I was talking about this with my mom the other day and her having been raised to just accept the system and all, and so she was arguing for capatalism even when my family makes four dollars an hour part-time. And whenever i mention this someone says "X person donates money!" While they may donate a lot of money in general, people with millions or billions should be donating 80-99% of their salary depending on how big their salary is.

She showed me and basically was a confused cis™️(I am stealth to them), I said “that’s my friend! Ashton!” The girl next to her said “is that top surgery, for the trans?” And I said “yeah” of course she asked “so was he or she born.. a.. ???”so I explained you were assigned female at birth but you are male. honestly that’s the closest I’ve come to telling them anything about me being trans.

Before this video I didn’t think I could hate billionaires and capitalism any more than I do already but then you stared listing all the things that billionaires could do with their money and oh boy I sure do wanna eat the rich. Over the past few months I’ve been becoming more and more aware of the detriments of capitalism and how there are other economic systems that might work better. I still have a lot of reading and understanding to do but I’ve joined the socialist society at my uni and that’s helping me to understand it a bit more.
I've worked in factories/warehouses that make and ship products for big business. I've seen women in their 60s, pregnant women, and all kinds of disabled folks (myself included) standing on their feet for 8 hours with 45 minutes total for break. My best friend's mom got carpal tunnel syndrome working in a factory.
I was having this argument with someone from my school and I basically said: Jeff Bezos is so rich yet his workers are paid so poorly and treated like trash. His argument was: well if you haven't put the time and work to have a degree those are the compromises you have to make... I was genuinely disgusted
I agree they could easily help the people who are working for them and are struggling but the choose not to when they don’t even need all of the money that they get and they would still be able to live comfortably
My aunt works for Amazon and lives in a disheveled one bedroom one bathroom house with her husband. She's an immigrant and works very hard. 7 years, she has been working there for 7 years and still lives in that house
If I could make that amount of money I would have every homeless person have a room in a house so it would be a ”community” house with 3-4 people per house and restock the food once a month to sustain them

This person makes sure their empolyees are taken care of, don't use sweat shops, give lots of money to charity on a regular basis. I have a lot of issues with billionares but I feel like it is more that the people on the top aren't very great people not just the fact that they have a crap ton of money. Or like musicians who are fucking rich as hell but are constantly working for their money and don't abuse those working for them. I'm just curious on your take of "grey areas". If they keep the money to themselves than thats wrong but if someone gives them this money from work and they give half their money to charity then they haven't done anything wrong. No one deserves to have more than anyone else but if richard branson keeps making different products he makes money and if he gives money to charity for people in need than what has he done wrong. If I make it as a hollywood actress and had millions I would give lots to charity but if i was working hard I would want money but I would want the same for everyone else. Looking at rates of donation percentagewise is irrelevant. Bezos STILL has too much. There are plenty of people who wouldn't have enough if they donated 50 bucks. Bezos can afford to donate more than 2 billion. He could donate literally 100 billion and be fine. Many people cant donate 50 dollars
