You're looking great Steve, and as always great job. I agree, whoever winterized that system should pay for the repairs/
not many irrigation companies are knowledgeable with blowing out a system with a double check valve OUTSIDE the house...so it freezes...such unfortunate stuff.....charge a fortune to go **** and do ****y work.
you've earned bragging rights on those solder joints!
Good job Steve!
I don't know why but i think plumbing is super cool. Theres just something about all those pipes and pumps n stuff that makes it so cool.
Good job,Steve
steve love ur videos thanks for sharing ur knowledge i c u love what you do i feel the same way im a electrician n love sharing my knowledge with others keep up the good work n keep videos coming thanks again
Awesome video Steve
Well done as usual!!
Why didn't you just turn the ball valves on the vacuum breaker a half turn so it would be a right handed vacuum breaker. I replaced about a 100 vacuum breakers a year for 40 years.
good job
I guess the sprinkler company didn't use compressed air or bother to drain water in standing spots. Next level repair job on your end Steve. Maybe next year the homeowner will have you do the winterize job too!
This guy is a true definition of a hack job. Guy shouldn’t even be touch a pressure vacuum breaker either.
awe love the ending! it's a must deal Moma, lesssssst go!
looks great
Next level mama!
what happened Stevie thought mama was giving you a slap LOL
Next level
Like those strong forearms. I can't stop looking.
Easy now, lets keep the comments on Steve's forearms at that.
They are Popeye arms.
How does that pipe have so much play?
Great job Steve..really like your videos. By the way, my sprinkler guy quoted me $600 to replace this valve using PVC. I just did it myself for $130. Not begrudging anyone trying to make a dollar, but $600? It took me less than an hour. Curious if that price is on par or not.
Steve what's your opinion on sharkbite fittings?
i do not use them .only if i have no other choice .always best to solder .
ball valves should be left half open during the winter. they will split even if winterized .
Hey Steve: I'm down South, and for applications like this, we use plastic. Why is copper used up North for stuff like this?
there is plastic in the ground
if a pressure reducer valve neds to be put in for sprinkler system only, what would come first, back flow preventer or pressure reducer valve?
awesome, if you cant it? nahh. you dont give up, cause problem solving! :), someone has to so :P lolz! ! nice!
Rotate ball valves on the back flow preventer not sprinkler valve
bet there are some split underground lines if they didn't winterize properly.
They would be better off leaving the ball valve halfway open that way the water would not trap behind the ball.
It would have been better if they would have put the backflow preventer on the warm side of the wall. So that it wouldn't be exposed to the cold. You then simply turn it off, connect up the blowout, and blow it out, done deal...
throttle bottle Correct but inside can use an RP instead of the pvb
double check as in a 007 watts would be fine on yard sprinkler.
@@vdubskiee5356 Not a plumber, but I do live in a place where we get temperatures below freezing for as long as 6 months a year, and a backflow preventer that is outside like that would not survive a Canadian winter.
made in China
Im glad that type of backflow is illegal here.
double check and reduced pressure backflows are the only types allowed by law in our state
