The singing was ON POINT. Some of the best I've heard in a high school production. The acting... left something to be desired, but it's understandable given the age of the actors. Great job!
@@brunabruneti1063as someone who went to this high school I can assure you it’s just a regular public school. I wasn’t there for this play but my senior year we did spring awakening which was also pretty crazy for a high school.
Actually as the director of this production and drama teacher we are a self funding program that relies on donations and AD’s/playbill. No full production co paid for any of this.
I love the Keith Haring artwork on the wall. It feels like the people who produced this really care about the messaging behind the musical ❤️ and that’s everything

@@hunterpearson892 I doubt it... Rights to the High School version are about $3,000/ $4,000 and building that set could be minimal is the teacher is smart and resourceful. The kids aren't paid. This is so amazing. I've loved this musical and everything about it ever since I was young. This was beautifully performed, the sets were awesome, and all the actors were so talented! Amazing job!
1:40-1:42 poor Collins. His friends were really disrespectful and were too caught up in their own relationships to comfort their friend. "I'd be happy to die for a taste of what Angel had." !? REALLY!? I would've gone off.
I cry every time the without you song comes because of Angel and I think this was one of the biggest times I've cried other than the original production
This was awesome!! I envy your funding. My only complain would be that Angel seemed to be holding back, especially in Today 4 U. The costume didn't do them very many favors either.
I have been to many RENT shows and this was pretty amazing for a high school group! The only thing I wished you all would have done was posted a pic of Jonathan Larson at the very end of your video. But overall amazing!

Ya know, when I initially saw this was a HIGH SCHOOL production of rent, I couldn't help but cringe. I saw the original cast on Broadway and many other professional productions of the show since then. After watching this, however, I gotta say the production was pretty damn good. Congrats to the school for having the balls to put this show on. Some prettt damn talented mf's at this high school.!
I’m gonna be playing Tom Collins in my school. I’m fine with everything I’m doing but. I just don’t know how come we can curse, guess that’s just how New York is lmao
@Laura Martin-Falla when I was in high-school we did in the heights and according to local critics we did a better job with singing/acting than our local big theatre who put it on a few years ago

Mimi and Roger had great chemistry! Joanne was talented and beautiful!
oh to go to a school where boys want to do theatre

i would have if they showed this and i knew what rent was at the time. i didn't appreciate theater but i do now.
Jeez even with this amazing cast it felt like every time Maureen sang she took the whole stage.
Thank you so much.
Best,
@ReillyWilmit (formerly “Maureen”)
Also, the guy who was Roger is great. Wonderful when you can have a full pro-production company pay for a high school musical.
Actually as the director of this production and drama teacher we are a self funding program that relies on donations and AD’s/playbill. No full production co paid for any of this.
Honestly it’s probably one the better high school productions of Rent
The angle costume was something

Holy shit that set is gorgeous I'm shook. Also yea good singing
Smart place to put the pit
the singing is an afterthought lol
When I saw the movie for the second time and finally caught the line "like your dead girlfriend?", I was like "MIMI!" LOL.
I came from pretty much it. Happy birthday matt Bennett.

Who played Mark? Great voice and look!
Colin Colchamiro, now a student at American University --

THE SET AHHHHH!! IN MY FRICKEN DREAMS

The dialogue is slightly off key and fast paced but other than that, it’s great. The actors are even moving around the set

At the start when Mark comes out, the rest of the cast should be running out with him. At least thats how it was done on Broadway.
Different productions do it differently. The Australian production Mark records Roger singing One Song Glory and sends it to a record label.
Everyone was great, however, there´s a little bit of a lack of energy.
