncut forest. Will take hundreds of years to recover to primal forest , including culling non native species.

I enjoyed seeing the Highlands. What a beautiful place. I'm from the states. I Hope to see the transformation of your parents place. The walk in the wood was great. Maybe you can take many walks through out the year with the changing seasons. I love these videos. Your music pick is perfect!

I thoroughly enjoy your nature videos the best. Scotland has so much natural beauty that is amazing. Someone posted their hiking on the West Highland Way and the scenery was jaw dropping beauty. Maybe you could walk that some day. Thanks for this video.

So beautiful! Thanks for showing us around, Shaun. I’m amazed no one else was there. Not too cold? Midgies gone? I think autumn must be the time to visit.

Shaun, it's a good thing you weren't walking over mud when you fell off the walkway, or you'd have looked lots worse for the experience. LOL
