Amazing, been looking for a video of someone ACTUALLY uploading font files into the website and not just touching the css somehow. Worked wonders thank youuuu
This was so helpful AND easy. Whilst I can change each heading manually now, I am unable to change it in the theme to appear across the site like your video does though. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Which theme are you using? Most have an option in the Customizer to edit the font for all headings, but that setting does vary a bit from theme to theme.
Hello, thank you for your video, very helpful, I have an issue though, I can customise the entire website but I don't know how to find a way to customise one page only with different fonts. Is it possible? When I go into the fonts options I don't see the google font list. Thank you
I follow the steps and got no error when uploading the fonts but it doesn't show on my headings. The plugin says that they can handle Elementor page builders. Not sure if I missed a step
You probably already resolved this, but just in case...did you select those fonts in your theme Customizer? If you're using Hello Elementor theme, you'll have to choose the headline fonts in the Elementor Theme Settings, too.
@@jennielakenanofficial I went to Font Squirrel and when I downloaded their zip file all it contained was tff files. Don't I need the other formats too?
Hello! First of all great video and super easy to follow along! I followed these steps and my uploaded font is not showing up, do you have any suggestions?
Do you have an SSL certificate installed? If so, it might be that the font URL is http and not https. If that's the case then it just need to replace the link with an https version -- that's been the issue with other commenters in your situation anyway.
Hi I'm having a problem. My font does not show up. It just looks the same. I did not get any errors. It loaded fine just doesnt look like the font. The font is called called Old Scotch Clean.otf
Are you using Elementor? If so, that might be the problem if the Elementor settings aren't set up properly. You'll want to be sure to disable default colors and default fonts by going to Elementor > Settings and placing a check in the boxes next to Disable Default Colors and Disable Default Fonts. Let me know if this helps!
@@jennielakenanofficial No that wasn't it. I figured it out. It wasn't showing up properly because of the http. Had to change it to https. It didn't have the correct link set up. I found out alot of people had the same problem. Thanks for getting back to me.
@@jennielakenanofficial It’s also not working for me. I use https and I also checked the settings. I’ve tried multiple fonts and non of them is working. I am using elementor as well.
why google fonts? This video has been so unhelpful and extremely difficult to follow. I cannot get to 2:37. After installing custom fonts i click into it and i try to click add fonts and the page is blank. I am not sure if its because this is a video made 3 years ago and wordpress maybe has changed stuff?
Sorry to hear that you're having trouble! This is still the process my team and I use to add custom fonts, so it does still work. Did you end up getting this figured out?
A nice clear video - however - I'm trying to upload a .ttf file for a font I want......but it seems as if WP won't let me - when I try to upload it fails and says 'sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons'. Am I missing something? It works fine for me in Office applications......
Did you install the WP Extra File Types Plugin? If not, try installing it and then editing its settings go allow ttf. That's the workaround I use if I'm still getting a security error when uploading custom fonts.
@@jennielakenanofficial Yeah, I've been working with the Kadence theme using only the block editor, and I wasn't able to get it to work. Perhaps if you have Elementor installed, it might work. I haven't tried that.
@@antipusrises it looks like the Kandence theme may have their own process for installing custom fonts. Their help docs talk about installing a Kadence Custom Fonts plugin to activate fonts. If seems that's definitely the way to go with that particular theme!
@@jennielakenanofficial They do, yeah. You'll need to run the Code Snippets plugin and then insert a custom script to add fonts that you included from a css addition. Not as smooth, but it does get the job done. It admittedly took me a few days to finally see how to make it work, but I got it done. Thanks for looking into that!
I followed the instructions and uploaded two TTF files but I dont see the custom fonts in my font family. Do you know what could possible be wrong?

This is awesome! Thank you so much for this I just implemented this on my website after making my fonts from Font Self App!

where did you get the font files?
You can download free font files online from places like Font Squirrel. Or, you can buy premium fonts from places like Creative Market.

Can this plugin be removed after you install your custom font?
You'll actually want to keep it installed as long as you're using the font.
It didn't work for me. :-(
Sorry to hear that! Can you describe what's not working? I might be able to help troubleshoot if you give more details.
