    Thanks a lot man!
    Im a noob at RAM OC'ing and I got these exact same RAM sticks in a 4x8GB setup on a MSI Tomahawk X570 + Ryzen 5800X. Your video helped me slowly achieve below:
    DRAM Freq. 3800Mhz/1900 FCLK (16-18-18-18-36 @ 1.41V)
    SOC Voltage 1.100 (AMD Overclocking Mode)
    trc 60
    trfc1 580
    tfaw 20
    Still need to figure out what I should set for trfc2 & trfc4.
    Thanks again!
    EDIT: My trdwr is by default running at 11...tried reducing to 8 but didnt boot.

    I couldn't get no error at 3800MHz on my ryzen 3600 so I just used 3600MHz, I tried getting 14-17-17-17-35 and it could pass Avx2 and Sse memory benchmarks on OCCT (30min each) , but honestly I saw little improvements on synthetic benchmarks, I saw that in games some of the most important timings are tFAW / tRRDL / tRRDS, tRFC, tRAS, tRC.
    I wanted to set the tRRDS /tRRDL /tFAW, going from 6/6/24 to 4/6/16 watching the github memory OC Guide and try them, also wanted to lower tRFC a bit and tRC, I was thinking of trying your values (580/60 for these last timings), I'll probably update in a couple of days here, it was a great video and useful to learn :)

      @TechnologyHive  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you. Hope you get it all tuned in just right. This is a great kit of ram. Not touching DDR5 for this very reason. DDR4 has plenty of life left in it. Later when DDR5 matures ill make the jump.

    • @andrexskin
      @andrexskin 2 роки тому +1

      @@TechnologyHive I'll try, the timings for the fFAW and the other 2 are really tight so it might not work. I wanted to OC so I can get the most out of my system for as long as it can, DDR5 is interesting too but it's a bit too expensive... I might as well safely push my configuration and wait until new platforms becomes cheaper.
      So far so good, thank you for the video again and have a great day, if you want I'll update here my adventures

      @@TechnologyHive Okay so, little updates (not fully sure about stability yet, I want to test more)
      Soc 1.1V
      DDR4 voltage 1.425V (I actually set 1.4V but my motherboard wants to push more than what I tell her lol)
      DDR4@3733MHz still 1:1
      tRRDS/tRRDL/tFAW : 6/6/24
      tWR 16
      I'll test more in the morning to see if it's stable, if it is stable I think I'll probably call it a daily and be fine even if I can tight timings more

      @andrexskin 2 роки тому +1

      @@TechnologyHive I need to try prime95 again you're right, I used the memory stress test on OCCT and the AVX2 Large stress test always on OCCT. The reason why I'm not trying it yet is because it used to close itself after the 2 minutes mark if I remember correctly, I wasn't even using OCs, just crashing after the 2 minutes lol
      This thing aside, I'll try again, maybe it was crashing due to some conflicts between drivers or updates

I literally copied your last settings and system booted easily. I couldnt find the right version of Memtest but so far I am running 8 separate windows of memtest with 2gb each and no errors. How can I assure that these are stable and will remain like that? I would like to use them on a daily basis. Is it bad for the ram?

    Love your work btw!!

    • @TechnologyHive
      @TechnologyHive  3 роки тому +1

      First, thank you a ton. Second, don't worry about the ram speed at 3800mhz. The important thing is to keep your voltage under 1.55v due to heat. So have plenty of ventilation.
      I like MT5 for a quick memory test. You want to test with memtest86 for a few hours at least. Howevever MT5 as short of a test as it is will give you a pretty idea where your ram stability is at. 5 minutes and it's done.
      1900fclk is perfectly fine if your cpu imc can handle it in the first place. No degrading effects there. Over all, enjoy your OC. You're not killing or degrading anything.

I've mostly uploaded on my motherboard BIOS the same values that comes from DRAM Calculator. I tried pushing 3800 and CL14 but TestMem5 gives me errors so i rolled back to CL16, but i'd like to ask you where should i start if i want to lower the latency. I mean, probably i still have some room for improvements, as i'm rock solid at 1.4v, should i lower by 1 the actual latency (from 16-18-18-18 to 15-17-17-17) ? As you may understand i'm not a RAM expert but i can deal with PC not booting and reset to BIOS default . Thanks again for the video, it was really clear and helpful

      If you want to tackle latency, then leave your primary timings as they are where it's stable and tweak your sub-timings, as this will improve overall performance in games and applications that are memory sensitive.

I see that you are using a Ryzen 3600 and managed to reach a 1900 FLCK with the kit. What’s driving me nuts is the inability of my system with a 3700x + Asus Rog Strix B550-F to post with 3800mHz (1900 FCLK). It has only posted where it was not 1:1:1 ratio. I have loosened timings that are a bit sensitive for a Micron E-die and set the appropriate voltages, but my system just will not post. Am I in an unlucky situation where both my CPU or ram kit are subpar or am I missing a crucial step that will allow for a post and some stability? Your help will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

      Hello. Unfortunately you're not alone in this voyage. 3800mhz or 1900fclk is not guaranteed with every ryzen 3000 series. Some memory controllers can do it. Others can not. Your cpu memory controller is to blame. But 3600mhz is still a good speed if you tweak out the timings correctly. It can run just as fast as a kit running at 3800mhz. So do not feel discouraged as this is normal. Just play with your timings and you will get equal or better performance 🙂.

