My older brother made wine out of grapes back in the 60's and I wonder why his grapes turned to alcohol, instead of vinegar? I never liked whine or vinegar, then I found out from Dr. Berg that vinegar balanced our PH, so I learned to like it. Now I hear hat Vinegar helps people lose too much weight. Thank you for this video instruction.

When you leave sugary liquids to ferment it will turn into alcohol. If you then leave the alcohol to ferment even longer, the alcohol will turn into vinegar. In fact, vinegar is a breakdown product of the fermentation of alcohol. If you leave a bottle of wine open (for oxygen) at room temperature for a couple of days, you will eventually end up with a similar results... Perhaps, the vinegar will taste less sweeter and more sour.

The other difference is that alcohol fermentation is anaerobic whereas the fermentation for acetic acid (vinegar) requires oxygen. That’s why wine keeps for many years in closed jars but turns to vinegar in only a few weeks after opening.

Pretty vague. How much sugar? How much water? Should the grapes be washed or does that ruin the yeast? Room temperature? I know it needs to be stirred every day.

is it wine or vinegar? doesn't it need a second fermentation process to become vinegar?

Hi. I had white grapes(green ones) and i put them in a clay jar. Added sugar and water but after a week or two today i checked the vinegar but it had white stuff on it and little bit of mold was visible. The grapes were floating on top. Mixture was bubbling.Kindly guide if it is fungus(should i throw it) or is it normal.
