- In this video we go into analysis mode as I share my thoughts on the surprising move of Affinity to join Canva. We discuss the reasons for selling, the reaction of the community, and what prognosticate what this might mean for the future of Affinity Photo and the entire. Affinity suite
It’s nice to hear someone being positive about the future of Affinity.
It's an educated guess 😊 Up to Canva not to mess it up.
thank you for a well balanced and researched video, lets hope that there is a positive outlook for Affinity photo.
Thans for watching. Really hope innovation gets ramped up to give Adobe competition
You said it: "Only time will tell." In the meantime, I'll be taking a closer look at alternative PHOTO processing software.
I can recommend Pixelmator Pro if you use the mac. For Windows, I don't think there is an adequate alternative except Adobe. Let me know if you find anything 😊
Ich hoffe auch, das es eine weitere Kaufoption für die nächsten Updates geben wird. Ich nutze Affinity nur für mich zum Spaß und könnte mir ein Abo garnicht leisten.
Thanks for the sub. I think affinity community has made it very clear to Canva what kind of purchase they want😊
Thanks for your honest opinions and insights. We are all hoping for a positive outcome as well. And also, thanks for your helpful Affinity videos. I really liked your recent video that uses curves to adjust white balance problems. I use an astro modified camera and have problems achieving good white balance results, so hopefully that technique will solve the issue.
Hopefully it will be helpful. Didn't know you could/or needed to modify a camera for astro photography. Btw I'll be testing out an alternative correct color cast technique suggested by a viewer. Looks promising as well.
Think you've got a point there, if anyone wants to seriously start competing with Adobe then it only makes sense to team up with someone bigger. Hope they will keep their promises and won't betray their customers like Adobe has.
Yes people itching to leave Adobe but looking for a decent alternative. Affinity has a big opportunity here if they execute.
We can only hope
CEO said other people tried to buy but he really liked Canva. Maybe the prospects really are good. Who knows. 😊
I just hope they don't go to subscription model, it would be an utter disaster for me
All indications are they won't do it. That's perpertual license is the only thing differentiating them from Adobe.
@@takebetterphotos8132 Correct and they put out a press release saying they wouldn't be doing so, but if they did it would always be along side a perpetual lic choice.
Affinity hasn't joined Canva, it has been bought out by Canva
Yes they were bought though Affinity calls it "joining the Canva family" twitter.com/affinitybyserif/status/1772534818175070665
@@takebetterphotos8132 That's because unlike the FilmicPro buyout where BendingSpoons fired all the original devs Canva kept the original team, hence joining the family.

yes firing staff doesn't sound like joining at all! Why did they even bother :D
