She is heavily featured in "My Favorite Things", "Say Something", and she (well, all) kills it in Amazing Grace. Oh, and Wizard of Ahhhs! HIGHLY recommend all of those!
Word of warning: "The Wizard of Ahhhs" is an homage to the original movie, _"The Wizard of Oz,"_ starring Judy Garland. If you've never seen the movie, "The Wizard of Ahhhs" won't make any sense, so take care of that first. If you've seen "Wicked," good for you, but that alone isn't enough to make sense of "The Wizard of Ahhhs."
The thing I have most enjoyed about this one is the high-end sing-off between Mitch and Kirstie. I have also enjoyed the fact that it seemed that the higher Mitch would go, the deeper Avi would go. Well, they continued that here with Matt doing the deep slide to provide contrast and counterpoint to Mitch and Kirstie sliding up the stairs to the heavens.
"Amazing Grace" and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" have powerful Kirstie segments. And a fun video is the collaboration with Todrick Hall in "The Wizard of Ahhhs".
I agree with Missangie001... "Shallow and "The Wizard of Ahhhs." Bot showcase Kirstin quite well! For more of the 'gospel' sound, you HAVE to hear Amazing Grace. It's one of the best versions I've ever heard! Great reaction, as always!!
Mitch is a counter-tenor and has a 6 octave range. Scott is a baritone and often covers bass when Matt (previously Avi) is singing a melody line. Mitch, Scott and Kirsten all went to high school together and sang as a trio. They added Avi and Kevin when they had to have at least 5 people for the Sing-Off. Kevin was found on the internet playing cello and beatboxing at the same time. He was in medical school at Yale and he is also a tenor
There are two making of videos related to this video - Making of Evergreen and Making of the Prayer. For more of Kirstie - Shallow, Say Something, Be My Eyes, Love Me When I Don't.
Great reaction! Kirstie sounds spectacular in "Shallow" and is pretty much the lead in The Wizard of Ahhhs which is a collaboration with Todrick Hall from wayyyyy back when were very young and a relatively new group. It's a fun production that reminds me a little of a broadway musical. Whatever you choose you won't be disappointed.
There are several songs that Kirstie have wrote and did the lead singing. That would be "Be My Eyes" and my fave "Water." I think Kirstie have led over 30 songs either covers or originals.
Although no music video Kirstie also wrote "It's Different Now" (and is featured on it) from their The Lucky Ones album and is amazing...totally deserves to be on a movie soundtrack.
As mentioned by others: Say Something, Shallow, Be My Eyes, Water, Rather Be, Favorite Things, Seasons of Love, Wizard of Ahhs, Amazing Grace, (and others), are all songs that either wonderfully feature, or are lead by Kirstie. The group always tries to arrange things such that who is the lead for which section is just whichever person's voice works best for the song at that point. They all eventually get moments in the lead, just gotta keep going down the PTX rabbit hole :)
Great reaction guys. I absolutely agree about Kirstie. A few songs with her beautiful voice. Shallow. Amazing Grace. Several others, but I have to say, one of my favorites that shows her talent , riffs runs, and beautiful whistle notes is SEASONS OF LOVE. 😊👍
I think the background of winter snow and chill is right on for this song. It gives the emotion of calmness and serenity and almost a bit of darkness of the heart as do the lyrics. You will notice as the song goes on the background changes to a more golden tone and warms up the ambiance as if God was responding to their "prayer" and that follows right along with the lyrics and the vocal warmth. It's an appropriate and profound reaction and really makes this video a stunning piece of work.
In my opinion this is definitely the best cover of this song, Mitch and Scott voices blend so well together and they should have won a Grammy for this song; None of the Evolution mixes are on Spotify!
They released this song at Christmas on their Christmas album that year which is the reason for the wintery Christmas vibe. This is one of my faves!! Love your reactions! ❤
A beautiful song featuring Kirstin that not to many people have heard is Show "Yourself". It's a Disney Princess song. She is backed-up by "Voctave". They are Disney singers and are great in this just as Kirstin is. The song is on Voctave's "Broadway & Main album #2. This isn't too old and it might be her best singing yet. Enjoy !
Loved to watch you love this song as much as we do. The song was released on a Christmas album, hence the snowy set. There’s a BTS vid for this video if you want to see more. Kirstie must see’s: Seasons of Love, Say Something, Amazing Grace, Shallow, Water (og), Rather Be. If you’re up for a longer reaction, PTX did a short, four song set in Japan a while back. MTV produced it so the audio is great. They do three originals (including Water led by Kirstie) and a Michael Jackson medley. It’s a must watch imho.
I absolutely love when Mitch has the lead in the songs like with The Prayer and Bohemian Rhapsody. I love Mitch's voice and his amazing range. They are all extremely equally talented though.
Along with perfect pitch, Scott Hoying has a five-octave range that allows him to be the keystone baritone as well as backing the bass harmony when the bass singer takes the melody line.
You have to see My Favorite Things, bring a pillow for your jaw when it hits the floor. Kirstie is a darker version of Julie Andrews, and she changes her look completely. You might even wonder if she’s a new member of the band.
Amazing Grace, Be My Eyes (original), Water (from Popspring 2016), Rather Be, My Favorite Things, Shallow- all 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Amazing Grace is in my top 3 and the others all showcase Kirstie.
I got you what you meant about Kirsten showing more of her power voice. If you really want to hear it. Listen to their version of " Amazing Grace ".......She will blow the head phones off you heads. She goes head to head with Mitch in the song. The 2 of them together is outstanding....
Congratulations you’re Pentaholics. When Mitch sings, they call it being Mitch slapped. That’s what it is. Glad you’re enjoying them! Anything they do is great. Time to go down the rabbit hole. ♥️
If you're looking for PTX songs that feature Kirstie a bit more, several that I could recommend: "Rather Be", "Say Something", "Be My Eyes" where she's the clear lead vocalist (she also wrote "Be My Eyes", a PTX Original). "Shallow", 'Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)", "Come Along", "Do You Feel the Love Tonight", "Seasons of Love" where she is prominently featured. Another great one is "Water" (also a Kirstie-written PTX original), but there's no "Official video" for it. The best version with a video is from their live "Popspring" performance.
