REP is offering the best power rack innovations hands down. 10% an entire cart saved me $750 with specialty barbells, attachments, new barbell they launched (black Diamond), Blackwing bench, and plates. Can’t wait to set it all up.
I bought a PR5000, dual Athena with upgraded weight stacks, and the PR5000 lat pull down/low row with upgraded weight stack, the AB5200 2.0, and the ForceUSA hack squat/leg press 😮💨
Immediately when I saw REP’s rack week go live I pulled the trigger. Got an Ares, Blackwing, Colorado Bar, and loads of accessories. Finally upgrading from my FB marketplace equipment and I’m stoked.
@covidcarl7480Ultimately why I went with the Athena. You gain the real estate in the rack a bit, but I’ve learned that you lose some flexibility in what can be attached (i.e spotter arms/straps) on the middle posts in a 6 post setup. For me, it was a worthwhile tradeoff, but it is a tradeoff nonetheless. Everyone’s use cases are going to end up a bit different.
@covidcarl7480 yeah that was one of the things I was going back-and-forth on between the Aries and the Athena with a selectorized lat pull down. Just couldn’t justify the extra $600-$700 for a modestly better set up.

It’s a long time till Black Friday now though. If I was in your position, I wouldn’t out off the purchase for just a few hundred bucks.
No one wants those so they are selling them to get rid of them. Probably coming out with a new design that is better. Reminds me of last year they were selling all these barbells that had sleeve issues. Plates couldn't fit lol.

A true home gym isn't really for saving money by not going to a commercial gym its for the convenience. The only downside is the space and the no interaction with other people which can be a pro or con.
I actually love Snode 80. It's durable and super quick. I got the Platemate 2.5 lbs x4 and Snode 1.25lbs x8 which now I can increase my weight to 100lbs if I want to
If the self spotting system actually works, that would be a game changer for people really looking to push their lifts to the next level. Especially so with the ability to focus on the eccentric portions of lifts like that. My only concern would be does the price really make it worth it over a good pair of spotter bars or straps.
I actually own it. They have the full rack, the half rack, and just recently they came out with a rack attachment for any rack. I have the PR5000 and it connects very well. The biggest plus is the fast set up. You simply move it to you’re starting point and add weights and do your lift. Stop anywhere you want along the way. No changing heights on J cups or spotter arms. The other upside is obvious, it’s a smith machine that has better stopping potential and moves in all ranges of motion once engaged. Downsides are the price, barbell weight start around 110 but feels more like 130 which may be a lot for some lifts. The grips on the bar take up some room so if you have a wide grip like a do on bench you have to come in a little bit. It also has a few moving parts and the thought of it failing is always a possibility. Max weight is 400 lbs. Cool idea though. I also have SpotGrips and I prefer them over the XPT though they are a little more finicky.
I've tried it at a commercial gym. Feels so awkward. It doesn't really solve a problem. More like novices who are afraid the barbell is going to go flying.
I finally bit the bullet and ordered a Rogue Ohio Power Bar. I was debating which power bar to buy for a while. It came down to the 29 Texas Power Bar, Rep Double Black Diamond and the OPB. I was convinced i would go for a boneyard bar but when this November sale came on i saw that the boneyards were sold out. However I ordered the OPB with black Zinc shaft and bright zinc sleeves for $245 + shipping to Florida was $25. So for $20 more I got a new one. I have to say I am really impressed and I know i am very late to the game with this opinion. I have weightlifting background and use weightlifting bars but now that I am getting into more of the power lifts it is vastly different feel. I was impressed with that sale (i think it was $50 off) and the stainless steel OHP with matte black sleeves was $100 off. I stuck with the black zinc / bright zinc combo as I didn’t feel the stainless steel bar with the those sleeves was worth another $50.00 on top of the one i ordered. It’s a beautiful bar and compared to the other bars i shopped around for i dont think that price will be beat.
It’s a damn shame prime fitness never does any sales anymore. I think the last one they ever did was 15% in July 2021. Their HLP prodigy rack is so bad ass. The rep ares is a close second to that one. If prime did a 15% year whole cart sale I’d buy the hlp, all rack attachments and a adjustable bench.

When I dealt with them 2 years ago they basically only had one salesperson so hopefully they can improve all facets soon.
Coop quick question - is there anything out there to rack a curl bar without side holes in the uprights? Like a j cup that hangs off to the side rather than the front?
I think there are already attachments similar to what you're describing. Like a neutral grip low row attachment. But maybe not with a straight bar handle.

