Late finding this - but you underscore here something I've thought even before 2015, when Trump declared himself a "great businessman", but not a politician. The truth is the opposite.
He's NEVER been good at business (beyond what you mention, FIVE bankruptcies in casinos, belying "the house always wins" motto of competency) - but he's ALWAYS been a politician (strict def'n)... which is very like the "grifter" you suggest & reveal.
I think you're too intelligent for my channel. 😀 That's very thought provoking comment. I could make a 100 videos alone on everything Trump claims to be great at. But yes, he succeeded in politics and got richer in the process. This time just the country went further in debt instead of him. Thanks for the comment, now I need to get back to dick jokes.
