Section 2's shredding is actually the easiest part, just play whatever you want and have your band members sing the "you're not the only one" chorus real loud.
I can’t pinpoint what it is about you that can get me to get the timing of all these intricate solos, Chris. I can’t count the number of hours I’ve spent trying on my own or with help from others and then I just watch you for five minutes and I can finally nail it. I’ve been playing for 30 years and only since I’ve found your videos have I had it “click.” Thanks for the time you put into this, you help in a way no one else can.
Thank you for this incredibly comprehensive break-down and lesson. I would have never thought that I'd be playing this solo at this point, but thanks to you, it's happening.
Thank you Chris for all the effort you put into creating these videos. It is so much work and the way you break it down makes it so much less scarier than it actually is. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would even attempt to learn this solo. Thank you so much!

Great video. You make these solos so much easier to learn and they always sound right. Quite a lot of bad videos on youtube where the solos are clearly wrong
I can’t thank you enough for all the great teaching videos you’ve made. I’ve been trying to learn to play guitar for 24 years, but this is the first time ever I really e excelled at it after following your videos. Great respect for you.
I'm halfway through this now having spent 90% of the time on the dreaded variation 2...Great lesson, the best on the net...many thanks for the effort put in.
hey Chris Zoupa I just want to thank you for your hard work and teaching us all of these solos... you are amazing man. thank you, thank you, thank you. hopefully one day I'll be half as good as you are.
Thanks for the lesson Chris. I have try to learned this solo a couple of time and I always have some parts that I can´t figured out. Thanks also for all the other lessons. Cheers from Mexico.
Awesome work man. You have a way of explaining things that not many people have. Honestly I'd like to see your take on Avenged Sevenfold's 'Lost' solo. I've learned nearly all of it. There's one legato run in the middle - ish, and I cannot figure it out. I even have the official tab book. I know the pattern but I can't quite nail the execution technique. I think however if you'd learn it you could definitely explain it. Thanks man! Happy Jammin
awesome tutorial. I really appreciate all the videos you put up. Some Solos to Consider?: GNR: Dont Damn Me, Shotgun Blues, Get in the Ring, Back Off B*tch, Garden of Eden, Night Train. Metallica: Dyers Eve, Battery Megadeath: Dialectic Choas (whole song)
Awesome man, the videos you're doing are just what I needed lately and I feel so grateful that you give away all this for free... Thanks a lot man, you're a beast! Cheers!
Hi Chris thx for the videos, they're really helpful and ur doing a good job with the way you explain everything... i just have a question, that shredding part in section 2 of the solo, i just cannot get to that speed no matter how hard i practice, i've been playing it over and over for the past couple of days and it isnt getting any better... i know you will say use a metronome, and that exactly is my question... how do use a metronome to practice this piece?? i can use it to practice scales thats easy, cause i play one note with each beat or i subdivide them... but with this piece the notes are just so fast i can't off course play one note for each beat neither can i subdivide them
Wow. You're not only a great player, but a great teacher as well. If I may, I would suggest that you teach Two Weeks by All That Remains. Either way, keep up the good work man!
my favorite solo of this song. Yes, like Brett before me suggested/requested, Paradise City outro solo would be excellent! as always, Thank you Mr. Zoupa!!
thank you for the video , it is really helpful and man , WHAT A TONE , this to me is not only a fantastic instructional video but also publicity for prs, now im craving a prs guitar BAD, what amp are you using? seriously your tone is straight up AMAZING!
Finally up to this part of the song and i have to say this is a far more technical piece than sweet child o mine. And i wanna say many thanks for the tutorial. Im going to need plenty of coffee for this next bit.
Hey man, I was just wondering how long it took you to learn that solo. I have to learn it for an upcoming performance. I am an Intermediate-advanced player
Chris Zoupa Tbh Axl is my second least favorite vocalist ever haha, find his voice so annoying. November Rain is one of the few GnR songs where his voice isnt bad. Each their own.
Some constructive criticism. Many people bashed you for allegedly not bending in tune on the "Tornado of Souls" solo. However what I felt was that the slight out of tune bending was used by Friedman himself on that solo and it sounded musical most of all. This solo (November Rain) is another involving a few bends. While the solo, like all your other lessons, is top notch, I feel that the initial bend on each segment (the half step bend) does sound out of tune in a non-musical way to my ear. May be I'm too anal but I do believe I have a good ear and apart from that every thing else is top class as usual. And I'm pointing this out because I'm used to nothing but the very best from your channel.
You should be fine with fender champion 20 on british voice settings, it's a ok sounding amp for money and i think it has enough distortion, set gain on 7-8 on full british voice and you should be fine, only downside is there is no middle eq.
Your tutorials help me so much :D Especially the Ride the Lightning one haha. Really fun to impress and annoy my friends on Skype calls. By any chance, could you do The Mechanic by Megadeth? It's so fast it doesn't seem humanly possible so maybe you could... You know, demonstrate? Haha 10/10 tutorials - IGN
Can't quite grasp the timing... Its breaking my heart 😩 .. I'll get it though 🙄 Thanks for these awesome solo lessons Chris. So well explained. 👍👍 Greetings from Ireland... Stay safe!
Aido g use a metronome band app with the beats per minute set to 87 which is what the song was done to. I couldn’t get is to fill the right timing before I set it to the right speed
Oopps damn i thought u holded ur pick with thumb and middle finger..anyways i picked this part of the solo once before but left it incomplete..now after watching u play at the beginning i started all over again

