Truer words never spoken! Several years ago I bought 100 class 15 bobbins. Didn't realize that Chinese bobbins were so bad. At least 15 won't fit on the rewind shaft, and most of the rest of them wobble as they wind. NEVER AGAIN. Genuine Singer or Japanese made. Chinese junk (not the boat variety)
Any excess accumulation of thread underneath your fabric, is almost always caused by a problem with the upper thread. I always tell my customers, whenever there’s a malfunction, to CHECK THE BIG THREE: 1)Thread 2)Threading 3)Needle In the case of “nesting”, you can skip concern about the needle, and focus on thread, or threading. If the thread is oversized:Nesting If the thread is misthreaded:Nesting The thread tension dial has probably been turned all over the place, so put it on four, or if it’s a Bernina, on the red line. Check out my videos on the subject. There may be more than one. I usually say “looping underneath“. “Nesting” is the new word that all you cool kids use. 😎

Hi! What about when the bobbin winder won't engage?
It’s hard to troubleshoot from here. Other than what is discussed in the video, you might want to take it to the Bernina specialist in your area.
Why is my bobbin making Birdsnest?