      I know RAM manufacturers put tCL first, but actually your greatest performance improvement comes from tighter tRCDRD, and subtimings. Being what I assume to be Micron E revision IC's in your ram kit, tRCDRD 17 will be the tightest I've gotten. So if you can get 14.17.17.17.36 it would be great.
      If not, 16.18.18.18.36 tRC 56, tRFC 580, tFAW 26, tCWL 16 should yeild good results. Volts @1.4👍 try that let me know...

      Honestly CL14 combined with a 18 tRCDRD won't boost performance much. I'd go for 16-18-18-18-36, tRC 60, tRFC 580. Then focus on frequency since you're on Intel, you're frequency is not limited like it is on Ryzen due to infinity fabric 1:1 ratio. if i activate xmp profile, it doesnt boot. so i did OC changes by the aisuit 3, and it make then run at 3200mhz, if i change it for, example, 3300mhz, it stops booting again.

      Micron/Crucial has very good vetting/binning of their memory kits to make sure they are compatible with most systems out there even when not on a QVL from my experience.
      But the B350 chipset is not known for playing well with ram speeds over 3000mhz. Perhaps new agesa updates have fixed that for your particular board, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
      My R5 2600 will do 3600mhz memory perfectly fine on my B550 boards. But as soon as it goes in my old B350 board its stuck at 3000mhz ram speeds 😕.

      @@TechnologyHive yeah that's a bummer and most gigabyte mobos are pretty shady when come to volatge/memory support specially b350 and b450 and my gigabyte ab350-d3h is weird because with my older 1600 i can push over 1.5v but now with a 2600 im stuck max 1.4v even i raise my mobo max voltage idk why, im using latest version bios and i change my bios but the result is same and also the vram of the mobo is pretty bad even pair with a 2600 which is a 6 core cpu i see max vram temp reach 110c when i run cinebech r23, but i dnt stress my cpu that much so for gaming its not a problem, bdw memory oc is not depended on the imc of the cpu not the chipset right because if you pair 3600/3600x you can push easily 3600mhz ram speed even with a320 mobo easily and i dnt think a320 memory support is as good as b350, ig its something to do with older gen ryzen because memory support was first zen nightmare evn tho zen+ you can push over 3200 or can reach 3200 without too many tweaks in bios but ig again it depend which brand b350 you using, i saw a guy who push 3466mhz with his msi b350 pair with a 1700x and we all know first zen ryzen its so hard to get even sable 3200mhz, how you running a 2000 series cpu with a b550? b550 is not support only 3000 and 5000 series cpu?

      @@Ryzen-gh1en The Gigabyte B550M S2H motherboard works fine with the 2600. It won't run my R5 1600 though. The memory overclocking on that board is also one of the best since it's only 2 dimms. It can reach 5100mhz oc memory. I've had it at 4800mhz with some crucial sticks. Superb board. With B350 chipset it also depends on the silicone lottery. Some chips do good, others don't.

      @@TechnologyHive i check cpu support list on B550M S2H but sadly they dnt mention any 2000 series cpu support list, if i upgrade a 5600x/5800x in future i guess 4 dimms slot is better then 2 slot because you get more memory bandwidth and GN tested with 5000 series ryzen pair with 4 ram sticks you get better frame compare to 2 ram stick, i can run my 2400mhz at 3000mhz if i pair 4 and 3 dimm slot but it is recommended that i use 2 and 1 where im stuck 2933mhz with procODT 80, if i put it less then 80 it wont even boot stable idk why, my problem is it was stable almost 2 years but now my ram dnt even work properly, i switch different slot but it wont post, after so many times i remove and then put it back it work but sometimes one stick work like bios shows 16gb but in windows only 8gb shows, idk it is my mobo issue or ram and does raise the voltage and procODT can degraded the ram IC?

    Hello ! I have 2 KITs of Crucial Ballistix BL2K16G36C16U4B 32GB(2x16) 3600MHz CL16. One of them is .M8FB1, and the other .M16FE1.
    So i have 2 kits of 32GB each, one kit of 2x16GB (both of the memory sticks are the same, not to be misunderstood) is labeled as M8FB1 and one kit of 2x16GB (same, both are the same)is M16FE1.
    Which would be better for a Ryzen 7 5700G? And for Overclocking?
    I want to mention that I have some problems with trying to overclock the M16FE1.The memory latency is 400 ns when I try to overclock them sometimes even though it posts and sometimes even with XMP activated it becomes 300-400 ns.
    What should I do ?

    DRAM calculator is a piece of garbage. The DRAM calculator relies on users identifying their own memory ICs, via Thaiphoon Burner. Thaiphoon is fairly rubbish -it's not a real memory IC detector, it just reads the SPD and matches it to a database of serial codes. Problem is that memory vendors will swap the memory ICs used in their high-speed kits from initial release, sometimes 2-3x, and Thaiphoon Burner will still read out the original IC.
