Full Time Lapse Remodel of Old Barn

- Watch this old barn become new again in just a few days. If you have an old barn on your property and you wonder if it could look new again, here is proof that a remodel might be worth it. We remodeled this old barn by removing all of the original aluminum skin and recycling it. We then over framed the exterior walls so we could get a stronger and much flatter surface to install new Classic Rib Metal Sales 29 gauge steel to. For the roof remodel, we removed the multi part roof system and installed new single piece roof panels that were roughly 45' long. This will ensure a lesser chance for any water intrusion at a lap and looks much better.
The best upgrade this old barn received however, were the two new sliding doors. We used Plyco sliding doors on both ends, and now our client is able to effortlessly open and close with the push of a finger.

I’m not the biggest fan of remodeling since it was my first 6 years or so of my career... it got old... no pun intended... but I really still enjoy a good facelift! What do you guys think? Make sure you share with friends that might need the motivation to remodel something! There is always beauty in old buildings!
Did you find any strapping that was rotted and needed replacement? I've always heard it's hard to get the nails or screws to seal well on that corrugated tin.

This was a great video. I really enjoyed seeing that. I like the new builds as well, but remodeling an old barn might be much more attainable for many of us over building a new one. It was good to see what could be done to an old barn.

Loved seeing the older gentleman pop into frame from time to time as he watched you guys refurbish the barn. I'd be doing that too if you were building a barn for me. Not to criticize or get in the way, just love watching things be built.

I haven't seen you cut the end wall steel after it was put up before. Also interesting to see the details you didn't have to worry about since it's not being insulated like the seal at the bottom of the roof steel.

This is exactly what I need to do to my dad's shop but I'm not sure how easy it would go. Trying to find someone around Central kansas that would answer a few of my how-to questions is near impossible. I'd pay you if you were closer!!!!!!

great work giving the old barn a facelift, was the cutting of the gable end tins due to some iregularities in the pitch or some other reason ?.
Is that a Metal Sales sliding door kit? Looks pretty slick, around here they just use wood framing with aluminum sides and top.
I kept thinking hope they saved all that old galvanized metal. Its in high demand for retro construction.