Hey you two I love PTX. They did great job with this performance. Let me tell you a story about 2 young Ladies Lucy and Martha Thomas ages 19 and 13 respectively. They hail from northern UK. They are the best I and many, many other people say they have the best cover of this song. On two occasions I have seen them voted best over PTX. Just give them a listen at @lucythomasmusic. Lucy has over 60 recording with over 100 million views. Vocal critics say Lucy has the absolute best voice control, pitch, chest to head voice control of any artist alive today. Anyway their recording “The Prayer” is mesmerizing.
Here's a blues number that will blow you away by the time it's done. Jimmy Barnes - Stone Cold (feat. Joe Bonamassa) (Official Video). Super singing , puts his whole body. mind, soul, and raspy voice. Guitar is equally up front expressing blues to match the best. Would be great to react to if haven't before. Jimmy is Australian..
For more Kirstie centric songs I would suggest 'My Favorite Things', 'Say Something', 'Wizard of Ahhhs', 'Be My Eyes', 'Shallow', and 'Love Me When I Don't'!
a lot of the time, in songs where each person takes a solo, Kirsten sings the final verse because it's her soprano tones that soar to the climax. Mitch sometimes takes that position as his tones soar, too. When Scott sings the final verse, it brings the song down into a softer finale, as in Sound of Silence. Each time the arrangement is obviously meticulously thought out for maximum effect and interpretation. It's no wonder they do so well.
Kirstie leads on "Shallow", "Say Something", "Water" and I'm sure others will let you know some more. I also vote for "Pop Spring 2016" it is a live four song set that is worth the approx. 20 min.
I have never heard any one of their songs I didn't just love. What a remarkable group of individuals. Please react to "O Holy Night", and / or "Christmas time is here, Pure Imagination". I know how you guys enjoy new and upcoming artists. Take the time to explore Beatrice Florea. She is a Romanian young lady with dozens of her songs on UA-cam. I believe this is a soon-to-be star in the music business. Thanks for your wonderful, in depth reactions.
Scott really has the biggest range of them all: he can take over the bass, if necessary (like in Hallelujah, when Avi has his solo) and can go extremely high (like in the end of this song or in „Coffee in bed“)!
Mitch Grassi - voice spans 6 octaves and 1 tone, from A1 to B7. Scott Hoying - Vocal Range (G♯1 - G♯5) is considered fairly standard four octaves but he rather has incredible control over his voice.
Wait til Christmas! We have lots of suggestions! There is one on this last years album, not really Christmas but it is Epic, Kiss From A Rose, rendition of a song of Seal's.There is an instrument, an electric cello. If they use an instrument you will see it. There are a few songs that they play an instument in. Kevin is a musical genius. Played cello and sax at Carnegie Hall in his younger days, like 8 or 9 and again in 2005 at 17. He speaks Mandarin, was pre-med when he did a YT video and Scott called him to see if he wanted to join the group. He did! He flew out to Calif. to meet with the new 'Pentatonix', for an audition on the Sing off competition show. Lots to learn about Kevin Olusola!`~ That was an awesome reaction!~ I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to more!
For a sample of Kirsti's vocals, Kirstin - Break a Little, acoustic live, Kirstin All Night - acoustic live, and also the PTX version of Seasons of Love. She also has a solo album titled Love.
Kirstie can certainly sing high enough for this (Pentatonix aren't certain whether she sings higher than Mitch or vice versa) but Mitch does those ethereal vocals better. This was a set, and whoever designed it isn't being paid enough, no matter what s/he gets. The snowy landscape was because this song was featured on their 2021 Christmas album, _"Evergreen."_
I love they're music but like the other famous I couldn't sing to save my own life but it's gotten old to hear on a daily basis that I sound or have the same same voice as home free I believe they're base singer have a fantastic weekend keep up the outstanding work 👍
Thank you for doing this. I was hoping you guys would. David Foster wrote this song for Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. Mitch took the part of what Celine would sing and Scott took the part of what Bocelli would sing in Italian. David Foster said they did the song justice. He went on to say, it's one of the best covers of his song. Very pleased he was. Thanks again you guys. You should listen to the Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli singing it.
Hey 😊 if you read comments from older posts ... more PTX Please! I think you would love their cover of "Radioactive". It's a collaboration with Lindsey Sterling, a violinist/dancer. It's also one of the few videos that uses actual instruments, Lindsey on violin and Kevin on cello. But Kevin doesn't just play the cello he invented what he calls cello-boxing! He beat boxes while playing cello at the same time!! 🤯😅 a viral video of Kevin doing that is how the group found him. ❤😃 Kirsten doesn't have a big lead but as others in the comments have given you several good ideas. OH! one more, a PTX original called "SING". It's super fun and upbeat! I bet it goes on a workout Playlist once you hear it!! And you just can't stop without watching "Daft Punk Medley", that video won them their first Grammy Award!! 😮☺️ Love to you guys! 😊❤
New subscriber, always happy to find new reactors to Pentatonix. And thanks for having a playlist, it’s going to make it easy for me to see what I’ve missed. Please keep ‘em coming. Peace from Ohio…
There are several "slaps" in this video. Someone a little familiar with PTX probably expects Kirstie to sing Celine's part, but nope - out comes Mitch, and he does a fantastic job of it! Then comes Scott in his lower register, and singing in Italian to boot! Another is towards the end, where Mitch and Kirstie do their call-and-echo, belting all the way! And then at the very end, when Mitch finishes off on those soaring high notes. The Pentaholics were really hoping for a 4th Grammy for this song, but it wasn't nominated on its own - the album Evergreen that it is on was nominated, but didn't win. 😩
I think it would be cool to see you guys react to "the making of Evergreen". It showcases how they made the album that most recently got them grammy nominated.
Wizard of aahs, Shallow and My Favorite Things are all songs that Kirstie really shines in.
Coming next!
If you've seen "Wicked," good for you, but that alone isn't enough to make sense of "The Wizard of Ahhhs."
She also kills it in their version of Mary Did You Know.
Be my Eyes is the one you want.

