Wow! I didn't know that it's free for veterans. Great info for those who don't know about the National Parks Pass. I bought mines a couple of years ago. I need to break it in. Take care & GOD bless.
I recently just got a park pass for seniors (over 60) for the discount price of $20 for the yearly pass verses $35. That was a nice savings. A lifetime pass can be purchased for $80 for seniors as well...getting discounts as we age is always nice. Your free pass is diffently deserved. Thank you for your service😊
@@TheVillagesChief The sound of the surf does wonders for my soul...the mountains do too as long as not too close to the edge and being on a bike is the best way to experience the mountains
You are so nice & informative. My brother served in the Air Force & he got his lifetime pass. Thank you for your service & for sharing this information that veterans probably didn't know. Take care & God bless!
Thanks Chief! Sent a text to my daughter and son in law. He was in the Air Force for 10 years. They hike the parks all the time. You earned it enjoy.⛰️🏔️🧗♀️
Was offered a lifetime pass in Yosemite when he saw my Navy federal card. As bad as I wanted it… had to come clean and tell them I’m not a veteran myself but from a military family.
Hey Chief. Great information. I’m a retired Army guy and my son is disabled and has a dependent ID card. He loves going to national parks so this is fantastic news for him. Thanks for continuing to provide interesting and informative content. Happy New Year my fellow vet. Please give Gridley a treat for me. 🐶
Just picked mine up when I was in Las Vegas and went to the red rock canyon national conservation area. The attendant asked me if I was a veteran due to my hat. I just showed her my VHIC and she had me sign the card and handed it back to me. I had no clue this existed. Now I have to go on a road trip and hit up some parks.
Also, at Florida State Parks you can get a 25 % discount off annual passes for military and a free lifetime annual pass for those military with service connected disabilities.
Great info and thanks Chief, thanks for sharing. And thank you for your service. Wanted to ask you about veterans benefits regarding real estate taxes in Fla. I asked the "realtor/pickleball" lady, but I think she was not clear on my concerns. Maybe I was the one who was not clear? We are Vets and we speak the same language (sometimes, I'm an Army guy:) ) so maybe you'd get my meaning more clearly. But I don't want to pry too far in this public forum either. Ride safe Chief !!
Hi Cole! So it’s a little difficult to find the info online but I think in Sumter County if you are a DV of 10% or more you may qualify for a $5000 tax deduction on real estate taxes, don’t quote me on that but I think that’s the case, I would recommend calling the county you plan on living in and ask but my guess that’s Florida wide, anyway I wish I could give you a better answer but I’m no tax guru and I’m not 100% sure what the heck I’m paying (I don’t have it in front of me). Also there is a homestead exemption for anyone I think if you live here full time. I will say this place is very Vet friendly!
I enjoy getting to know you through your videos. I’m single and looking into the villages as well. I would love to speak with you more if you would be willing to do so. We seem to have similar interests and would love to hear your input on specific questions I have.
At first glance, I thought the retro Indian motorcycle logo on your wall was a profile version of the Death-head. I literally backed up the video to look again. LOL
I am a veteran but not retired or current member. I spent 14 yrs as a Navy Reservist and I did qualify for the lifetime pass which is a great benefit...I don't qualify for all things such as staying at a Navy lodge or VA hospital care benefits.
@thevillageschief hope all is well with you shipmate. We use ours not only RVing but when we take the K1200LT out, hitting parks out here when it's not 120F out. In other words, July to August. Lol.
Great information. Please provide more knowledge like this
Thanks!

@thevillageschief toy hauler or a nice enclosed trailer for a bike and gear, and a easy driver to tow it.
