Hi
You are not going to believe what was causing this misfire....
This car came to me with a really bad running, shaking badly up to about 3k rpms... Injection fault would come on under hard acceleration/load , smoking badly and low on power...
On the ecu a fault for a misfire on cylinder 2...
Follow me on this video to find out what was the problem and how to resolve it.
Hope you enjoy the video.
Any questions or comments put them below.
Like always, thank you for watching!
Had the same problem with a Toyota a few years ago from another garage. Car came in as a hard start, smoke, stall. After pulling the injectors all 4 of them had 2 washers 😒
Anyways great video and thanks for sharing! 👍

Wow what a strange sequence of problems! I guess whoever originally changed that injector was careless or got distracted halfway or something. Great catch, well done.
It looks like...
And then could not figure out his own mistake...

Copper washers!!!! Damn. I should have guessed sooner!

Always must be checking the hole where injectors seat...someone didnt and 2 washers were found. This is a huge mistake.

@@LMAutoRepairs hi mate. I have a Renault trafic 2.0DCI 2012 ERROR CODE df067 injection multiplexed emission missing, I have oil pressure fault error on screen. And my van don't start fire but don't start.. Did you know about this code error? Thanks
Never came across it... I think...
On which module is that stored, and what is the code description?
Thank you for watching!
Omg totally proves what I think also. I never trust work done... people are just lazy and their attention to detail frankly stinks.
Hope you get a surprise gift for your detective work!

Hope the dpf or catalytic converter isn't blocked because of that misfire. Also EGR valve.
Everything else looked ok... and the car drove absolutely fine... so...🤞

Hi, I have the same car with the same problem df 60 when I start on the cold then some time does not work the second cylinder.Prompt as solved a problem of emergence of an error.I don't speak English. Thanks
This would effect the timing on the cylinder with two washers lucky it did not do any engine damage !!!!!!
Indeed!
It shows that attention to detail is crucial when working on cars... and some common sense... lol~
Thank you for watching!
@@LMAutoRepairs This way now i hope everone can see why you should never cut the seats of the injectors . take too much off and the timing will be out for that cylinder !!!
@@kasapis6
Yes... you can "clean"... but as you said, cut... you can end up with this problem...
Well, if you cut too much, you can always put 2 washers.... lol
Cut the seats only if is allowed to use big washer to compensate the difference...
My washers on scenic 1.5 dci are about 13.7mm diam ext. 7.2mm int. and 3mm thick..delphi injectors
How did you connected those bottles to injectors for test your car? I have Renault clio and have similar issues
Yes... to the injectors return...
👍👍👍
Could an issue like that lay dormant for a while before presenting symptoms?
Very good 👍
Thanks!

Hello, I have a 2012 kia Rio with 1.8L, the care came to me because of the check engine light is on. When I scanned the car I found P0107 MAP sensor code. I checked the ground and the 5V I found that the sensor is missing the 5V from the ECU, I checked for poor connection and I found nothing. My question (is it possible to recompense the missing 5V of the MAP by the 5V of the Camshaft sensor I have not tried that so far but I just want to try it before replacing the ECU.
and thank you.
Most likely you can... somethings the 5v supply is shared across a few sensors etc...
But check the wiring all the way back to the ecu...
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
@@LMAutoRepairs I checked the wire all the way from the MAP to the ECU and it's good the resistance is 0.01 Ohms so I'm not gonna replace the ECU at the moment
@@husseinolivia2548
Ok... try take the 5v from other sensor then..
Just make sure is not an issue with that sensor, and you are going to cause further damage to the ecu...
super video as always
Thanks!

Hi. First of all, nice work. Simple question, is that hantek cc-65 current clamp meter? I know that's not related to this video and I want to buy current clamp and don't know should I buy cc-65 or cc-650 for this type of work. What's your opinion?
Hi
Yes... this one is the cc-65...
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
thats some under burn on number 2 . i surprised the injector sealed with 2 washer in. i may be wrong but i think the 2 washers messed up the injector swirl pattern
No... you are right... plus was a slightly more area to compress, most likely making the combustion to happen at the wrong time...
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Brilliant, as usual, thanks
Thanks Peter!

@@LMAutoRepairs hi. I have a oil pressure fault error. df067 injection multiplexed emission missing. A friend try to Open my ecu to remap by boot and broken a ceramic capacitor and joint two legs of the chip 40076 bosch. After this issue come. So I think the problem is in the ECU.. Because before he ruined the ecu the van worked beautifully
Thumbs up....great job Luis

Hello Luis , could you explain the connections for this back-licking thing with the four bottles? Thanks

I have the same car with the same engine and same exact problem after the car overheated in the highway due to a leak of water. Do you think it may be caused by something similar?? Nice video
Hi
If it has overheated, have it proper checked first... mainly for a bad head gasket...
Check also that the extreme temperatures have not caused other damage...
Thank you for watching!
@@LMAutoRepairs Will do! cheers mate

Do you think the mechanics did this purposely??

I hope not... cause either way he had to pay me just to rectify his purposely mistake... lol

Hi, I've got a Renault fluence 1.5 dci, 2012 manufactured (megane). It's called the fluence here in India. The problem that I have is that all the injectors (continental) don't have codes on them. And I can't seem to code the injectors. Any info on this will be helpful. Thanks.
Why don't they have the codes?
Are they missing?
Thank you for watching!
@@LMAutoRepairs Not missing, it's just that all the 4 injectors don't have the 6 digit code..
At idle the engine is not smooth, it vibrates, can feel it in the cabin. Have changed the mounts but still I know it's not smooth. It vibrates only at idle. The fuel correction readings are Cylinder 1 is. 1.1
Cylinder. 2 is 1.19
Cylinder 3 is. 0.98
Cylinder 4 is. 0.92
Can't read the current injector codes on the scanner. It just doesn't shown any current stored injector codes...... There aren't any errors as well.. But it's just not smooth at idle.
Right...
Not all systems require the injectors to be coded...
Know, if that one needs, then the codes stamped on the injectors should be programmed into the engine ecu...
That injector would have been spraying across the under side of the head and disturbing the pattern.......don't see how the timing was affected tho
I guess what he meant was that the combustion would not happen at the exact time...
Thank you for watching and for your comment!
@@LMAutoRepairs yeah fair comment........great videos look forward to the next
