- I did it! I made a DIY Adhesive Stencil for today furniture makeover / flip. This is only a little project, but I absolutely LOVE it. The stencil was created using my favourite new toy ... Cricut Explore 3! For anyone wanting to make their own Stencils to apply to furniture during their makeovers, I can highly recommend the Cricut! There is also the option to make a reusable stencil rather than a self adhesive stencil. Thats is on my list for my next Cricut project!

My furry sidekicks are Harper (Stumpy Cattle Cross) and Bailey (German Shepherd cross Kelpie) and they make an appearance in most of my furniture flipping videos. I absolutely love them to bits. I get most of my furniture from Facebook Marketplace for either FREE or very cheap. My goal for my furniture flipping is for it to help fund the early repayment of our massive home loan. How awesome would it be to be able to pay off that huge debt with furniture that would otherwise have ended up in Landfill?!

What a perfect a little charmer! Who knew it could be that nice before you started? You ask what projects we have done recently… I too have been inspired by blue. Over the summer I painted a small chest (just big enough for the TV to sit on), two nightstands, and a huge queen bed. I didn’t add anything as far as design other than new knobs as these pieces were for my daughters guest bedroom. She calls it “my room” because that guest bedroom is reserved for me in case I want to visit. Since she calls at “my room” I put my favorite multicolor peach and blue quilt and my favorite painting over the bed. She just laughs and lets me do whatever I want to do in that room. It’s been fun and I have to say when I go to visit I really do feel at home!

I love your practicality when it comes to these pieces. Then your creativity takes over as you decide on colors and such! Love the stencils (and the Cricut which I hope to get soon)! Your enthusiasm is contagious! I am still painting furniture at the ripe age of almost 70! I still get giddy when the magic starts to happen!

I'm the same with blues! I've had this colour in my shed for ages, but for some reason I thought it was more of a bright blue, and didnt even open it! I actually prefer this colour to Deep Sea now!
I finished repainting the pedal car today. It came out better than I hoped. I'm super proud of it.

Gorgeous stencil! Very clever flip. I've never flipped furniture as such, but I have decorated my own coffee table and side tables with resin ocean pours as their new tops....it's fun.

I just finished another flip, my painting buddy is a Rottweiler. Just a quick tip, when dog goes for a walk in the rain then comes back to shed, don’t let him shake anywhere near your freshly painted project! Grrrrr. Oh well, what’s one more coat?! 🤨😂
don't even get me started on dogs hairs ... OH MY WORD! Bailey is literally just a walking ball of loose hairs I think. And her toys ... Jeez! I was painting drawers last week and she literally just comes up to me and drops her stinking rubber bone into the drawer - right in it!! Then Harper is just stood there like 'well, are you gonna throw it for her or what?' hahah I'd love to see pics of your dog!! Wish you could post comments here. I truly enjoyed watching this piece transform. Although, I should admit when you were taking the stencil off it reminded me of the arcade game, Pac-Man. Obviously, you Won ☺️
YES!!! OMG now I want to go and play that hahahaha
I found that if the clear transfer paper is too sticky or ruins your fine details when pulling off, before you put it on the stencil take it and touch you t-shirt a few times to put some lint on it. Still sticky, but comes off so much easier!

I love the colors and the stencil! Congrats on taming the Cricut monster. I'm a little conflicted because I actually really liked the original hardware, but I like what you chose to replace it, too. I was giving my sofa table a good lookover today and thinking I might redo it in blue with a washed top. I live dangerously close to a Dixie Belle retailer .... 😜

It's so pretty. I was a bit concerned with the blue but with the stencil added its lovely. Congratulations on your first cricut project. Lol My first project was a heat transfer. Cricut reminded me to mirror the image but I thought why would I do that because I want it this way but what I didn't know is that htv already has transfer plastic that is heat resistant 🤭 so ruined the first one. Cut it and transfer. Who knew lol. My favorite piece right now is a side of the road find dresser missing a drawer that is made of what looks like tigewood. It's gorgeous so I made it into an entrance table , white washed all but the top and bottom shelf. Stained the top and shelf dark brown then stained over it black, wiped it away and it is beautiful. I love love love it.

Oh my word that made me laugh. I'm sooo with you on this. When I was doing the stencil and having to apply the transfer tape, I was thinking 'nah, they've got that wrong ... why do I need to add another layer of adhesive' haha ... my brain just couldn't work it out. But thankfully I just followed what I was being told, and who knew ... it worked hahah

Its a gorgeous blue isnt it? I always shy away from blues (blues and whites ... you all know that already ha) but I really like this one. For some reason I thought it was quite a bright blue and so I didn't even open it (been in my shed for months). But its a gorgeous navy and I actually prefer it to Deep Sea now!

Love this piece! I painted an old oak secretary in the Silk Nautical and really enjoyed using the Silk paint.
Oh I loved to see pics of this Ginger! I've only ever painted one secretary and it was a commissioned piece, so I had to go with the customers choice, and it was really boring. Nice to bring it back to life for her as it was her grandfathers, but it took heaps of paint (same colour inside and out) and was just boring. This was before my YT days :)

@@CraftedbyMonnowLane I used Bay Breeze, lovely color. I also used a few of re-design decor transfer, sunflower fields. It's so cute and completely out of my wheel house. Hi Rachelle, I've only just stumbled into your world here on UA-cam, love what you create too. Have you done a video about your tools? I love the way you have an ozito drill and then jump straight into using a festool sander...... both worlds covered. Keep up the good work
Haha! I worked with Festool for a while, hence me having them! No way I could afford them otherwise. All other tools are mostly Ozito, bar my Jigsaw which is Ryobi :)

That’s an adorable little side table! I’ve been anxious to see what you were going to put the stencil on ever since I watched you make it. It looks so good on that blue color! Hmm, I’m wondering if everything you do now will be sanded by your Festool and decorated with stencils? 😁
hahaha!! It will definitely be sanded with Festool (thats all I have now), but I'm going to TRY and not put stencils on EVERYTHING haha
I have 4 furry babies. 2 cats are 2 dogs. I don't let them near my furniture that I'm working on cuz I'll have paw prints and fur all over.
Cats are brutal when it comes to personal space aren't they? haha
Why don't you ever apply dark stain to the top of the furniture to contrast with the color of the paint? It looks like the furniture is unfinished! Just a tip!!!!
