Definitely. I actually did my first mix using one, and to be honest when I A/B it with the mix I did with the Fortin Namelss plugin, I prefer the ampero+seacow cabs IR. It really just sits in the mix in a way that sounds very natural while still cutting through but not being overpowering.
Seacow Cabs are our favorite IRs for a long time. They were always very good and they got even better through the years. And the best thing that they are raw, so you actually learn how to mix the goddamn guitars :D
Sounds so awful. And its not the irs only...try a good plugin like th-u (the additional mp match libraries especially), which is the best for me. Compared to the sound in your vid it is another world. I saw.you already tried the stl plugin. Thats good too and it comes at least a bit close to th-u.
I've haven't tried the th-u yet, but have been recommended it before. I actually like the revv 4x12 from these free IRs. Some of them were.... underwhelming to say the least. I realize a lot of people may not like my guitar tone in general, but that's OK. I'm very much enjoying using the ampero with the ridiculous saturation. I have Neural DSP and STL tones plugins, but still enjoy the Ampero more 🤷♂️

Well, try high and low pass filters (at least 140 and 8200), use ownhammers IRs (they all sound good, especially the shure 57 ones) and when this doesnt soujd better, change plugin, which is the biggest factor and they will not complain anymore, except these few guys who always have to dislike a youtube video

Good question, I didn't cover that! Ampero to apollo. I never use the ampero or ge200 as my sound card because it messes with the drivers of the apollo.
@@TaylorDanley Thanks for the answer. Does using an amp modeler before the interface mess with the gain of the signal going into the interface? I know when you go in DI it's not a problem to just adjust the gain on the interface so it doesn't clip, but what about if you have an already sculpted tone signal from the modeler going into the interface? Will you have to adjust the gain settings on the interface whenever you switch from clean to dirty tones to keep it from clipping going in? Sorry for the long question lol
Yes! Actually, I've found that at line level, my ampero is pretty quiet. You have to be conscious of your gain staging when routing this way, since both the interface and ampero have line/instrument level options for the I/O. However, when using it correctly, it gives you the option to further color the tone the same as you would if it were a real amp mic'd up going into a console. The apollo in particular has some AMAZING console emulation (I didn't use it here though).

I like the Seacow lab impulses. I like the selection of bass cabs they have, as well as the variety of guitar cabs. So many possibilities!