Coop, I just bought 2 of reps FT 5000 for my personal training gym. I'm honestly very annoyed at REP for even releasing the FT 5000 when they knew the Arcadia was in the pipeline. A great company however that was absolutely a money grab.
When asked about adjustable dumbbells you didn’t comment on the Pepin Fast Series. Still think they hold up compared to the other options out there? Thanks!
Great update! I do have a question on the Athena for my PR4000 rack. I have the Bulletproof Isolator and usually just leave the carriage attached to the front posts of the rack. Would that work with the Athena or would it screw up the cables? Not quite sure about the clearance. Thanks and keep up the excellent work!
Coop, is Rep FINALLY going to start offering their PR-4000 rack parts in army green? What gives??? They released the AB-4100 in this CREME-DE-LA-GYM color and we STILL can't build a rack to match. AND they just discontinued their old green rack color. AND they were teasing army green crossmembers at their Arnold booth like 7 months ago. Please blink any amount of times at all in the next video if you have insider information that this is coming (I am ✨manifesting✨ it).
When do I know it’s time to update/upgrade my rack. I have a Fringe Garage series squat rack. It’s a metric 2x3 and a bit wobbly. I use it everyday for its intended purposes plus I attach my TRX and similar workout tool to it. I’m thinking of replacing my rack with a 3x3 rack. Thoughts?
My now husband spent about $100 on an engagement ring that I picked out, then we spent another $100 to re-size the wedding ring that belonged to my mother. I don't even wear them except for special occasions because I workout all the time and require my 20+ silicone rings to see me through.
Hey Coop! I've just discovered your channel and am interested in getting equippment to start my own home gym. Do any of these companies ship to Ireland and do the Black Friday Deals you are covering apply of is it just US?
I think I have lost faith in the advice on this channel. Recently I have been looking into functional trainers. This channel steered me in what I thought was the right direction. I was looking into rep fitness, functional trainers, and such. I don’t have a large area for a gym pretty much half of a single car garage. Coop had some good advice for some smaller cable machines, and I watched all of the videos and was about ready to pull the trigger when a friend of mine told me about his total gym . And I had seen them before but I figured they were just a gimmick. Chuck Norris, and Christie Brinkley getting together to sell some worthless piece of machinery. My buddy encouraged me to buy one off of craigslist for a couple hundred bucks. I got the total gym fit model. I don’t know where I have been all my life but this machine is absolutely phenomenal. Definitely not a gimmick. What makes me really question whether or not Coop has good intentions in his reviews on this channel is that I have never actually come across him even mentioning a total gym. Now that I have used one and I know how exceptional they truly are, it is hard for me to put faith in a channel that has not suggested this for a home gym space. And I have worked out with free weights, and done the machines at 24 hour fitness, but the workout I get from a total gym is just more organic and exceptional than any other workout. Totly able to build muscle. Why Coop does not let people know more about this type of machine makes me suspicious about his channel’s motivations.
Would love to hear more about the Nike multicolored bumper plates. They look sick. Are they sized similar to rogue hi temps? Are they similar quality or will they break down.

Rogue has some deals on its 45lb Ohio Power Bars right now. Assuming someone doesn’t compete and just does power lifting (relatively heavy bench presses, squats, and dead lifts), is there any real reason not to go with a 45lb bar as opposed to a 20kg bar? I’ve been trying to research the question, but it’s tough to find good answers.
You’ll be fine with the pound version. The difference is really minuscule and the pound version will be better for clearance on re racking on rogue racks
Going to bite the bullet and get a power rack this year to replace my unsafe squat stands. I really want a power rack with cable for lat pulldown. My big problem is my basement/home gym is only 76" tall. Any recommendations Coop?
That's a tight fit. Most power racks are taller than 84 inches. The shortest rack is Titan X-3 Short 80 inch power rack. The lat pulldown is 78 inches tall. Best fit is REP PR-1050 Short rack is 72 inches tall but NO lat pulldown. You can build a DIY lat pulldown, Coop made a video about it.
@@alfredomeza4181 thanks man! I'll look into that. I did find the Titan T-2 short series rack which is 72" and you can tack on a lwt pulldown attachment. It would work but I am 74" tall so it's not ideal and I worry about the travel of the last pulldown.
I took full advantage of an offer by Walmart for a Signature Fitness SF-PS Sisyphus Push Sled for $399.99, which I have since received, used, and actually like. However, Walmart has since sold out of the Signature Fitness SF-PS Sisyphus Push Sled. I'm just glad that Walmart sent me an e-mail with the offer. The 4-wheel sled was easy to put together, but it is big. After I put it together, it is about 46 inches long, 31 inches wide, and 44 inches high. Since my garage is already full of gym equipment. I made a storage shed for it with pvc pipe that I bought at Home Depot and a 11 x 15 tarp that I bought from Harbor Freight. I connected the tarp to the pvc pipes with zip ties. It works fine, and it is a lot cheaper than buying a shed to store it.

