I don't get why many people hate Lightning so much. In my opinion, she's more realistic than much more FF characters. Even in the frozen lake in the beginning she physically attacked him because (just my interpretation) because she didn't want her hopes raised only to be dashed. And then her interaction with hope in the weaponization zoo later(sorry I keep forgetting area names) her stance slowly develops due to her seeing how she was acting by seeing the similarities in Hope. And there are a ton of examples of this throughout the entire series where snow and lightning are butting heads about different ways to solve the same problems. But again that's just what I saw

True. Thats what I like about Lightning's character. Even though FF13 was a disappointing game in the series, Lightning was an amazing character. I even like how she calls out people's bs. She is more proactive than just talking.
She gave up everything for Serah when their parent died and at the time, she was only a kid. She wanted to become stronger to protect Serah, so she became Lightning, a soldier, locked her heart away, stopped smile, cry, stopped doing anything that could possibly make she weak. She forced herself to keep on going even though she's the one who suffered the most from losing Serah. I cried when she said "Please, Don't leave me alone" at the ending of lightning return, when in saw her tear, her smile, i realised that she could be the strongest one in the whole FFXIII series, yet weakest one in her heart, the woman who also want someone else to protect her but no one could, so she forced herself to became stronger for Serah, for anyone else she wanted to protect. She is truly the perfect woman.
Lightning is one of the strongest female characters ever in the history of video games. She can single-handedly fight the strongest villains in all Final Fantasy 13 games with very little help. This woman can kill God and she makes it look easy. I think it is great that girls have a female protagonist that is not your typical barbie doll or princess toadstool, but instead is as hardcore as Xena Warrior Princess or Sarah Connor from Terminator. People that dislike her mostly misunderstand her character, her greatest flaw is that she is afraid of showing any kind of emotional weakness when really that is what is troubling her. Just like Bruce Wayne lost his parents, Lightning lost her parents too when she was young and so Lightning was born although her real name is Claire Farron. She cares about her sister Serah even though she is tough on her, she feels she has to grow up fast to be the mother and father for her sister Serah. She lives in a world where the Gods are cruel and enslave humanity and eventually she becomes a slave to the gods demands. All she ever wanted was to live a happy life like everyone else but she knows that as long as the gods are evil the happy life she wants isn't possible which is the whole story of Final Fantasy 13. When it comes to her friends and companions, she doesn't show it but she will do anything she can to protect them with her own life. She is not selfish, She is a woman that is on a quest to fight for her freedom and that of her friends and eventually save the world.

I don't think that it is God whom she fought in the end of FFXIII-3. Because if is, all she can do would be to swipe at the air, and she'll still get aids or some deadly disease, then she dies. Or God can just take away all her powers in a snap. The final boss was just the guy who made the Fal'Cie-essentially he's just an advanced alien whose progeny got worshipped as gods. They may call him God, but that's far from the real deal. As for Lightning herself, I like her, because she's a badass and she's a very flawed, emotional, human character. Enough to be a hero, but human enough not to be a Mary Sue.

Damn, she really does the Liara voice in this game. I know the VA (forgot her name atm) is good and I've looked up her others works, but her voice for Lightning is VERY similar to the voice she used for Liara in ME, almost exact.

I admit that when I first saw the cutscene movies of the whole FFXlll triglogy, Lightning wasn't my favorite, but since I chose her as a lead character in a future fanfic of mine, I decided to study her character by watching the cutscene movies again, and I believe that I have indeed made the right choice. Lightning is strong, brave, and very dedicated to those she cares about. Funny thing is that, originally, my first candidate was Elsa from Frozen, but after I decided to change that, I see that she and Light actually have a lot in common with one another... :)

Lightning reminds me of Fem-Shep in Mass Effect. Cool; of course Lightning doesn't have the option of exterminating an entire race or blowing up an entire colony like Fem-Shep does, but so what? Lightning is my kind of girl. If only you could play as her in Fallout 3 without mods...
She really warms up through the second disc actually. Like how she showed concern for hope, or stopped blaming snow, and apologized. I thought the characters all played out mostly the same way.
On the topic of strong female characters, from a Final Fantasy POV, what about Yuna (FFX) and Faris (FF5), and Rydia (FF4) They are were strong female characters. Yuna never needed to be rescued (since she insisted on doing things by herself and she fought off her first kidnappers) and all summoners, men and women, had to be protected. Faris was a captain of a pirate crew, and had to rescue Bartz at some point. Rydia never had to be rescued either, as she rescued the entire party by herself.

FFIII-3: Lightning Returns made her seem more compassionate with they way she helped people with all their small problems even if her motivation for doing that was to save her sister. Hopefully she does a lot more smiling in her next life after the trilogy.

Damn, she really does the Liara voice in this game. I know the VA (forgot her name atm) is good and I've looked up her others works, but her voice for Lightning is VERY similar to the voice she used for Liara in ME, almost exact.
I love Lightning's dialogue and just her character overall. Can relate to her; also Serah lol but I think Lightning more so.

My favorite character in FF
I admit that when I first saw the cutscene movies of the whole FFXlll triglogy, Lightning wasn't my favorite, but since I chose her as a lead character in a future fanfic of mine, I decided to study her character by watching the cutscene movies again, and I believe that I have indeed made the right choice. Lightning is strong, brave, and very dedicated to those she cares about. Funny thing is that, originally, my first candidate was Elsa from Frozen, but after I decided to change that, I see that she and Light actually have a lot in common with one another... :)

Lightning is probably one of the most intense characters and aggressive at that out of all the main protagonists in the series.

On the topic of strong female characters, from a Final Fantasy POV, what about Yuna (FFX) and Faris (FF5), and Rydia (FF4) They are were strong female characters. Yuna never needed to be rescued (since she insisted on doing things by herself and she fought off her first kidnappers) and all summoners, men and women, had to be protected. Faris was a captain of a pirate crew, and had to rescue Bartz at some point. Rydia never had to be rescued either, as she rescued the entire party by herself.
