Few things which we can learn from this session:
    1) first Attempt should be best prepared attempt
2)try to crack within 3 attempts (still we can do better with job cause of age as well as career installation is also important)
    3) you are the best interviewer of yourself
    4) self assessment is the key to success
5)basic english but grammatically correct english is required
Views can be different but we should be continue with what we actually want.

He is not discouraging people to not take UPSC , but is inspring in a vibrant manner that if you have that passion in your heart to crack this exam , then just do it 2-3 attempts ..
He is giving a big msg that the number of attempts and greater age limits , reduces the number of bright students in other important area of life . From 9 lakh people other than top 1 lakh , 8 lakh can give much better performance in other areas.
As our nation not only needs best bueraucrates , but best teacher , best engineer, best of every job .
Although your opinion on marks is not very welcome , as any person with less marks , can also crack this exam , And u should not forget , loopholes in our education system . Else it was hard reality outlined .. Thnq sir

Eversince I started preparation for Civil Services I lways had great respect for this man. After hearing his narrow analysis he made me think so much. Sir you say there is 1% successful candidates who secured below 50% in their 12 and graduation and after you proudly say you were suppose to propose 50% minimum criteria which indicates you were ready to sacrifice those 1% rights. You need to improve educational system from grassroot level where teachers marking system has no parameters. You can not go and sacrifice even those 1% right to service and to take part in national exam like Civil Services. It is a constitutional right of every graduate to appear in civil services exam. No self analysis and no data based on self determination can violate this right. This exam should be based on social economic cultural political behavioural and so on aspects.... coz it is these factors which determines our past and these factors should not allow our present and future. Therefore, having presided post like chairman of UPSC your narrow analysis makes me feel worry abt its future and future of those students whose educational background was shaped by above factors. Regards.

Actually this person has engineering background that is manifested in his analysis..beauty of life is in human ambition aspiration and endeavour....For him more than two chance is wastage of time. he shud know wasting time is much better than than life lacking risk...civil services is not like engineering and management where merit is everything but social and political justice is also ensured by giving representation to all sections of society.going by his logic power will be concentrated in some hands..he shud know that there is India outside Delhi and Pune and there r millions of institutions which have taken the oath to destroy the future of students..

Regarding, all civil servicses rejected candidates go for teaching. Thats not true in all the cases. You may check new faculties background of IIT, NIT, NIPER, Central Universities. Many are Ph.Ds from good universities or abroad, just after Masters-without wasting time. Most of them pursuing teaching and more focused in research.

जर तुम्ही तुमच्या full potential ne preparation keli असेल.... Like u never did before it at this extent ..... Then also u didn't get qualify ...just leave it ... U r not made for it... U r made for somthing bigger ....
Now u have to decide have u prepared at ur best
This is the message given in this video which I have comprehend
In Olympics all players at same level but gold medal wins only one who have prepared at their best
If any player couldn't do so he/she appear next time with full preparation at/beyond their limit
Moral is that be ur best version
If any aspirant qualifies in upsc with low grades earlier ...then he/she have expolred himself / herself during the preparation
Every student with with low grades does not qualify exam and every student with high grades also does not qualify exam
    Here Darwin's theory exactly matches

As a citizen of India every child coming from a rich family or a humble family, upper caste or from a lower caste has the right to live & die for the country🇮🇳
Civil Services is a social platform where any brilliant child can raise his or her social position in society which is not possible through a business or a private sector high paying job. It's not a job it's a service🇮🇳

Certain points like dissatisfaction of not getting an IAS or IPS or his view on reading the mother tongue literature is valid. However, certain remarks like only meritorious students in academics has to apply for civil service, achieving the rank at 30 is not good enough are over generalisation. The point is what is the personality, physical condition, mental alertness, experience and knowledge of the person at 30. If a person has invested time from 21 to 30 in gaining knowledge and experience of the world, he is the most ideal candidate to score a rank and don the role of country's top bureaucrat. I do agree with him overall that self assessment is the key.

Well, with the change in current pattern of grading system, the similar sets of students, who earlier scored less than 50% now scores 50-70% easily. That means they those who were earlier non capable are capable of getting through UPSC.
He uses the number '3' in most of his examples, like while saying that "none, but there were only 3 students who were....... so and so". Well, this number '3' might be his favorite or its and interesting coincidence in the history of UPSC.
He is surely not a person who promotes change with changing environment, which is understandable when he spoke about Social Media.
He said, similar sets of students can become WORLD'S BEST teacher if they leave IAS aspiration. but if they aspire for IAS then they will surely end up becoming a teacher who could not achieve his first choice. Well, I can list many people who did wonders with his second choice. Thus, this is not a very acceptable argument.
Bechare Baache par kya guzar rahi hogi. Complete talk is a destructive counselling. A cynical pessimism.

Person in service never say don't attempt this exam after 3 attempt, reduce the age...and they barely leave any govt facility or luxurious life style but after retirement they become buddha and give lecture on life🙄 dont reduce the age/attempt rather reduce your salary, perks and post retirement benefits .... Why there is no commt/commsn on reducing these extra benefits which govt servant get over pvt employee ... HYPOCRISY ki bhi sima hoti h
