Looking to understand the auto start/stop features. None of the videos are covering this. Does the light start on starting of timer or a speed setting or both. Does using the remote to start/stop timer result in on/off switching of light. Looking to use on helmet mount and wish to have remote control and auto control. When slowing down I assume it goes to low setting, does it switch off at a complete stop or does one need to stop timer or both? Does the trail speed settings differ from the other auto speed settings or are they actually user speed setting variable?
From my experience, when on auto and connected to my Garmin Edge 1000, the light comes on when I turn on the Edge. The light will dim when I come to a stop, then will brighten as I start riding again. When the Edge is turned off, the light turns off automatically with it. It's activated by motion and is not on a timer. There is a Varia remote that you can buy to control start/stop, but I'm not sure that the light will work on auto with the remote. I've only used it with my Edge. I've only used it on my road bike and mounted on my handle bars, so I'm not sure how it works helmet mounted on the trails. Hope this helps.
TheRedduck1 can you by pass the dimming when stop. To keep it full on all the time? I believe this is the most important part of riding is when you stop, You should be seen more so dimming i think is mot a good idea for me.
@@popitn2nd The battery life depends on the light intensity level. My ride is normally 2.5 hours on day flash mode and 0.5 hours on high mode. Still reads half full after my 3 hours of riding. There is a battery life chart available on the Garmin site as well. Hope this gives you a general idea.

TheRedduck1 also, how long does the battery last on one full charge?

@@popitn2nd Yes, you can set it on high or on auto. I agree, you should leave it on high at all times when riding in the dark.
Hi. I have a question for the Author. Is the lamp lit after connecting the PowerBank?
Yes, the light turns on after connecting to the Garmin.
I read elswhere that the light is off while charging via power bank...
☺️ thank you.

Like the bike name dropping....
I tried pairing this light on my edge 1000. But my meter won’t detect it. Not sure why
Try going through the pairing process again. Download the app on your mobile phone and you can check it there as well.
TheRedduck1 can you please verify for me what version software you have on you garmin edge 1000 ?
