Hello guys,
Hope you are doing well. Here is a quick lesson video for beginner/intermediate players. For more than 15 years I have been teaching Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons: III. Carpe Diem Arpeggio to my students and they are improving very fast in very short time period… So you will see that you’re going to jump to next level less than two weeks.
Just try to memorize all the bars step by step and try to play slowly and don’t give up till you finish it!!!

Note: The Camera angle is not perfect but I usually suggest my students to work this song with alternate picking technique to master their picking so you can push your limits too.

That Taylor sounds great bro. Always gives me smiles when I see something played position for position how I play it. I run through this a couple times a month to keep it tight, and then play the Darkest of Winters instrumental section after, because its just so damn good and tasty. I freaking HATE that 2 - 6 stretch though...and of course there is two of em.
Learn this people, its super fun. Don't get discouraged, it will absolutely take a couple days just to get it into your brain...but its well worth it.

That’s a great tab, especially at the ending section, I’ve been learning it from the Crammit app (revive of Jammit) but this one is much more easier to play.

Cris Ben That’s the sign of improving man. I hear that from my students a lot and never seen somebody injured. If it hurts a lot give some break. Also start practicing guitar with stretch🤘

It’s pretty tough, but it won’t be nearly as bad once I actually know the song and picking patterns. the worst part is trying to hold the stretches and chord shapes and keep your fingers on the notes while your learning it and figuring everything out. If I only had to hold the stretches for like 2 seconds it wouldn’t be as bad lol. Petrucci is a sadomasochist I think, especially since I’ve seen some of his warm up and practice videos hahaha...
It’s a great exercise and sounds just amazing :)

Sir I have a question ,did John Petrucci used a seven string acoustic guitar in the intro of A Change of Seasons? Because the intro has a low B notes..where did he get an acoustic guitar having a seven string?

Şu ana kadar elektroda sürekli riffler ve sololar öğreniyordum sadece uzun bir süre kendi kendime gelişmeye çalıştığım için. Akorlar arperjler vs. tarzı şeylerde baya zayıf kalmışım da fark etmemişim. Parmaklar da kısa olunca baya zorlayıcı oldu bu şarkı ama oldukça işe yarayacağını düşünüyorum. Teşekkürler video için.