that's exactly what slash told axl to do ;)
Yeah because slash himself forgot those notes. It’s called lazy shredding .

Thank you Chris for all the effort you put into creating these videos. It is so much work and the way you break it down makes it so much less scarier than it actually is. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would even attempt to learn this solo. Thank you so much!

It's always a sense of relief when he says we're nearly there😏
Great job mate this is probably the most accurate sounding lesson! Thanks
7:20 'blblblblbbblbllblblblbl and all that jazz' with such a straight face, one of the many reasons Chris is my favourite guitar teacher hahaha
Great, one of the best lessons i have seen, lately i heard the song on the radio and liked the last solo.
Its a good workout and you helped me a lot.
I can’t thank you enough for all the great teaching videos you’ve made. I’ve been trying to learn to play guitar for 24 years, but this is the first time ever I really e excelled at it after following your videos. Great respect for you.
Good lesson and finally got though all six parts which took of lot of pause and rewind. Very much appreciated for your work

I could already play this 95% but your breaking down is excellent and now I can clean it up a little. Thanks best tutorial ever.
Awesome work man. You have a way of explaining things that not many people have.

Hey man, I was just wondering how long it took you to learn that solo. I have to learn it for an upcoming performance. I am an Intermediate-advanced player
have one of these axes myself, few mods though, love it!
Slash was the only good thing about GnR honestly. November rain is. Great song because of those solos
You could not have been more incorrect
Frans Rålin i loved axls vocals and duff and izzy. All around win band.
Chris Zoupa
Tbh Axl is my second least favorite vocalist ever haha, find his voice so annoying. November Rain is one of the few GnR songs where his voice isnt bad.
Each their own.
I think it's an acquired taste. He used to annoy me too
JAJA, just like beer, once you get the hang of it you end loving it. Excellent lesson by the way, love your videos.
Great lesson, anyway you could do hollow years by dream theater
It hurts like hell but its worth it, i'm not going to give up
Hey Chris love your videos I was wondering if you could remake Domination-PanterA I'm trying to get the solo and it just isn't working
Amazing teaching
It's been a long time since you haven't done a Pantera lesson! You should do one soon (revolution is my name) :)

what can i do to make my amp sound more distorted on the higher strings? i have a fender champion 20 and also a fender sa-10.
You should be fine with fender champion 20 on british voice settings, it's a ok sounding amp for money and i think it has enough distortion, set gain on 7-8 on full british voice and you should be fine, only downside is there is no middle eq.
thanks