Thanks for the info!
If you check out Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" Kirsty has her own verse. You might also check out "Be My Eyes" which focuses on Kirsty's vocal talents.
There are several songs that Kirstie have wrote and did the lead singing. That would be "Be My Eyes" and my fave "Water." I think Kirstie have led over 30 songs either covers or originals.
There's also Love me When I Don't, Say Something, Shallow It's Different Now ( audio/lyric video only).
Also Exit Signs.
Although no music video Kirstie also wrote "It's Different Now" (and is featured on it) from their The Lucky Ones album and is amazing...totally deserves to be on a movie soundtrack.
@@davidnunya8331, Absolutely! It's a beautiful song with a delicate melody and great lyrics.
I love Water!!!!! Such an underrated bop!
Kirstie is showcased amazingly in their version of Say Something. It's one of my many faves ❤
Kirstie leads and kills it on Say Something 🔥❤️🙌
And Shallow She gives a little different tone but is amazing.
A few songs where Kirsty leads are My Favorite Things, Love Me When I Don't, Rather Be, Say Something .
This is a tour de force for Mitch and Scott. Their voices together are stunning.
As mentioned by others: Say Something, Shallow, Be My Eyes, Water, Rather Be, Favorite Things, Seasons of Love, Wizard of Ahhs, Amazing Grace, (and others), are all songs that either wonderfully feature, or are lead by Kirstie. They all eventually get moments in the lead, just gotta keep going down the PTX rabbit hole :)
With the exception, of they get a little more attention, when Much sings the high notes. 😊
" Seasons of Love". Kirstie not only plays a more significant role, but also shows her whistle notes in this one.
The live version
Their version of Come Along is amazing, Kirstie plays a big part in that piece, and everyone gets a little bit of something in it!!!
The first time I heard "The Prayer" was a clip from Britain's Got Talent by Johnathon and Charlotte.
Kirstie, SEASONS OF LOVE. I'm telling ya, you'll absolutely love it.

