These videos popped onto my Suggestions list a couple days ago, and I’ve just binged a bunch. As a born-in-Italy Italian, I’ve enjoyed them all, laughing a lot - and nodding a lot when my reactionns were exactly like Eva’s. When it came to Eva’s recipes and cooking, I picked up a few tips, but basically most of the time it was - ‘yup, I know that’s good cuz I’ve made it too”
But . . . but . . .HOMEMADE panettone? I’ve eaten a thousand panettoni (and Pandoro) - exactly none of them homemade. I didn’t even know you COULD make it at home!
    I bow to the Master.

OMG, I was hoping Eva would make Panettone and she did! I'm from Brazil and here Panettone or Panetone (the brazilianized word) is very traditional during Christmas, mostly due to the italian immigration, I believe. During the month of December supermarkets and grocery stores have stacks and stacks of Panettone, and some stores make their own, so I buy a lot to eat Panettone everyday because I love it!
We also have Chocottone, which is a version with Chocolate instead of fruit. But the traditional one with fruit is my absolute favorite! They also make more gourmet Panettone filled with chocolate fudge, nutella, marshmallow, among other creamy fillings. I would like however to eat the italian original, it must be way better than the ones I buy from supermarkets.

This is the best part of America ❤ My father’s side of the family came over on the mayflower, my mothers’ from Sicily in the late 1800’s. I grew up in the Bay Area of California, getting see and learn about so many different cultures from around the world and the wonderful foods they brought with them when they moved here! All these foods ARE what make this country as vibrant as it is! Between the cultures that were here already, and the many that have come in the last couple hundred years, our food culture is nearly unique in the world because of the diversity 👍 I think that’s pretty special ❤️ Thank you both for all your hard work… I’ve loved learning so much from you.

We make Italian bread cookies and the recipe is pretty close but less sugar and more eggs and we add extracts like vanilla and anise. Also we make the cookies thick and twist them into knots or candy canes with no sprinkles or icing. Sometimes we do out icing and sugar for the kids but the adults like them plain to dip in their cappuccino. You need to toast the panettone and put butter on it. So yummy
