Schweet ! I was contemplating duplicating my sails the same way, but I was a tad afraid the cloth wouldn't come off once the white glue had dried. You've saved me some experimenting, thanks !
I'm a new subscriber after watching your superb build of the Revell 'Vasa'. I built the Airfix version years ago which was before washes and airbrushes etc became popular so the entire thing was brushpainted. It didn't come out too badly but I now know that many of the colours were totally inaccurate. I've had the Revell one awaiting my attention for about a year so your video was very informative - many thanks. I have two models as work in progress to finish (the Russian protected cruiser 'Varyag' and the rare Airfix 1:48 scale TSR 2) and once they are finished I will be doing the Vasa once again with your video guidance. Thanks again for sharing your skills.
Hi Alex, incredible again. Watched the Victory build a few times and bravo again for that, but this is the first viewing of you making sails. I now have the same Victory kit plus the Revell Mayflower and they will have cloth sails. Thank you sir.
great job Alex. I'm basically into Armor but I watched your vid on the Victory and am planning on giving Sailing ships a shot. Should be very interesting on doing some nice salt and sea weathering !!
WELL DONE ALEX ,, JUST CANNOT MAKE MY MIND UP ABOUT THE SAILS THOUGH ,, JUST PURCHASED THE HELLER VICTORY 1/100 ,, HAVENT STARTED IT YET ,, BUT I GUESS I WILL JUST RIGG IT ,, ITS A LONG WAY OFF YET THOUGH . :)
Olá, muito bom, eu não fazia melhor. Também já vi a colocar tecido branco e colocar a ferver com chá em que dá uma cor e aspecto castanho claro. Excelente trabalho. Abraço, Hugo.
Hi there, I’m watching the video and I guess I missed the part where you got or made the molds to lay the sheets on. How do I make the mold or did you buy it?
If its only dust i would just air brushed it! Have to carefull with novinha parts but thats what i would do. And on flat free of detail surfaces a new flat brush! Cheers brother!😁😀
Nice jobb. I was wondering about the scale of this modell you are building. I´m building HMS victori in skale 1:75 and I want to make the sails, but kant find any drawing or dimensjons for them. nice work, Do you have dimensjons for the sails you made?
could you please tell me if you know of anyone who will make sails??? I have a small Midwest Chesapeak Flattie that has two small sails I would like to have made.

Coffee is also effective for Tinting the sails for gradient stains.

Where do you get your vac form mold
From the kit👍👍
Is it just bedsheets cloth?
Yes it is. These were a bit too thick but with try and error i leaened to use thinner ones. 🙂👍
What kind of cloth is it
Aren't those stitches a little bit big for the ship scale?
Yes they are
