  • In this video I take my first road trip with the new metal detector.
Some beach detecting and searching around the campsite turns out to be quite lucrative.

Cool finds 🤓 if you haven't already you need a pin pointer.. it makes it way easier to find the target and saves a lot of time 👍🙂

Get a pin pointer and a plug cloth, helps to be a bit tidier.

@@UNEARTHGOLD Well I was going to say Purakaunui, I’ve stayed there a couple times but I didn’t recognise where you were actually camped. I’ll go back and have another look. Fun little hobby this, I’ve just got myself a nox 800 and learning the ropes. Good video banter, I’ve subbed and will follow along.

@@hoozleup yep it is Purakanui, amazing place. We were right on the tip of the grass before the beach.
Definitely a cool hobby. Thanks for the sub!

    Hey mate
Do you keep your settings the same. I see it was on jewellery, max sensitive and 0 on the bar thingie across the top.
Just wondering if you use the different settings.
    I’m just starting with a vanquish 540
    Many bottle caps 😅

      Hi Mike,
I do use different sensitivity and settings depending on where I am detecting.
🤣 bottle caps are everywhere, I found the best way is to dig a lot of targets and pay attention to what numbers and tones things put off. As you learn you'll know what not to bother digging.

I was going to say the same thing. Also, a 3-sided plug helps the grass recover much quicker.
