that landing gear idea was awesome looks great never thought of using suspension for greeble they refresh after 20 minutes the traders thank you i now know how to set event control and sorters
I am loving this series, one thing to note, is that you can improve the efficiency of the 'ejector' setup by NOT using the conveyer sorter to 'collect all', this will allow it to throughput waste material faster, Instead use the 'collect all' feature on the Ejector module. Looking forward to the next installment.
I like how you setup your base. I never thought of splitting things up. Just when I think I got the basics down, boom 2 assemblers can help each other 😲
My aim is to build every ship from scratch in this playthrough - I need the experience and a bigger backlog of ships. 😂 Once I am happy with the miner, I will be loading it to the workshop. 👍
When you create an enclosed space, think about incorperating redundant conveyor system within the walls, for feeding ammunition to various guns/cannons
I am not using any MES Mods for this playthrough, so I don't think I need to put defenses up on the planetary base. I think it will become more important once in space.
Cruise Control: The easiest way to avoid pushing against the speed limit and save fuel (but still have control over your ship) is to pick one of your forward facing thrusters and adding increase and decrease thrust override to your hot-bar. Having thrust override turned on will prevent your ship from auto-braking while still letting you turn, accelerate and decelerate without loosing altitude. In space this still gives you better control than turning your dampers off.
Isn't it just easier to then just group the front thrusters and disable/enable them? I know the override thrusters is mainly used on the backwards facing thrusters when leaving for space, that way you can set the speed to be just lower than 100ms
You start the design for your factorum raising ship now and refine it from now up until it is needed. It needs to be good in combat, having decent loot storage, and the ability to function as a tug!
Design of the battle ship will most likely start once in space, so I can design it with hybrid thrust (Hydro/Ion). And then I don't need to worry to get the weight from earth into space. 😊
Just trying to learn so I got a question: if you put a sorter on the base side of the connector directing the flow into the base and select 'Drain All' am I correct in that will drain everything from the ship that's hooked to that connector and it would it also stop the ships 'Ejectors' from draining the base of ice and stone and ejecting it? You mentioned shutting off the ejectors so it wouldn't drain the base and eject it. Am I understanding correctly the way the sorters and ejectors work?
Yes, if you have a sorter that drains everything from the connected vehicle, it will also block the ships sorters from draining the base. However, as I probably in the future will be connecting the miner to other locations, and I will be using that connector for a welder ship, I also would like to be able to withdraw materials from my base. It is possible to build a 2 way valve with 2 sorters, so that one drains all, or the other allows for loading up materials. 👍
Its a mod called "Textured Build States" It is honestly weird this is not a vanilla option, because it can add a lot of extra detailing you can do with this.
Instead of continuing your existing game, choose "Load Game" instead, select the save you want to add mods to, then choose "settings" in the settings menu, there should be a "Mod" button where you can add the mods you subscribed to.
On this mining ship, they way you set up the ejectors is ok. But if you had more ejectors, it's better NOT to have the sorters "drain all" and instead have the connectors do it. Doing this has a higher throughput than the way you have them currently. But again, since you only have 1 connector per sorter, it shouldn't matter in this case.
Love how you laid the foundation and setup your base.

Thanks, now I know how long it takes for them to refresh! 😊

Hmm.. I tried changing it, but did not see any difference - Maybe that is more important if you have more than one ejector on the same sorter?
@Beeblebum thats possible ... when using small port ejectors, I normally use 4 or 6 to keep up with 2 drills.

Neat ship design. Do you consider using projectors or sharing your designs on the marketplace?

@@Beeblebum Thank you, that answers what I was trying to understand of how a certain block works.
How do you get the block frames to show a color other than the basic unfinished color?

HI, I'm a new viewer and a new player, how do you add mods into a current game? Thanks for the tutorial as you go

Yeah, Someone suggested the same, and I did not see any difference at the time.
It should be more helpful when I add 2 more ejectors while in Space.
