Great review! I love this tequila so much, easily a top ten favorite blanco for me. And so well priced for this quality. I get a bit of lime mortar, cement, wet paper, diesel, and cocaine on the aroma in addition to the cooked agave, pepper, and mineral salts on the nose. However, the taste and mouthfeel is where it really shines. It can feel a bit abrasive on the first sip, but by the second chew it erupts and coats the palate with a dense and oily blueberry fruit, earthy kirschwasser, robust cacao, and lingering volcanic and saline finish of jalapeno, bell pepper, and fruity peppercorn. I love Siete Leguas, Tapatio, Arte Nom, Gran Dovejo, and Fortaleza blancos. But, push come to shove, I think I'd take Pasote first. I mean, those are all great blancos. Hard to go wrong. Wish we got the G4 by me, but I'd guess it's in the same echelon.
I found a bottle of this over the weekend. I made the mistake of trying this while I still had the mint flavor in my mouth from gum that I had recently been chewing. This resulted in an extremely grassy flavor which wasn't bad but I fealt it had misrepresented the the true flavor of Pasote. I tried it again the next day with a clean pallete and was not dissapointed. Great Stuff!
I tried the reposado today and it's just as good or better than the fortelaza. Very good but different than the fortelaza. Ten bucks cheaper. Glad I discovered this.
Thanks for the review. I have been thinking about getting into tequila (scotch whisky drinker) - want to start with a Blanco. This one is at my local store - was leaning towards it or looking for G4. Cheers!
@@YFNYC Mauricio is a rock star and he makes Maracame, Mucha Liga, Casco Viejo and Carrera Tequila. He also make the Mexico Version of Familia Canarena (Not the US version).
The new stuff from NOM 1584 tastes nothing like the old stuff from NOM 1579. It's a different beast. Both are good but the new version has a funky flavor. It's like the Jack Daniels of tequila. The old version was minerally tasting, unique.
Price varies based on State, taxes and retailer. Every state and every store is going to charge different prices.. It's up to you to determine whether it's worth it or not.
@@TheTequilaHombre : It's up to me to determine if it tastes good too but were watching to get your opinion... which I appreciate and enjoy. No reason you can't say you think it's a good value at a certain price or that, for example, Casa Dragones is wildly overpriced or that as you pointed out, Sangre Alteña is a bargain.
Thank you for the review, this is in my top two blancos.
Had you tried this before now, or is this the first?
You're Welcome! Glad you liked the review and the tequila!

Awesome! I am glad you liked it. It's a really nice blanco!
Much more indepth review than I was expecting. Awesome!
Glad you liked it! We are about educating our viewers about the brands too!
Great video....Can't wait to try it!!! I want to know if this blanco is smooth enough with cigars ?
Cheers from Oklahoma
I think so!
I had a sample and fell in love. It was $45 for the bottle and I should have grabbed it. I've been looking for it ever since
It's all over the place. Hard not to find it places now..
Very thorough review sir
Thanks!
This finally made it to Arkansas! I thought it was an excellent tequila and cannot wait to try the other expressions!
Awesome! Glad you were able to get some and you liked it! It's a solid tequila.

I prefer G4 over Pasote but they are both good.
How does this compare to G4.
I am a complete novis. I want to try a clean tequilla.
It is right there with G4 in quality. Try them both together and see if you can tatse the difference. There is a difference. Thanks for watching!
The Pasote Reposado might be my new favorite repo. El tesero has been my normal repo sipper . But this might be the best !
It's good. Try the El Luchador Reposado. It's amazing.
Wonder if the repsoado is as good?
Watch the new review
Just had this. It’s phenomenal
Yep.. it's tasty!
What other brands does the Camarena familia make ?
This is Felipe. He makes G4, Pasote Volans and now Primo.
@@TheTequilaHombre how about Carlos ?

Great review. I'm not sure where I can find this in Florida. Luckily, I can get the G4 and would love to compare them heads up.
They both are really different ( I like the G4 better personally.. )
I have G4 and Pasote but unfortunately my state doesn’t have Fortaleza :/
So I understand
This one in on my first order at ferment and still
Awesome!
What is your top blanco
The one I am drinking at the time.. Too many really good ones to pick a best overall.

You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
What is your agave rating for this?
4
Sounds good but every review has the same description of flavors. You should discuss price and value as well.

I do say that on the videos. I say whether I would buy it at the price listed or not.
Can you do a review on the E40 tequila. e-quarantia
If I get a bottle I will review it.. Thanks for the suggestion!
This stuff is good but its not a top grade blanco. Makes a good marg. Just IMHO.
Thanks for sharing yout opinion! All opinions are welcome here..
Top stuff, but that minerality is bs, rainwater has none obviously
It was 40% spring water so its there... But thanks for your opinion and for watching.
