I guess that was the point! They'd build something they wouldn't need to get out for anything. They had their own chapel inside, their own ball rooms for huge parties, marvelous gardens, and many people like family and friends lived together. So, where else would they go? And what for? I would leave it eather!!
Very interesting point. And the garden used to include the entire surrounding forest. So the King could hunt. No need to leave. Thanks for your comments
My God...the amount of marble effort and taste that went to build this place! Just look at the size of the rooms and pillars, marble and granite everywhere. Thanks for the video!
Quanti ricordi in questi bellissimo video😂😂😂meraviglia delle meraviglie!!!!! Tutti dovrebbero visitarla.!!!!! Oggi vivo lontano ma sei sempre nel mio CUORE💘💘💘
I personally prefer the 'warmth' of the rooms in Versailles (which mainly comes from the more human scale and the parquet floors), which make this palace a bit cold in comparison. That said, the incredible main staircase and rotunda of the Palace of Caserta are simply unrivaled anywhere else on earth. Truly fantastic!
@?,?, thats not "hence the term facade" A facade is just the front of the building. The term originated because fronts are often more decorated than sides because they are seen more
My mortal mind can't grasp this effort, quality and detail. Regardless of unlimited money and resources, still don't know how an architect can think this out and then somebody constructing it. Simply breathtaking. Now I can die.
Just amazing. Stunning insane beyond imagination craftsmanship on the highest of levels . as a constitution carpenter artist i bow down to those involved.
Il palazzo reale è stupendo, i suoi giardini sono fantastici le sue fontane, sembra di essere in paradiso!!! non c'è nessun edificio al mondo piu maestoso è bello!!!! da visitare, complimenti bel video!!!!!
I studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts when it was housed in the royal guard barracks and stables at Versailles. While these amazing buildings exhibit incredible wealth and the skill of thousands of craftspeople, it is still true that the money to finance the construction typically originated from the sweat of the "ruled" or the treasure acquired by conquest in the name of one ruler or another. I prefer to be awestruck by the incredible construction of world wide power infrastructure, clean drinking water facilities, sanitation systems, agricultural innovation, transportation systems and now the electronic communications systems that together allow us to be educated, healthy and informed citizens. These are truly breathtaking and have reshaped the world in less than three generations. My great grandparents were illiterate Norwegian immigrant share croppers in America. My father was (yes) a real live rocket scientist and I am a retired Architect.
Has there been anything built, in the 21st century, that could rival the extraordinary works of architects, artists, stonemasons, carpenters & builders of old? Is there anything as grand and magnificent?
He was intended to stay there as king of Naples. When he had opportunity to achieve the crown of Spain that had still a worldwide Empire in that age, he chosen to became King of Spain. Do you blame him for that? 😀😎😘
Great architecture, similar to India! Indians have been monumental and very bold builders in the past - from Angkor Wat to Taj Mahal. we still have many grand Palaces in Rajasthan and vast amount of huge temples in South India. It is said in India, that Romans made the stone obey their will (Arches, Domes, Vaults), while the Hindus made the stone sing and dance with exuberance! Love from India!
🤩Absolutely Stunning! 😍 My next home 🤣❤The Stunning statues,Art and Chandeliers. I would just roam around all day and then sit down with coffee ☕ and Enjoy the Beautiful Architecture. Ciao! ⭐🌹
Palaces and chateaus from so many centuries ago just fascinate me. Its pretty reasonable to go from studying European history to , naturally, jump into both Western art and as well as the architecture of those periods. A comment I was going to make, in retrospect is the almost extremely saddening of the burning of Cathedrale Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral - so many of these gorgeous buildings simply cannot be replaced. I believe that a large majority of buildings cannot be replaced but, as well, as we view these masterpieces from the 21st century, there are simply not enough highly specialized artisans to even attempt replace so many aspects of this type of architecture and design. That, OR if the right specialists can be obtained to work on these places and other buildings from centuries long ago, it would cost an exorbitant amount of money to do so. That leads me to the point that I wanted to make which is - to ever have to try and attempt to replace or fix or maintain these Western treasures, is quite difficult because many techniques and many restorers are simply too specialized in any number of areas; in other words, you don’t simply go to the phone book (remember those?) and call contractors to redo stone, or marble in the exact style of for example a 12th cathedral or a 18th century palace. And that’s one of the reasons why preservation is so crucial in order to maintain historical buildings as the palace of royal palace of Caserta, one example of thousands of historical gems.
I totally agree with you. I have walked through this palace thinking the same. Seeing Notre Dame burn just make me sick to my stomach. So sad. We have so much to lose in this world. Thanks for your comments.
Monsieur Marquis That is why we saw no stained glass in East Germany (DDR) after the war. There were no artisans, since all were factory or fabrik workers. Most windows had been destroyed, and could not be replaced. The East Germans pretended to work, and the government pretended to pay them. It was a depressing time.