The prayer was put out by Celine on her Christmas Album. 😄 The light in back during the verse, We are all God's Children.
In my opinion this is definitely the best cover of this song, Mitch and Scott voices blend so well together and they should have won a Grammy for this song; None of the Evolution mixes are on Spotify!
Cam Cole, Away is amazing. He really brings it home
BARS & BARBELLS
One of Kirstie‘s best performances in my personal opinion: „Say something“!
They released this song at Christmas on their Christmas album that year which is the reason for the wintery Christmas vibe. This is one of my faves!! Love your reactions! ❤
And also...If you want one featuring Kirstie, try "The Wizard of Ahhhs". Very cool medley. ua-cam.com/video/QkVeKb2igrg/v-deo.html
Beautiful song by talented angels gifted from above. Although I love their take on Amazing Grace
I also think that you would really appreciate "Seasons of Love". She is incredible in this song. Love your reactions

You guys are great. Your warmth and love jump off the screen!❤
Amazing Grace, Shallow, My Favorite Things are all good showcase songs for her.
"Be My Eyes" is a great song with Kirsten.
Love that song!
When they hit that Wall of Sound moment when the sun comes out it sounds almost like a pipe organ. They are just unmatched vocally.
Loved to watch you love this song as much as we do. The song was released on a Christmas album, hence the snowy set. There’s a BTS vid for this video if you want to see more. Popspring 2016 is a terrific suggestion. Kirsti shines and sassy Mitch raps!
Thx for all the great info!
I absolutely love when Mitch has the lead in the songs like with The Prayer and Bohemian Rhapsody. I love Mitch's voice and his amazing range. They are all extremely equally talented though.
So glad you are loving Pentatonix. I think this song and Amazing Grace are their most moving and best performances
Must listen pentatonix "Amazing Grace"
Kirstie is the featured singer of "Disney Love Medley" by Voctave, one of the best a capella groups on the planet. Pretty sure you'd enjoy their work.
Along with perfect pitch, Scott Hoying has a five-octave range that allows him to be the keystone baritone as well as backing the bass harmony when the bass singer takes the melody line.
Two songs that come to mind featuring Kirsty is Say Something and an original she wrote called Be My Eyes
Please, can I request amazing grace next, i love Kirsten’s vocals in that…come to think of it, I love all of the vocals.
Love this group !! Chills always
The most amazing thing iv ever heard
You have to see My Favorite Things, bring a pillow for your jaw when it hits the floor. Kirstie is a darker version of Julie Andrews, and she changes her look completely. You might even wonder if she’s a new member of the band.