Coop, I just bought 2 of reps FT 5000 for my personal training gym. I'm honestly very annoyed at REP for even releasing the FT 5000 when they knew the Arcadia was in the pipeline. A great company however that was absolutely a money grab.
Different market segments
Who doesn’t grab money?
Rep area or Athena ? I’m not sure. What are peoples opinion of them that have it?
Hopping the powerblock exp would drop down to 300, was 320 last month, now back at 410.
On your adjustable dumbbell answer you forgot about pepin
I still haven't out grown my Walmart and Dicks sporting goods equipment. 😂
If it works, why change it? Weight is weight.
Can you review the braingain adjustable dumbbells
Any chance at somepoint you can review the MAXUM S-92 or S-150 Smith Machine Functional Trainer
AMA Question: How long before equipment bought for Black Friday hits Facebook marketplace?
When asked about adjustable dumbbells you didn’t comment on the Pepin Fast Series. Still think they hold up compared to the other options out there? Thanks!
What urethane plates do you recommend?
Please god, let Pepin be one of the exclusive deals...
Hey Coop, can you do a comparison between Nuobells and the Chinese
facsimiles that are being sold
Are we gonna see a Titan Fitness Weight Stack wall mounted tower? (What a mouthful)
Great update! I do have a question on the Athena for my PR4000 rack. I have the Bulletproof Isolator and usually just leave the carriage attached to the front posts of the rack. Would that work with the Athena or would it screw up the cables? Not quite sure about the clearance. Thanks and keep up the excellent work!
any good power rack deals?
Coop, is Rep FINALLY going to start offering their PR-4000 rack parts in army green? What gives??? They released the AB-4100 in this CREME-DE-LA-GYM color and we STILL can't build a rack to match. AND they just discontinued their old green rack color. AND they were teasing army green crossmembers at their Arnold booth like 7 months ago.
Please blink any amount of times at all in the next video if you have insider information that this is coming (I am ✨manifesting✨ it).
For the snode promo.. what is the cast iron flexbell stand...
Thoughts?
As for dumbells you should review fixing old dumbells like new from Average Joe Innovations
I am looking for a mounted rack with cables under $3500. is that doable?
@garagegymreviews
I'm a 59yo 5'3" woman. I currently work out 4 days a week, but getting ready to go to 5. I'm training for the Women's Figure categorie and I'm hoping to add a functional trainer to my home gym. Would like to know which you would recommend. Arcadia, Inspire FTX or Inspire SF3? I need to keep below 2k, I wish money were no object. I try to watch all of your videos. Thank you for the amazing information you put out.
What do you think of the SUPGYM PS1A/Major Lutie Raptor F22? I'm seriously considering this upgrade for the functional training aspect.
You do not save money on a home gym, one good bar is years of membership
Go coop !
Hey Coop. I know this might be a bit unorthodox, but I really want the Inspire FT2 with the stack loaded Smith bar. Any deals you are aware of on this?
Any canadian shipping deals from rep? The shipping is a killer! BOS doesn't do benches like REP or Rogue cause I know you'd mention it. Want a crazy quick adjustable bench
Anything for Nordics and Torque Tanks which I am sure you will be covering already but just in case I am in the market for those
Hey coop - would love a review of force USA’s LPHS combo unit. All of the available videos miss a lot of detail and don’t really show off the machine well.
Thanks for the comtent
Waiting for REP to make a new monolift.
ARES like rack coming for Titan or Rogue? Where did Coop see it in the background?
Only have money for one. Spirit 95 recumbent or Schwinn AD7 ?
Love the channel, will definitely be using the links for Fringe and BoS!
Can anyone tell me what adjustable Dumbell is shown at 11:03 ? They look awesome shiny chrome adjustable ones
The Scoop from Coop 😂
Any deals on punching bags?
You mention cold tubs a lot on the channel. How about saunas?
Will Iron Master have a Black Friday sale?
Rogue has some deals on its 45lb Ohio Power Bars right now. Assuming someone doesn’t compete and just does power lifting (relatively heavy bench presses, squats, and dead lifts), is there any real reason not to go with a 45lb bar as opposed to a 20kg bar?
I’ve been trying to research the question, but it’s tough to find good answers.
You’ll be fine with the pound version. The difference is really minuscule and the pound version will be better for clearance on re racking on rogue racks
Boom goes the dynamite
You can’t beat griffins deals right now
Coop: When would Titan introduce a functional trainer like REP Athena? I need to know this, So I don't have to sell my Titan series power rack.
looking for a smalle sled like the freak athlete and shogun sports but the freak athlete is discontinued. shogun sports isnt 15% off its only 10%
Will you cover more equipment from Griffjn? They’ve been releasing a few new products.
Have you ever used ACF 50 on barbells?
10% off lol I wont even look at a deal unless its 25% off. You shouldn't even mention them. 25% is barely a deal.
so you're the guy I block on Marketplace!
People didnt dislike that video because they dislike ecosystems. They dislike proprietary or closed ecosystems.
Can you review the new version of the Force USA Mybench?
Yeah, will check it out. - Coop
@@GarageGymReviews Awesome, thanks! It looks to me to be the highest quality bench that comes with a leg extension.
Thoughts on freak athlete new combo unit
Coop, time to expand a bit and cater to higher budget for people with dough and room to spare. Review a Woodway treadmill, AND the Marpo tire flip. Puhleeze Coop.
