I keep forgetting the game isn’t finished lol, It looks very good most of the time and then something janky happens and I remember this is early access
Greg should give us an option to absorb a territory we control with another territory we have control over, a manor in, and enough military to conquer it.
The whole map scale isn't quite realistic so that's why you could have the impression that the territories are too small and too many, I guess with continuous improvements with the performance, they'll bring out bigger maps 👍
You're fast man.. Good stuff. I'd recommend start selling shoes super early from all that hide. That stacks fast and gives big advantage mid game upgrading houses and later exporting all production while taxing all this. Liked and subbed. This was intense stuff haha edit nvm you got it rolling well later
I think the housing is inefficient. They way I do it is build the houses that have double families in it. The cost still 2 logs and you get 2 families per house(+2 logs for the expansion which still the same cost as another small house). You build less houses and get more people, also you use less fuel and food in compare to building small house that take resources and space.
It's not always best to do double plots. Though you are right about fuel since that is consumed per plot but food is consumed per family so it doesn't matter whether you do single or double plots for food consumption. Building one double plot costs the same as building two single plots so you're not using any more resources for the same number of families, though it does take a bit longer to build a single than the extension to a double. Space is abundant so that doesn't really matter. Single plots are better for backyard extensions most of the time. Take chickens for example. Eggs are produced on a 1 egg per plot per month basis so having 10 single chicken plots would be better than having 5 double chicken plots since in both cases they'd still only produce 1 egg per month. So you'd get 10 eggs out of the singles and 5 out of the doubles. The only backyard extensions where you really need a double plot are veggies and apples.
The thing about the AI paying you to drop the claim is actually a bug: the game considers that you are winning the fight because you have units on the battlefield and he doesn't, so he surrenders because he is "losing". The size of your army doesn't matter at all, you could have 5 retainers on the battlefield and he would pay you to drop the claim. Another bug to avoid his expansion is to contest the claim and offer the same to him, but you actually don't spend any treasury at all. I personally don't engage in diplomacy at all because it's cleary buggy and trivialises the game.
have you ever tried a deforest strat for hardcore? in all games like this, it usually works for me to focus on trade and just shop down trees to sell for stuff i need.
Yeah wood is a solid early game trade since you can do it in any region! I find it's much slower to build wealth than some of the "better" starting regions, but it's still good
Love the videos man! Your voice and ”low quality” production remind me so much of another creator/streamer. Have you, or anybody else in here heard of Masterfiend? He used to stream LoL, Among Us etc on his laptop in his bed. You guys sound so similar it’s scary. You give off the exact same vibe. Same accent, delivery and how you try explain your thought process and all that. First time I thought you were him in disguise lol. Anyways, cheers!
Very impressive, I have noticed the AI is different, and yes, probably better. They try to flank more and I have even had them come from two or three different directions, and we have to remember, the game is still a work in progress,. great video,.
Do you think it would be harder with no bandits and no raids? I am gonna try that next. I was thinking it would be a real challenge to make all the influence by tithing... especially with double spoilage. I would suppose it would be good to build wide. I suppose it will be even harder when he fixes the diplomacy! Lol
Yes I think it's harder but start with max bandit camps and then choose no bandit spawning and no raiders. That way baron gets max influence at the beginning and then you get none for free. All must be farmed. Challenge is to win by year 8. I did by year 10 but you can do year 8 I bet.
Man that video editing sure went into hyperdrive after you started ted building the second city, also did you change microphones at some point during the game or was that you just losing your voice?
@@Nerothos91 Yeah I think maybe I need to watch some audio editing videos to clear it up further. It's definitely one of my weaknesses when it comes to video production
Yeah when I turn on my wall AC unit behind me in my little garage office, I have to turn on a filter to remove it but it also removes a lot of my voice with it. It's definitely better this way but still pretty annoying. I might have found a better solution - will be running some tests this week!
@@Imme_N I just found some tools yesterday that should be able to fix these issues!! I'm super excited to try them out :D I paid for the Studio version of Davinci resolve (editor) and it has voice isolation and background noise removal AI functions. I tested it out on some other audio that was messed up and you can't even tell the difference from the good audio. Sorry again for the bad audio - 3 years into UA-cam and I'm still learning new stuff all the time
I think there should be a map where the nodes are fixed and the player can pick their starting zone. Some rich node combinations are so bad that you can't really select focuses properly because it's all over the place.
Rather than having it fixed I'd prefer at game setup just being able to choose my starting region and the rich resources I get and then the rest can be randomly generated. Edit: also with the resources where you get one or the other (like fish or berries, or iron or salt), being able to choose which of those you get would be good
hi, my commerce isn't working properly. I opened some routes for shields, bow,.. like you have done in the video. however my shields are not getting transported towards the commerce, hence none are sold. Same for my shoes almost half of the stock stays in the warehouse. What could i do to solve that and get more moneeeeey Love your video you are kicking his ass very nicely
No mods in this one - i made sure to hire them before each battle so the ai doesn't reserve them all. They take over the map super fast so that actually helps keep more in reserve
Is this still in its beta? Why is there no campaign or game progression? I get you can build up your settlements but why is there no one else on the map except bandits?
yes its in beta. real AI-opponents (who are also building settlements) are palnned, but will most likley only come after all other stuff is in so that the AI does not have to be changed every patch to accomodate the new stuff that gets put in
Sorry my whole family was passing a sickness back and forth for like 2 months and I barely got any work done. We are pretty much back to normal and I was able to get some Stalker 2 gameplay out today. I've got a lot planned before end of the year!
Agreed. I put a suggestion on the discord to nerf mercenaries. To be fair, it's not that much hardest because you can expand to all YNt regions with a very small town in each with retinue from each fully upgraded. The real challenge is militia only lol
This guy is so efficient he can cut corners and make new squares
Lol a fellow grid enjoyer i see

Much appreciated!!

Yeah shoes are a great resource to sell! Getting the first 80g to open up the trade route can be tough without selling hides first
Sheep are strong too, once you get the double meat from butchers having 40 sheep in your settlement with sheepbreeding is a very solid food source

And yet I struggle with the default settings 😂
I'm working on a guide on the guide channel for how to defeat the Baron that should help!

One thing ive seen people do, is send likes one unit around back to sack the brigand camps, while the enemy is fighting the actual brigands.
Awesome video, do you ever change the threshing priority at the farm house? Also if you get two carts per farmhouse is it one person per cart or two?
Nice to see some manor lords.
great video but please fix your small-room-esque echo in your audio, it's hard to hear you
Your village doesnt look so bad this time, nice to se! Awesome cutting, this game can be so slow to look at, heads up to your cutter :)
Dood this is epic thanks for playing on hardest settings. 🎉
Glad you enjoyed this one! I'll probably do another ML challenge before end of the month

Lol don't they allow hunting on some nature reserves? Gotta keep the population in a certain range :)
love the vid but u should really get a pop or s filter for your microphone, ur voice is kinda sharp.
Sadly i have both - pop filter and in my editor i use a de-esser.

Don't be too aggressive with the noise removal. Rather leave a bit of white noise in, so your voice does not sound so distorted.

Fun to watch

Did you use any mods for the mercenaries? They're usually "stolen" by the AI in my runs before I can get to them.