Love love love
This is my favorite version of the song.
Scott is the back up bass when the main bass is singing lead. So the range is there.
Congratulations you’re Pentaholics. When Mitch sings, they call it being Mitch slapped. That’s what it is. Glad you’re enjoying them! Anything they do is great. Time to go down the rabbit hole. ♥️
Amazing vocals, the range is fantastic loved the song great choice guys,❤ may i surgest al murray nations of the world . Cheers mick uk
I love Kirstie's vocals on the original song, It's Different Now, on their cd The Lucky Ones. Any song on that cd is fire in my opinion.
When I die, I hope this version get greets me.
If you're looking for PTX songs that feature Kirstie a bit more, several that I could recommend:
"Rather Be", "Say Something", "Be My Eyes" where she's the clear lead vocalist (she also wrote "Be My Eyes", a PTX Original).
I vote Rather Be too! Not many reactors do it and it's amazing with Kirstie taking the lead!
Hey you two I love PTX. They did great job with this performance. Let me tell you a story about 2 young Ladies Lucy and Martha Thomas ages 19 and 13 respectively. They hail from northern UK. PTX 🔥❤️🙌
Scott also does the bass whenever Matt has a lead part. That is why he has a deeper tone
The cream of the crop when it comes to bringing music to the table keep up the good work 👍
Thank you!
@@barsandbarbells2022 pleasures all mine you guys have earned it 👍

I get the most Massive Goosebumps listening too Mitch and the whole song. You want too find Mitch’s single song, Billy Eilish.
Kirstie leads on "Shallow", "Say Something", "Water" and I'm sure others will let you know some more. I also vote for "Pop Spring 2016" it is a live four song set that is worth the approx. 20 min.

You gotta check out their song Love Again, it's very cool. Also Amazing Grace is awesome.

Shallow
Luv you guys...
They actually have some original songs too,
Sing is one of my favorites

For a sample of Kirsti's vocals, Kirstin - Break a Little, acoustic live, Kirstin All Night - acoustic live, and also the PTX version of Seasons of Love. She also has a solo album titled Love.
The meaning behind the “forest look”, is because this was from the Disney movie Quest for Chamelot
Check out thier Daft Punk Medley, they won a Grammy for it and they shot it in a closet with a budget of $400. So awesome.
WHEN YOU BECOME A REAL PTX FAN YOU WILL REALIZE THEY DONT DO COVERS THEY DO UPGRADES.
THIS IS WHY PTX IS THE NUMBER ONE ACAPELLA GROUP IN THE WORLD🌎
Scott Hoying the tall Blonde, he is a true Baritone. He also takes over as Bass whenever the Bass is singing.
There’s a behind the scenes for this video that’s really good.
Loved this so much thank you. Listen to Celine dion ft. Josh groban the prayer. Love Celine May she rip
For more Kirstie: „Rather be“. For more gospel (and Kevin singing) „Amazing Grace“. Other „musts“ in my opinion: „Shallow“ and „Havanna“!

Recommend their cover of I Just Called To Say I Love You.
For Kirstin as lead, try ‘Say Something’ (younger Kirstin) or ‘Love Me When I Don’t’ (a newer original written by her. 😊

I think it would be cool to see you guys react to "the making of Evergreen". It showcases how they made the album that most recently got them grammy nominated.
Kirstie lead singer also :Exit sign" (an original)☺
I think it is a wintry set because this is on one of their Christmas albums.
For Kirstie, I recommend their cover of My Favorite Things.
Most of the PTX family saw this as another possible Grammy but it was released to late....but they did get a nom for Evergreen though...
