People say these work by your own subconscious moving the piece around the board, which is a very logical and probably true in most cases, explanation. I used one once in my teenage years, we were in a friends basement, no one trying to impress or prove anything to anyone. Long story short, this board without a doubt was answering questions that we did not know the answers to. We asked it if we were speaking to something evil, the manner in witch it said "Yes" was nothing any of us could have come up with. I never used one again.
