  • Some wanted to see a normal flight of just cruising around, got a bit cold at the end of it but was fun. I weigh around 180lbs and i was flying an Apco Hybrid for reference.
    For more info on the Sp140 you can check it out here openppg.com/shop/paramotors/o...

    I can't keep a headphone cord untangled for more than 30 seconds, so I am always amazed when I watch someone easily and effortlessly unpack a para wing with all those lines.

    • @CharlesVanNoland
      @CharlesVanNoland 4 місяці тому

      As long as you don't let the risers go into the lines they stay untangled by themselves. It's just a branching web of lines and as long as the risers are kept together, and not allowed to just mix up in the lines, then it's fine - you don't have to do much other than wiggle them apart.

    I think thats very acceptable as it is and its just going to improve, so much less to think about than petrol. Im glad you mentioned other wings as I know how light the hybrid is, great wing to inflate. Theres one massive advantage and thats not stinking the car out, plus no need to remove it from the car. Im watching this space very closely now, thanks for the great video, all the best.

    hearing vlogging or narration without music in my opinion is the best form of filming videos for teaching or inspiring or showing people new technology or ideas, great job, this is inspiring me to switch to electric on my new trike design as the timing has been perfect where Im just in the beginning designing phase. dont get me wrong been looking for fresh ideas from many designs and Implementing into my own. using solidworks since 1995 is a big help as well. being a trike I can carry more battery capacity. I need a motor around 25 hp to 35hp Im thinking.

I’ve seen such batteries catch fire both charging and flying, what safety features do you have related to this? I see you have a wait time for spare parts. Can you provide the wait time for your spare parts? What country do you source your parts from? How about the effect of rain? Can it short out? Or landing in the water? Thanks in advance.

    Is there any chance a 48v ebike battery could work with a motor on a tiny minimot sized paramotor? Not sure how much thrust a 48v baytery can produce. If i could get i the air for 5 minutes and find thermals, it would be worth it.

    • @openppg
      @openppg  6 місяців тому +1

      Not likely. The power (watts) you need to draw on takeoff will be too much for an ebike battery. For 48v, you'd need to draw twice the current (amps) because the voltage is half (96v is what the SP140 runs on). Smaller battery packs struggle to sustain high amperage loads.
      If anything the older OpenPPG X4 could be adapted for those batteries since its in the same voltage range.

      I had a guy (actually found out he's a 'neighbor' down my road) follow me to where I landed at a friend's farm, which was miles from his house. He approached me and essentially threatened to shoot me if I flew "near" his property again. He told me he had reported me to the cops (never heard from them). He was a real asshole. I was never below 1,000ft. But he thinks he owns the sky. So yeah, people CAN get pissed. If you do get approached by an angry homeowner requesting that you don't overfly their property, my advice is to politely agree and move on. My goal is to not piss people off. But this guy wasn't taking issue with noise - he was wanting his "privacy" and not wanting me to spy on him. Whatever.
